im on cm7.2.0
i wanna know how to stop my trackball from blinking until i open and read my sms. i want it to blink a couple of time then stop..
is there any way to fix this?
Why? Battery savings will be negligible, and it would entirely defeat the purpose.
there are some settings in the led notifications settings that mention it increasing the power usage by 3% an hour. what if i get a text at night that i don't read and wake up to 27% battery that i could have saved. that's why its my concern..
Don't use those settings

Anybody know how to set the led ring of the touch diamond, thats the round light sensor in the middle completely off ? registry entry or something like that ?
So it doesn't blink on sms, email, battery charging and missed calls ?
Perhaps a good setting for battery life
I didn't actually measure this, but in my opinion the effect on battery life is negligible.
There is a widget in the market that shows the uptime of your phone. Does anyone know of one that will show the uptime and the awake time with % awake? If not, I was wondering if someone could try and make one.
i think you can see this in the phone settings if you go to setting --about phone -- status --very bottom
I found where it is in the menu but I am looking for a widget so i dont have to dive into the menus everytime.
Sorry for the interruption but what the up time of the phone mean exactly?
Uptime is the length of time since the phone was last turned on. Awake time is the amount of time the phone is in use. Whether playing games, surfing, using the phone, ect. The more awake time you have the more you use the battery. There are some apps that tend to keep the phone awake even if the screen is off. This will eat the battery alot faster.
Hello, is it me or the app LG 2x notification app consumes a lot of battery, or better yet does the pulsing LED in general consume a lot??
In battery stats I get 13% used by display and 17% by LED 2x notification!
I've used the phone to browse the web in wifi for 2h straight and sporadic times during the day. How is it possible the LED consumed more power that 2h -alwayson- display??
In-fact when I left the phone pulsing for about 1h the battery dropped around 10%.
The phone has been on battery for 21h, I see that LED app kept the phone awake for 11 minutes and CPU total 2 minutes.
In spare parts I see that this app it's in "sensor usage" with a total time of 7h (!).
This phone has a LED?! Mine doesn't! Wtf.

he means the back light notification
when you get an notification the 4 leds home menu search en back will pulse
yes that. it happened again :-( fully charged i got a text, its been pulsing for an hour and battery was 7% less! does it really use that much power? why does it use the g sensor? it doesn't make sense. so what if i get a notification and never touch the phone for 10h with no connection the battery will die???
It is quite strange, I got the same problem.
did you unistall it?
Change the settings so that's its only pulsing for 15 mins, do you have it vibrating also?

The P20 Pro's power saving option seems to get activated automatically when the battery gets low, and does not automatically deactivate whe the phone gets charged up again so I have to manually remember to disable it, meanwile wondering why push messaging isn't working properly. Anyone know either
How to stop it automatically enabling when the battery gets low, or
How to make it automatically turn off when the battery is charged up again
Anyone?
Try this...

However, you might be confusing the battery with an exclamation mark(battery low notification) for the power saver icon ( leaf inside battery indicator)

The link seems to be about getting the Android power saving mode to activate automatically, not deactivate. And I think my issue may be Huawei's power saving mode, not even the standard Android battery saver that's kicking in.
Problem is that when the battery gets low, the phone does indeed go into a mode where background checks for things like mail stop. That's fine when the battery is low but unless I remember to turn the power saving mode off manually I'm left suddenly noticing I'm not getting mail notifications even after the phone is charged... The normal battery saving mode on stock Android automatically disables when the phone is charged, but that's not what's happening here.
Hello,
I would like to ask you guys, what apps do you use to save your battery?
Naptime? Anything else?
Nothing... I don't need to install anything to save battery. That being said, I USED to do this with apps like Greenify on my Galaxy Note 3 (so like 9-10 years ago). But I had stopped doing that a while back as doing so had only lead to even less battery life lol.
to be honest, the best battery saver is to uninstall the native Facebook application from your phone. it eats up battery like anything. you will see a noticeable improvement on your daily battery performance.
I've tried naptime and I've not really noticed a huge difference, at least in repeatable conditions, i.e. overnight. Same with Galaxy max Hz, although i like the additional controls that the latter gives
Love Bixby routines to switch to 2G when at home or activate batter saver when sleeping and not charging. Rly good stuff.
I don't use anything to limit battery consumption, but I do use Accubattery to set an alert when my charge reaches 75%. Reducing depth of charge and not charging to full 100% is a way to reduce battery wear, so ultimately that extends battery life.

I kind of do something similar. I've got a Bixby Routine to shut off the smart plug that the charger is plugged into when the Battery percent reaches 80. Unfortunately, Bixby routines isn't very reliable.

I use Accubattery as well to monitor temp and charging.
If you use any power management especially 3rd party ones it can cause erratic behavior and may create conflicts that use more power than they save.
I deal with power hogs directly by either adjusting settings, disabling them or firewall blocking them.
Certain apps like Brave, Gmaps I manually close out when done or will they continue to poll the internet in the background and use power.

You can just turn off all notification and disable(deep sleep) in Background usage limits.
I’ve been using AccuBattery with IFTTT to shut off a smart plug at 75% for several years now to extend my phone’s battery life. This has been very reliable, it runs every morning before I wake up.

what do you mean disable? add facebook to deep sleep list? I noticed it's not working, even if I but it in deep sleep list I still get notifications. And do rly disabling notifications for facebook app improves battery? any source about that?

No, no. The first person essentially said to uninstall that crummy, built-in Facebook app and then to put some apps that you don't need notifications for into deep sleep mode. The second person mentioned the same thing with different wording.
