best kernel for cm7 for battery - LG Optimus Black

Hello guys I want a kernel that is good in heavy use I mean heavy use not takes a lot of a battery(using byone's one when screen on with max brightness and wifi it takes 3% / 1 min Sooooooooooo much) and also if I left the phone with screen of and wifi of it went to deep sleep immediately and when in deep sleep shouldn't take battery (in byone's one in deep sleep 12 hours takes over than 20% soo much in the stock cm7 kernel it takes 0% in 12 hours)
so what is this kernel??

Try Zeus 6.39 ROM.....it's the best till now..with some tweaks

huexxx 4 or 4.1 kernel.
offers an incredible battery life.

not customized so much
not support arabic such as cm7(supports Arabic more than stock)
has a lot of freezes
BUILT ON STOCK BASE
thnx all
but which better
huexx 4 with mod
huexx 4.1
??

ı think huexxx 4.0 because 4.1 kernel has lg old drivers.

the problem with huexx is freezing
and the problem with byone is the gps
which I should choose?

you should try huexxx 4.0
on the exchange rate and the difference

boype gps fix baaaaaaaaaad not work
What is the link for huexxx kernel 4 with mod

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1565878

Okay I will flashed huexxx 4
advantages :
-Should have no Lags/Sods/Freezes
-Should have battery good(Can you tell me what is the best performace for this kernel for battery?)
disadvantages:
Slow GPS(Which fix/app should I use?)
thnx all

Okay I just flashed it
I will test battery at night
and btw I will test freeze
now I will test GPS
the best thing yet is the speed in wake up the phone from screen off very fast

Okay guys after testing GPS:very very good
After testing the kernel for 2 days heavy heavy use (HD game all time) no freezes at all
but according to battery I'm using 200min 1000 max smartass2
look at sleeping time was (47% 4:47am) became(34% 3:21PM )almost 10:45min lost 13% is this good ?? the phone spend 97% on deep sleep(with CPU spy) so what about not losing any battery while deep sleep?? how can I get more battery??

[Q] Battery Life on Froyo (Dream/Sapphire)

Simple Poll.
Have you seen a decrease or increase?
Someone can explain this battery drain?
in a lot of roms based on 2.2.1 there is a big battery drain, in some other there isn't.

Reboot after unplugging from USB and battery drain is gone. For further improvement install SetCPU and reduce min/max frequency. I am getting more or less the same lifetime as with donut ROMs.

OK I have done.. but the problem is that when I use it 3 o 4 minutes (for example I install an application using a file explorer, then I read a message and then I come back to home) m battery get 5% lower...
In standby I lose 10% in 6 - 7 hours (I think this is normal).

I am currently without a computer therefore immune to this USB bug. I flashed CM6.1 to this and the other g1 and both suffered substaintial amounts of battery drain so I nandroid restored back to CSDIv4 and still the lowest frequencies and settings did little to combat the descending digits. So I tried this...
Recalibrated my battery
Flashed SuperWipe.zip
Reboot
Flashed SparksMod's latest
Reboot
Wiped battery stats
Unplugged...reboot
Battery lasted 23 hours the first day never seen anything like it.
Lifes great.

I'm using TMUS-G1-Froyo CM6 remix..
and I'm using the new radio with +14mb.
The rom flies but the battery go down too fast.
I'm using setCPU with 256 - 528 mhz while screen is on, 122 - 256 mhz while screen off.
If I go to battery use in settings I see
Cell standby 45%
display 28%
phone idle 22%
android system 3%
I don't think is normal... cell standby is the battery use by cell radio..
I wonder if the new radio give a big battery drain..

I got real excited when I heard about the new radio and hboot even thought that its exclusion was the source of the the battery issues. Haven't been able to try it as I'm without a up-to-date PC at the moment.
It would be real nice if I could find a seasoned dev who understands battery consumption. I thought the kernal was the main culprit but I've tried two different roms with the same kernal and one has notably better battery life than the other. So confusing.

I can't use my phone with this battery drain...
I will come back to official android OTA-AOSP 1.6.. with +14mb.
So I'll test if this kernel with 14mb is a cause of battery drain.
PS: I'm not a lover of rom customizations.. I think the official roms are the best.
The other are all too heavy. I'm not a fan of cm kernel, that is too heavy for g1.
I would see an official OTA 2.2 without customizations, so every one could customize as he want, and if he want.
PS: OK I flashed AOSP 1.6 using ezBiff_kernel to have 15mb (cause I have new radio and spl, so I can flash roms only using this kernel).
Result: my battery life is similar to froyo 2.2 roms... so the problem is:
1) Kernel? (ezBiff_kernel is based on cyanomod kernel... ... ... heavy as death)
2) New radio/spl?
3) My battery (I don't think so.. it's new battery. I buy it 2 weeks ago and in the beginning it works so well.. but then I flashed new radio/spl and new kernel for 15mb..)

