Hello ive had my note for 3 days now im on criskelo v11.
Wifi at home connects and when i go iut it switches to 3G automatically.
However when im back home my GM does not reconnect to wifi automatically (ofc i leave wifi on all the time). Is this a bug somewhere or is this feature simply not available on android devices? I just switched from iphone to android
thanks all.
By the way i have an app called Wifi manager maybe this is interfering?
It should connect automaticlau mine does i was usinh criskelo till yesterday
Do not use any kind of managers.. Use native features.. And update your router firmware

msedek is correct. Use the stock setting built into the rom. Your wifi will kick on shortly after getting within the range of your router.

Are you having reconnection issues with other WiFi devices on your network? Because this is usually a Wifi/router problem. I don't think it has anything to do with your galaxy tab.

I have the same problem and extremely unstable wifi performance and it looses connection even with very good reception. I havea netgear 3300 router with both 2.4 and 5 kHz networks and the only device that works badly is the tab. I have 20+ other devices with no problems at all of which 4 are other android devices.
I live in an area with 15-20 other wifi networks and perhaps it would help to disable all other networks but the settings for wifi is very basic and not many options exist. I have a DBT device with stock JMG FW.
JMG/JMF problem. I had none of this issue while my firmware was JK5. Now it sucks and still waiting for Gingerbread to come to Kies.
SAME PROBLEM WE HOPE IN GINGERBREAD
Anybody else experiencing this.. Wifi is on and connected but my 4G-LTE arrows are still showing and flashing as if it was transmitting and receiving.. but my Wifi is on??
I am using Launcher Pro instead of LG Home so I have access to the power widget in the Notification Bar but not the LG Home power controller.
I just installed Power Control Plus and it seems to shut off LTE and 3G when you press the 3G button and can keep it off with or without Wifi on.
I've noticed this. It doesn't bother me due to the fact that I have unlimited data. If it want for that it would bug the **** out of me.

As far as I know, on all the android phones I've had, u have to manually shut off mobile data even when connected to wifi. There are apps that include this option when making "profiles" that get triggered (tasker, CPU tuner) but otherwise I think it stays on unless manually turned off. Maybe its not using mobile data but it appears to stay "on".

On my olds droid the 3G would turn off when I got onto a wifi network. I might just be special. Lol

I have the same issue. It actually goes further, because when I manually turn off mobile data through the Settings menu the data icon still stays on. If I use a tool like Dataswitch the icon goes away, but I never had to do that with any of my other phones.
The other issue with wifi that I'm having is that if I set the Wifi sleep policy to turn off after 15 mins of inactivity it can't reconnect after it turns itself off. So when I start using the phone again it just keeps trying to obtain the IP address of the network without ever succeeding. I've tried this on multiple networks. I have to turn off wifi and then turn it back on. Anybody experience this?
These issues aren't big but they're starting to make me question the quality of the LG Revolution and I may exchange it for the Charge.

I have this issue too, and it is annoying. I'm not worried about exchanging it, because I'm sure this will be addressed in the port of CM7 that TheCubed is working on.

Do issues like these usually get fixed in a port of CM7? Do you think the issue of mobile data staying on when it should be off will get addressed as well?
Any idea when CM7 for the Revolution will be available?
This problem started happening this evening for no reason.
Normally when I turn on Wi-Fi 3g turns off. But for some reason this evening when I turn it on the e or 3g is staying on even though I have full Wi-Fi signal( sitting next to it).
anyone any ideas how to fix this.

Maybe try wipe Cache and Dalvik-Cache...
Are you on a custom rom?
Did you try a reboot?
You sure net trough wifi was not off?

Activate wifi and go to http://www.hostip.info/ from the phone to see what network interface the phone uses, if it's the 3G one it's probably the phone having problem detecting internet through the wireless router for some reason, if it's the wifi something is messed up im afraid.
Not sure where in the rom it's defined to shut it off when wifi is detected.
i have the samsung galaxy note gt-n7000 the problem is when i want to use wifi i have to turn on the data too because i can't use just wifi i get no connection anybody have any suggestions
you can't use both of them at the same time... remember your phone has 2 radios.. Wifi, 3G.. your phone would switch radios from one to the other. IF you want to use wifi, it turns off 3G and vice versa. You can't have them both. Though you can connect your phone to your home router and at the same time mobile data would be ON. but when your going to go online... your phone would toggle between two radios and normally it would be using WIFI and temporarily disabling your 3G/4G connection. When your done with WIFI and turn it off, then that will be the time 3G will be enabled again.
That's how it is usually implemented.. not just with the Note but with any smartphones out there.
Web u on wifi... Data goes to off automatically.. How can u on both of them?

Hi all. i have a problem with my note. on some instances if i try downloading large files(for games or navigon maps, or just browsing on some sites, etc) after 10 15 seconds the wifi adapter shuts down/resets and the connection is lost. the adapter restarts and connects to the wifi in 2 3 seconds but is very frustrating to try downloading something many times before succeeding. anyone else has this problem? i searched the forum but didnt find anyone else with this problem. any ideas as to what is causing this problem?

Re: note wifi disconnecting
Hmm. Try changing the router wifi settings to transmit only b/g and retest.
Had the same issue, please tell us what version and kernel rom you are using?
->I had only when using CM, on stock GB and the XXLSC roms, I did not encounter this problem (also with cm 10.1 I seem to have a stable connection again)
**I do want to note, that it can't be possible to have a worse connection when on CM vs TW, but I have experienced it this way. So I can onlyh draw my conclusions from that...(I don't have any developer knowledge whatsoever)
Re: note wifi disconnecting
I would start by un plugging the router and plug it back in.

baseband version: N7000 xxlpt. kernel version N7000 xxlq3. android 4.0.3. This issue was present from day one. but never tried downloading large files from another router and my htc legend never had this issue with the router. will try to see if the router is the problem today and get back to you. tx to all in advance

Try this:
Dial *#0011#*
Press the menu button on service mode screen
Select wifi
Turn "wifi power save mode" off
It seems like this is only working on samsung roms. I'm on CM10.1 and I have to dial *#*#0011#*#* to access the service mode.
Also there is no wifi entry in the menu.
Re: note wifi disconnecting
just downloaded a 700 +mb file with no problem. i set the router to b and g only. seems it was the frickin router. tx a lot to all 4 ur support.

CHanging to b/g works
Hi,
I have router DIR 855 and had the same issue with my note. Wifi kept disconnecting whereas all the other devices at home stay connected. So it was clear that Note was the one that had the issue. Changing the 2,4ghz to b/g setting helped but I would like a stable connection on my 5 ghz band and that one keeps disconnecting. Any idea how to fix that? I am using NAS and the speed is much better when using 5ghz instead of the old crappy 2,4ghz.

For me too 5GHz is not stable on note... Why not use the router on Auto and then use the settings on NAS to use only 5GHz
Please explain

Hi,
Can you please elaborate on how to do that?
My router has two different bands and it cannot switch between the two. What do you mean by NAS setting?
Depends if your router can run simultaneous dual band.
