Quadrant scores... Huge difference - Motorola Droid Bionic

My last bionic (.2233 ICS leak) scored a 3032. Was in the same range consistently. I just placed an insurance claim. I'm now running the .232 leak and can't get over 2300... Any ideas what is causing the significantly lower scores?

check your clock speed. your old phone ws probly at 1.2ghz and now your new one sounds like its at 1.0

You're absolutely right. So newer phone runs slower? Any known fixes for this?

As far as I know it seems to be random. I dont think its specifically newer phones.

After a littlw research, I read that 1.2 ghz chips that failed testing for the razr where placed in the bionic since it was only set to run at 1 ghz but they overclock to the 1.2 if you have one of the failed razr chips.

I don't think it's legit... If you look at the System version in the engadget image, it is still on the .604 update which is associated with the lastest Droid X update for 2.1.
Maybe I'm wrong...
It's fake. Look ay the baseband. Same as in w 2. 1 update 1

Also why would benchmarks go down? When i first got the phone and turned it on my benchmarks were super low, a simple reboot and they have been sky high

Ya, that would be pretty sad. On a side note, there is a guy selling droid x's with 2.2 on ebay LOL

One core

Hey has anyone noticed if you run quadrant or any cpu monitor, it thinks you have only one core? Is this just mine?

They aren't optimized for dual-core devices like 99% of other apps.

That app is ****. Run a benchmark and get full screen ads.

Razr rom?

Has anyone tried to flash the razr deodexed rom to this phone yet. Are they identical as far as hardware goes? I'm tempted to try it

Different processor for starters. Also different gpu i believe.

The razr uses the same processor as the bionic, the OMAP 4430. It also has the same GPU as well.
The CPU on the razr has be overclocked to run at 1.2Ghz.
The galaxy nexus uses the OMAP 4460 which clocks at 1.5GHz and uses a slightly more powerful GPU than that the 4430 uses.
The nexus has been under locked to run at 1.2Ghz.
In short. The razr and bionic have the same processor and gpu, where they differ is at the kernel level.

So different kernal and locked bootloader= not a good idea?

Processor
From what I have read personally, the Razr has the 4460 as well as the Nexus. The Bionic has the 4430. I am pretty sure that is correct.
Sorry, Just an observation.

No, the Razr has a 4430
I heard 4460 as well, but i also dont have one. Id die though if it was another d2g scheme where they repackage a phone with 1 new option and re-release it as "special" if its the same phone only no removable battery. #Phuckthatfone

OMFG The galaxy nexus is the first phone released with 4460.
As for the RAZR...
The motorola site list the processor as 4430.
It was listed as 4460 on their site after the nexus premier but they changed it back and followed it up in the forums by stating they made a typo which was now corrected.
The teardown of the RAZR also reveals A 4430 CHIP.
IT IS NOT A 4460.

I hope this is possible for the Photon 4G, and by the way, the rom can be modified to work with the Bionic.

Possible overclock?

I found this thread on the bionic forum http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1439013 with overclock zips. The modules for d3 are available here http://code.google.com/p/opptimizer/downloads/list from what I read in the official thread here http://rootzwiki.com/topic/14511-op...4-overclocking-kernel-modulesofficial-thread/ it would show up in set cpu and wouldn't require having the MIN jacked all the time. anyone see any reason this wouldn't work?

Working good here. Clocked at 1.2
[edit] So apps do see the max as 1.2, Rom manager, cm settings etc. Linpack shows better performance no different than the 1200 overclock binary. The only thing missing is the 1000 slot, 300 600 800 and 1200 are all useable.
I'd say it's very safe just don't go too high.

Reading in the other threads it appears that much over that and phone will just reboot due to lack of voltage. I thought this would be nice in that the kernel sees the change and we don't have to have the cpu at full throttle

Go to the opptimizer website (Tekahuna's website).
Then go to updates. There should be updated modules there for droid 3 with voltage control.
Always post your results and questions on the official thread here...

This link is the only place you will get support and help Tekahuna with feedback.

Yes I just read through the entire thread. Voltage control is a fail for the bionic sadly due to reasons I mostly but not entirely understood. I think the d3 is gonna have the same issue from what I (sorta) understood. However when I have time to sit down and try this I will def post in the official thread to let him know my experience.
I just wanted to show it to the xda d3 community, as the idea of voltage control and a 1.5 or higher oc is exciting (if you're like me and get excited about such things )

I was looking in downloads. OC'd and increase voltage works, my device doesn't like being oc'd much even with the volts up it's unstable above 1.2

Cyanogen nightlys quadrant

The scores are really low running quadrant. Also in the 3D run it artifacts, anyone noticed this?I'm on soon now scoring over 3000.Just curious if others were getting low scores along with artifacts.
Sent from my LG-P925 using xda premium
I ran a quadrant. It's completely fine.
However, quadrant scores don't mean anything in real life applications. They're just numbers.
Sent from my LG Thrill 4G
Yeah I know it means nothing but the artifacts has always been there even on self kangs for me.That's why I posted to see if others were having the same results.