Come now.. the cm pershoot kernels are super optimized so they don't collapse under the heavy as death rom that is usually on top of it..
I get mixed results with that kernel between testing and feedback.
A test phone can idle on wifi+2g for days on the stock g1 battery even after a usb unplug.. but on more common use with syncing services its not performing as well as I'd like..
Some of it is fixed with less swap/compcache or changing clock speeds 122/480 for most the speed but lower voltage levels. Also the interactive governor may work better.. I'm testing these ideas if results are good my next kernels defaults will use them.
Cm/pershoot have some interesting new power management code from other htc devices.. So hopefully soon all will be better. (I merged most of it to my kernel but there are some loose ends.. works well untill the phone locks up.. so no public release yet)

Ok sorry I talk without knowledge. I really don't know the effect of the cm kernel. I only know that all roms based on cm release, with cm kernel, are so heavy and slow.
I like your rom (2.2.1 AOSP) and I love your new way to get 14mb.
But I have this orrible problem. My phone has a lot of battery drain when I use it. With screen off, no problems.
I have never used swap or compcache in this days, and I also try different clock speeds (not over 528mhz).
The result is that when I unlock my phone, I go to settings, I see for example 95% battery. Ok, I return to home, I open a message, I return to home, I open contacts and I scroll some contacts without make calls.
Then I come back to battery settings and I see that is 92-93%..
in 2 minutes of soft use.. I think this is impossible. If I open stupids 2D games... ahah in 5-10 minutes my battery lose 10 - 20%.
I remember 1 year ago, with 1.6 (no cyanomod) my battery was good.
Now it isn't (I have a new battery).
Today I flashed aosp 1.6 with your kernel for 14mb (I have new radio&spl) but nothing... I lose a lot of battery percent as in froyo.
So I think problem is or battery calibration, or something to wipe, or cm kernel, or new radio&spl + your new kernel...
Now I'm recalibrating battery (is at 1% from 2 hours, I'm not using it.. ) then I will recharge for 8 - 9 hours and then wipe battery state, but I have done this process a lot of time without a benefit.
I'll try to remove the new radio+spl (so also using standard kernel) if my battery continue to lose percents so fast.
I'll keep you update on my "story".
PS: Sorry for my bad english!! XD
OK.. after a day of low discharging and a night of 8 hour of recharging, I wiped battery states, I wiped data-cache-ext ecc... I flashed aosp 1.6 and ezbiff kernel..
"battery drain" continue...
I will try tomorrow to reflash death-spl and old radio..
BTW, is normal for hours battery 4v at 90%?
On the back of the battery sais 3.7v... I thought 3.7 was the voltage for 100%
Update
I know this thread is a little old, but I ran into this problem as well. What I found was that the official US radio (2.22.23.02) used considerably more battery than the international one (2.22.19.26i). The other thing I noticed is that switching to "use 2G networks only" in mobile networks settings and disabling data over mobile drastically improved battery life.
I also noticed that wifi used a fair bit of juice so my recommendation is to disable wifi if you're going to be on the go for a bit, and disable data/3g if you're just going to be hanging out in the local webcafe, your/a friend's house, or some other location with wifi access for a while.
If you wanted to be ambitious and cared enough you could write a script to use as a shortcut on the home screen to do the swap automatically (detect which setting(s) are enabled and swap them to the opposite).
With those changes, you should get much better battery life. My thoughts on different Froyo flavors is that possibly different builds have different settings by default. Cyanogen comes with data and 3g enabled by default so this will quickly suck out your battery if you're running your 3g, 2g and wifi antennas all at once.
The stock build (1.6) got about the same battery life as I'm getting now with those settings applied. With either build, having all antennas on all the time will drain your battery very rapidly. Being a little more cognizant of the settings (perhaps you also had it set to 2g only on the stock build) you're using will significantly improve your battery life. And when I say significantly, I mean night and day (but the antenna version definitely does also make a difference... at least in my case).

[Q] LG Dual best stable&batterysaver configuration

Hi all
I'm looking for a stable congiguration for my new Dual and for a better battery duration.
My configuration and settings are:
Stock rom 10d
Swift extreme kernel
Set cpu (overclock 1200MHZ e downvoltage -75mV)
Data connection always activated
Push Gmail
No background data
Little wifi
No 3G and GPS
Very little gaming and web navigation
The duration of the battery is less than 24 hours but I read on the internet better performance for many users.
I tried Cynamogen 7 but I prefer the stock Froyo rom (waiting for Gingerbread from LG) and I'm interested in the Modaco FR19.
Others problems are 1) unstable skype 2)upper min voltage (323 MHz) then with original kernel (about 250 i think)
Have you got some good suggestion?
Thanks
I had excellent battery with v20c. Its the best for battery 'til v20e arrives.

