[Q] JB Wifi GSM Signal Problem - Galaxy S I9000 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello there, i have installed TAJB Rom and it's great. Before and after flashing rom, i did factory reset and wipe cache. I have installed this rom over cyanogenmod 9. There was no signal problem on cm9 but in jb it's very poor. I can't get a good wireless signal even if i'm close to router. And gsm signal is the same. It was 3 bars in my room before flashing. Now its only one bar. What might be the problem? Which modem should i flash? I live in Turkey

Try using the suggested modem for Jelly Bean which is KF1. I'm from the Philippines and I had no issues with the signal even if the modem is for AT&T US/Canada. Currently, I'm testing KJ1.
Just experiment.

[Q] Unlocked & Rooted Samsung Galaxy S I9000 signal issue

Hello, I recently bought an unlocked and rooted galaxy s i9000 from someone. Its running Dark Knight 5.5 and Devil Kernal. I have little to no network signal, wifi works great though. It has a rogers sim card in it that works fine in other phones. I have never had a connection issue and no matter where I go with this phone I have extremely bad service ! If anyone has some ideas that would be appreciated.
Thanks
Could I just flash another modem too it , one that might give it better signal?

What baseband version are you on?
System Settings - About phone - Baseband version.
I am having signal issues also.
I get maybe 2 bars then none then none sometimes.
I am running Team ISGS ICS4.0.4
This is really unreliable now.
My phone started doing it on Rel 4.2.
I used the KG3 modem and I now get FULL bars.
Here is a list of modems:

Sorry dude, i clicked the thank-you button by mistake. Have a freebie on me.
JW4 doesn't work in Canada. Here we need 850 & 1900, therefore KG3.
Flash the kernel again
I guess its due to the kernel.Dlash the rom.See to that you clear the Dalvik Cache too:angel::angel:

JB Reception Terrible? Any fixes?

[Q] Regarding Mobile Data ...

Hi, actually i have two questions :
First: i am using a JB Leak XXLSC ( Ultimate 5.1 In particular), the rom is awseome but
when it come to mobile data connection its disappointing. When the mobile date is connected
to any gsm (2g) network the connection is stable and does not drop but when i connect to any
wcdma (3g) network the connection is awful it just keep connection for 10 20 seconds maximum
then drop for while and reconnect again and the same happens always. I changed the modem and
used XXLSC XXLRK DDLR1. Note that when using any aosp rom with DDLR1 i have perfect 3g
connection. any one faced the problem may help me with a solution ?
Second: I've noticed that all tw based roms connects to HSPAP (H+) network which have the highest
speed (20mb/s), but when using any aosp rom (cm9,cm10,aokp,cna,slimbean) the maximum speed
i get is HSDPA (12mb/s), so why is that? anyone care to explain
UP ....................
simply flash a stock ics rom if you can't live in rom with bugs it's a leak version of official jb not a official stable one my friend

I had signal reception problems until yesterday too after moving to CM 10.1 for more than a month. I discovered that for samsung phones you need to install a modem file separately. With the original 10.1 update, I had XXLRK for baseband modem (about phone settings) and it wasnt reporting GSM signal strength to many of the GSM apps in the google play market like sensorly or OpenSignal. I always got 99asu or no signal reported. I tried DDLP4 (for India) it gave me really good 3G speed, but the dead spots in my house did not go, nor did the incorrect GSM signal reporting. I was suffering zero availability inside my house, and good signal reception outside the front door. Then I located XXLT4.zip modem file (its in a XXLT3 -->latest thread towards the last few pages) and did an install from zip from boot recovery mode of CWM and now I get signal reception inside my home and at my bedside. Only downside is that I only get EDGE GPRS data not 3G. 3G is available outside my front door.
Try the XXLT4 modem zip file and it should improve. Its only 5mb and takes less than 10 secs to flash update.
Google for "n7000 modem xxlt3" and also "android modem for dummies" and ye will find!
PS: I use MIUI v5 which needs CM 10.1

Network Signal Low since 4.3

Hello,
I have a Samsung Galaxy s3 and ever since going to 4.3 my signal strength for mobile is weak, very weak.
I have re booted phone, taken battery out, tried different modems but all with no luck.
Has anyone else had this issue and successfully fixed it?
Cheers
Got the same issue, as I flashed the new Alliance Rom on my S3 LTE. Most time I had just one of five network points.
So I did another Full Wipe, and used the Boeffla Kernel with stock modem.
Got slight better results, but there are always lil interferences while talking. Probably its the bad network by german T-Mobile.
Regards
I have the australian optus version and signal where I live is really crappy on 4.1.1 I upgraded to 4.3 the newest one from hong kong (the one my rom is based off) and now I have found that the modem and ril driver in that version is giving me stronger 3g and 4g signal

I am in Hong Kong with the following
JB 4.3 XXUEML8 rxtreme JB 4.3-V2.0
Hong kong modem ZHUCMK1
Stock kernel of XXUEML8
My house is at 35/F of a building, my phone will have signal as stated below:
LTE/WCDMA/GSM signal with 2-3 out of 4 bar
WCDMA/GSM signal normally full 4 bar
Hey everyone I am back developing again haha Noticed this myself with 4.3 so I have looked into it and noticed something very different with 4.3GSM RIL class files. They are are all reverted to the standard GSM ril type files, where as on all previous generations have used QMI based RIL.
I have created a patch that I am about to test and if I have any luck I will upload it here for you guys to try out for your selves. It should work for other countries as well so long as you have noticed a difference in the RIL types between 4.3 and 4.2 or earlier? If not then I would suggest leave things as they are and flash a new modem.
I am on Optus and I am comparing the first 4.3 release to a stock Optus Android XXALI5-OPS, does anyone know what the version number is called from the OTA update for Optus?

I have the same problem. My wife has an I9305 and I have an I9300, both with 4.3, my signal is way better and usually get H+ internet and she just gets Edge.
Any progress on the fix? I would love to have the patch, or even just the information on which files to change and what to change.
Thanks
