Is there a way to fix the in-line buttons of the headphones you get with the Diamond2 to not start calling people?
They are very sensitive, and I had some unwanted calls to people while listening to some music...
I can't find anywhere to configure this (WinMo settings "buttons" and "input" screens have nothing). IS there a way to disable those buttons or, better yet, make them useful for things like volume control?
same problem here, everytime i go by bike i call someone hitting the button somehow.
I mange to call people accidentily while walking down the street,
It needs to be able to lock itself while playing music or you need to press a particular button to lock-unlock.
I have a Noreve flip case coming soon maybe this will help to stop this problem.

if its not the headphones causing your problem you can simply turn your defice off while playing musik. it will keep on playing.
but the buttons in the cord don't "lock" if you switch it off
which basically is my problem

TouchLockPro locks all buttons, including the in-line buttons of the head-phones.
This solution worked fine for me and my Touch Diamond 2.

Cannot wake phone while on speakerphone if "power button to end call" enabled
Please star this issue:
http://code.google.com/p/android/issues/detail?id=39869
This is a regression in 4.2 and is extremely frustrating as I love the "power button to end call" option but it renders the phone useless on speakerphone.
They should allow for the volume rockers to wake the phone on phones without physical home buttons.
I had the same issue with my one x, I'm not sure it's even an issue, more a consequence of using that feature. The volume rocker has got to control volume in a call so we can't really use it to wake it up. I agree it's really annoying but just change back.

It's quite easy to throw in a "screen off" clause to the code to first wake the device if the screen is off and then control the volume.

There's been a response to this problem:
https://productforums.google.com/forum/#!msg/mobile/ZlDsNF3gdHs/6_kfdv1w91cJ
The workaround is to wake the phone through connecting it to a charger.
I never noticed this problem on the S2 but it's bang in my face on the Nexus 4.
I wonder if there is a third party app that will keep the phone awake during a call?
Hi,
I know it is partly mentioned in a few threads already, but nobody explicitly asked that question (or answered it respectively). [It is regarded to the bundled headset, but applies to most 1-button-headset out there]
Status Quo:
- when I double tap the headset button -> redial + unlock the screen
- when I long tap the headset button -> Google Now opens + unlock the screen
- one tap plays and pauses music, but is also a very fragile setting as sometimes it starts a previous track or begins the track from the beginning
Problem with this:
- I have to unlock the phone and skip tracks manually
- I unlocked the phone accidentally a few times due to that setting
Question: How can I get rid of this very quirky mapping? And also, how can I get the double tap working to skip a track?
What I tried:
- Headset Button Controller -> Didn't work at all
- DoubleTwist -> Worked, but also everytime I skip a track it crashes the phone app and demands me to retype the SIM code
- a few other things, like flashing other ROMs and playing with a lot of settings
+1
Headset Button Controller works complete fine for me.
From 4.1.2 onwards no app can intercept long press it will always go to Google now, that how Google decided. Learn to live with it.
For everything else Headset Button Controller is the way to go
It will solve ur redial issue, just go to Advanced tab ->Advanced settings->Check redial fix
Headset button controller works but only for one action/ first track. it doesn't skip tracks after. any help?
I tried a few things but still could not skip tracks with the bundles headset. Most earphones out there cater for iPhone controls so they won't work either. As far as a I am aware, the urbeats and the specific htc e240 earphones work a treat. I bought the cheap
E240 set and they work great and also change volume.

I recently migrated from the iPhone 4S to the N3.
So far, I'm liking most of the features.
However, the one thing that does bother me is that the ringtone volume is directly tied to the media level.
Is there anyway to isolate the ringtone volume so that when I increase/decrease the system volume via the rocker, the ringtone volume remains constant? Starting in iOS 6, this was allowed on the iphone. Please don't tell me that this is something ONLY iPhone can do.
Thanks in advance.

When you press the volume up or down key, tap the settings key right next to the pop-up and it will show the other volume levels.

Not sure your software version, but my volume button controls only the ringer unless a game or some other form of media is running, then it controls that media but not the ringer. The only time I notice it affecting the ringer is if in the case of a game and I try to adjust before the game is fully loaded. If you watch you see a phone icon or a speaker on the slider. If you try to adjust for media too soon you will notice the slider is still showing the phone instead of the speaker for media.
One of my gripes with the Nexus 6 is the fact that whenever my phone rings it does so in an escalating fashion. Rather than ringing at full volume like a normal device it goes from a low volume and slowly picks up to the loud volume. The same happens with Voice Calls as well on Speaker and it is very frustrating.
Is there anyway I can disable this? Perhaps a mod to disable this system so I can have regular full volume rather than escalating volume? I keep almost missing phone calls due to this, and voice calls have been redundantly frustrating.
I was wondering the same thing!
Hopeful that there will be a rom / kernel that will change this. IIRC, Seems like I remember a tweak on some of the Gnex ones that did it.
I use a app called "Disable Increasing Ring" on my Samsung Note 2.
Don't know if it is working for Nexus 6... (don't have one, but want one)
It's in the Play store

Headset to speaker phone
The volume also does the ascending thing from headset to speaker phone which I'm not really a fan of.
the app
Worked briefly on the Nexus 6 then stopped
Any new info on this going to try the app described above and see if it works for me.