AFAIK v20 is Gingerbread. You have already GB for O2X or is it a typo?
I'm having an excellent battery life on my p990h with CM7... It's been up for 28 hours and I still have 40% battery left. Using auto-brightness, 2g unless I need to brownse heavy sites and switching data connection off when I go sleep (it drains 0~1%/night)... And I've had similar battery life with official v10a-h. When I bought the p990, battery was a major letdown, but after a few charging cicles it got better. Now I usually plug off the charger at 7am and don't need to charge again until the other day's late night...
And sorry for my bad english!
I had awesome life with v10d..with hd games bring played for 3 hours,3g for like 8 hours, browsing for an approx combined time of 4 hours on that 2 hours on wifi..music for an hour or two.roughly 3 hours worth of calls...auto brightness, hypatic thingy off..gestures switched off.. no vibrate
used to last up to 25 hours
Sent from my LG-P990 using XDA App
And loads of messaging..
Sent from my LG-P990 using XDA App
*hd games being played
*Haptic thingy..
Sent from my LG-P990 using XDA App
I went back to original kernel due to high instablity.
Now I'm also more satisfied of battery duration. With:
-stock rom and kernel
-no 3g
-wifi about 1 hour
-plane mode at night (10 hours)
-push mail
-background data for gmail
-wifi positioning
-about 10 sms
-about 10 min of calling
-whatsapp chatting
-setcpu for lowering cpu speed in st-by and with less than 15% of battery
this is the situation:

[Q] Good kernel/rom combination for me?

Hello,
I'm currently running:
Slick2x-F V4.5 (android 2.2.2)
+
HTC Sense 3.0 theme
I'm not sure about my kernel, I haven't flashed it but one of the roms I used might have flashed it, not sure.
I'm looking for a good rom/kernel/theme combination which looks good, performs well and maybe the most important thing, gives a good battery life. A good battery life is about 15-20 hours with about 2-4 hours of heavy usage in those hours. I currently get around 14 hours using the phone heavily for around 3 hours a day.
The current combination I was looking at:
ROM: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1254359
Kernel: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1295486
Theme: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1178640
Will this get me good performance + battery life?
I can tell you one thing for sure: any GB based ROM will be less easy on your battery life, it seems like Froyo releases are better are that, ATM.
I am currently using Topogigi's ROM, with SP 1+2+3 applied, and have just flashed HP kernel SR1 so it is too early for me to say anything on battery life; beware, though, that the latest HP kernel has a very strong vibration even in haptic feedaback and this in my case messed with the 'tap side' gesture to move in between your text... I had to disable this feature or the cursor would keep randomly jumping to the left.
If you are looking for best battery life, stick with Froyo: using stock v10d I managed to use my phone for two entire days with light usage.

Thanks, I'll keep that in mind
for me, i use GR4 modaco(v20j) 2.3.4
Code:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1181407
and the kernel i use neoblaze
Code:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1200726
the combination is good, i get 6452 score on antutubenchmark(oc 1,4GHZ), and it's still using ext3
you can use horsepower kernel from spica check the development section. i think it's pretty fast support ext4 (haven't tried to flash it) and it's already stable release
Code:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1295486
or you can use CM7.1 it's 2.3.7 and the function like bluetooth audio & fm radio already functioned
or miui or any other rom in the dev section. have fun flashing
I'd say that the most stable rom is topogogi 2.0 + all the 3 sp's.
Combined with the sr6 kernel from spica it is very battery efficient (About 1 day
and 14 hours with light usage).
If you want to get a lot of juice out of your phone then get a froyo ROM.
Just wait a few days untill v20l roms start popping up, they probably have increased stability + battery life

They don't... They only updated the ROM not the kernel so the kernel should drain the same amount as it did before (and from my experience that kernel drains a lot!).
I vote for MIUI 1.10.28+Owains tweak pack (with swiftextreme)

ODD_KL3- best stock kernel !!!

