[Q] how to root kernel version DDLB2 of galaxy note??

my kenel version is 2.6.35.7-N7000DDLB2-CL962841
i read dr. ketans post abt rooting galaxy note in which there were roting methods for kernel versions like KJ4 bt din find ny for LB2 :/
plz help

I am facing the same issue. If I flash the latest LC1 European firmware on my phone, Will then I be able to root it using CF-root or your method.

Look to link 1 above last on my signature,you will find rom link to downgrade
Flash it with pc odin

Thanks for the quick response. So as I understand, I have to downgrade first SGN using the firmware link you have provided. That will also root the device. And then I can upgrade to latest firmware with mobile odin pro.
Sorry for asking this noob question as on SGS2 I didnt faced such issue and always used CF Root method.

one more thing i like to add, just update kernel also after updating latest ROM
for example if you suppose update ROM to XXLC1
then, you have to go here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1329360
find 'I have kernel LC1' download n follow procedure with selecting already rooted.

PHONE : N7000DDLB1
CSC: N7000ODDLA1
i got my note from india but use it in the middle east.
After downgrading to DDLA1 rom . I am a bit confused as to what kernel / flash should i use with mobile odin and how to take a nandroid backup. will appreciate if you can help me with this.

Bro I have not done it yet. But will be doing it tonight. As far as I understand, You can downgrade using DDLA1 rom which will root your phone and then using mobile odin pro, you can upgrade to LB2 firmware.

Also just one slight confusion where will u get the updated firmware LB2 when using mobile odin coz dr ketan's list only has LB1 ??
In one post i read that you get LB2 rooted firmware for note and no need to downgrade. Is it possible ?

Dear just beware b4 advising on development section.
La1 also non rootable, you hav to select older to get downgrade
You can use lb1 kernel for lb2, not necessary you should hav exactly same kernel

You can't root lb2 or la1
Just find a link on my signature to downgrade rom(1 above last on sign) flash it with pc odin, that will downgrade as well already rooted.
Then u can update rom using cwm or mobile odin
U can use lb1 cf root kernel for lb2

So i can dowload this file
N7000DDLB2---------2.3.6-------2012 February-------N7000ODDLA1---------------India---------------------------------Download (Non wipe)
and run with pc odin. This will downgrade my firmware and root the device.
After this i download this file
I have Kernel LB1 - Download This - n Extract using mobile odin or use

I need to install ICE CREAM SANDWICH DOMINATION v1.1 theme. Please tell me what all things i need to install to use this theme. Mine SGN is not rooted. I am on DDLB2 kernal.

Note that, this will downgrade your ROM to KJ1, after that you can update it.

- Make sure your SGN is NOT connected to your computer
- Reboot your SGN into "download mode" (Vol Down + Home + Power)
- Start ODIN
- Click the PDA button, and select the "SGN_XX_OXA_KJ1_FACTORYFS.tar" file
- Connect the SGN to your computer
- Make sure "repartition" is NOT checked
- Click the START button
- Wait for the phone to reboot TWICE
- Done.
This is the rooting process
What is next then to install that theme??

i just open my phone today and i checked about phone and found these infos

did not come with any english manuals, i'm pretty sure this phone came from germany .
after reading threads about the note, i find the ics rom except cm9 will brick you device easily, even just normal flashing?
i just wanted to know if there are any easy way to root this note without a huge hassle, and i bought it off ebay for 600 brand new, and i don't know if there is warranty on this or not, so i don't want to break it
my phone is white if that matters

For CWM download the file from

unzip the file and run the alread-rooted.bat. Follow the instructions in this program.

Yes, but you can always unroot if you need to send the phone in for service.

but the CSC is in french XEF so my question is how to inject or to flash only the french CSC in this rom again?

When you install a new ROM, the CSC can be changed. If I understand well your question, in your case, the CSC of your phone can become ITV. It does'nt matter your phone still work ! If a day you want absolutely set CSC at XEF value, you can change your phone CSC to XEF without yellow triangle. The only thing to be done at that time is to re-initialize all settings as at a reboot after flashinga new ROM.

As far as I can tell you need a custom kernel 1st. So far there is no kernel that has been reported to work on the N9208.
So if you would like to take a chance and be the 1st to try one of the kernels out there.....and report back. ....

For those interset, here is the instruction:
1)download the package and unzip.
2) INSTALL CROM service apk run and following the instruction to unlock
3)go setting > lock screen and security>find my mobile> uncheck Remote control and Global location service
4)go setting>develop option>turn on oem unlock
5)use odin and flash N9208-root(0901)
Hope this help and please report back your experience

The TWRP recovery so installed in Chinese language...No English
Is there any scope or info on recovery in English language

I am just curious since we can root the phone. As for TWRP, we should be able to install with the English version of TWRP right ?

Mate we wont be able to install as ours is still odexed rom.
for xposed we need Deodexed rom.

Didn't work for me only the chinese version worked for me.