Guys did some one try latest kernel from India
"CF-Root-SGN_XX_ODD_KL3"?
Flash it and check setting scrolling !!!
Benchmark reselt same like every kernels...(linpack 106, quadroStand: 4890)
but the scrolling are so smooth. (im sure is driver modifications)
Probably best stock kernel is here !!
(im on romow v3.5 by mowno)
CF-Root-SGN_XX_ODD_KL3
Not only that I installed the whole Indian software version on my European Note and I can tell you the damn phone flies now, lag is greatly reduced, battery life more than doubled exact same usage, reading around 1000 rss feeds during the day, check email 6,7 times a day and 2 hours +/- of music reading. With old rom versions it did not live past 14/15 hours now it can do up to 48 hours and still have more than 10% left. no heavy usage but nevertheless I can finally use it with no fear as I think a smarthphone should be used.
Exactly!yes I found samething!
Unfortunately I can't see any difference performance wise to the FM-Kernel I was using before (1.4 & 1.5).
But battery usage when idle went through the roof. Loosing 3-4% battery per hour

[Q] [i9000] Team ICSSGS RC3.1 - Battery Life

Hello everyone!
I've installed few days ago the onecosmic's ROM RC3.1, beatiful, perfect, smooth bla bla.
The problem is: i'm seeing so many post of people saying that with full charge, phone can stay alive for an average of 1 day- 1 day and an half (24-36h) with a normal use.
My phone can last 13-14h staying most of the time in standby and it's the 5th cycle so should be "stabilized" now. 1st cycle was awful, 8h (didn't expect anything else), then things got better but i've reached this cap of 14h.
I've tried Fugu kernel at first but i didn't get much improvement so i switched to paul kernel and changed modem too (jvk->jvt).
Still can't reach the dreamed 24-36h, i mean, i don't care about having 2 days of battery life, i would like to use the phone without having to charge it in the middle of the day.
btw nstools installed and set Deep Idle on, which seems to works just fine for me with the paul kernel.
(can't post outside link -.-)
nstools stats:
h*tp://i44.tinypic.com/6duvzb.png
does these stats means it's working?
i'll post also CPUspy stats:
h*tp://i43.tinypic.com/35052qf.png
is it everything ok here?
On standby there's no battery drain effect now, but when i'm using it, i get 1% down every 1-2 min.
What do you guys suggest? do i need to try other kernels/modems? shoud i try to flash again?
p.s. on 2.3.5 stock i used to have 24-36h but there's no way i'm going back to GB, i love ICS.
I used to have 24h of battery life, but I don't know what happened, after a week or so now my phone is draining 20% every hour, dead by noon...
Tried NStools with undervolt, and it didn't change anything.
It's now an useless piece of junk... this is retarded, either i will try reinstalling ICS or im going back to GB.

maybe your problem is caused by an app, or more than one, which are using push notification, you sould try uninstalling some...
Tried undervolt too, i got maybe an hour more.
Update: i just flashed again with RC3,1 and paul kernel. Situation seems a little better, gonna update again after few battery cycles.
What thing is in the battery status menu?

sure! with the new paul kernel the battery life is better! amd now i'm trying the last glitch...my phone seems to work better...!i will hope to have also a good battery life without hard drain (with didle support maybe it's possible!)
actually, there was a lot of "Android OS" usage, maybe something went wrong from the beginning, the phone wasn't going to deep sleep state when put on stan-by and use more cpu than necessary when active, that must have been the main issue.
As i said, installed RC3.1 again this morning now everything is gooood
Lots of facebook, whatsapp, camera and 1 call, still have 67%. When put on standby battery almost doens't drop at all (checked on battery graph).
I think it's solved
I've the same problem. my battery life sucks...
Now my question. Where can I find/download the paul kernel? I#ll re-flash it too .
And my second question, do the "devil - der teufel" kernel do a great job too?

dunno about devil kernel, i read that for someone is even better than paul and it solves also "green screen" issue that appear when you lock the phone. I'm happy with this config so i won't touch it until RC4
I confirm that ,now, when my phone is in stand-by, battery usage is almost 0.
btw paul's kernel can be found here:

(sorry about the "*" in the url but it won't let me post link 'til i get 10 post -.-)
is also in the first post of the Team ICSSGS rom btw
I have flashed RC3.1 yesterday, it lasted for 8 hours. I was using it heavily to check all the features, syncing the contacts etc. I have drained the battery fully now. Will charge it upto 100% and see how long it last now with normal usage.

Battery Drain
hello everyone - I have been searching a lot abou this i9000 battery drain on ICS. I am using ICS and Devil karnel and battery lasts for around 11-12hrs. My usage is pretty normal. I dont use phone for most of the time but still it reaches to 12hrs mark. If I check battery stats then Android OS and Display (brightness is very low) are consuming most of the battery.
Please let me know if there are any ROM Tweeks or any other way to increase battery time. Or I will have to go back to GB because I hate charing battery two times a day.
Thank you.
