Wondering if anyone has seen a sock-type cover that fits the nexus. I just want something that slips over it for protection while in transport, so I don't lose that awesome grippy back cover.
Thanks guys!

Not really a sock but has a zipper. Mofi cases...

There are others similar to this. But I have this and worked well until I got my treegloo.
Something like this?

I mentioned two in my thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1832739
or just look here directly:
- Velvet pouch. I've used smaller versions of these for my MP3s and phones before, not much protection from major impact but good for preventing scratches. (Search ebay for "7 velvet pouch"):
http://www.ebay.com/itm/270954954612
- This whole store has nice and interesting sleeves for tablets. Not sure how protective they would be though:

I'm looking for a case with great protection like the gumdrop/active case.
I dont want to have to use the "thick" screen protector that comes with those cases, I want to use a "flap" so that when I'm not using it I close it, and when I want to use it I get the "real" screen.
I know there hard cases with a closing flap but I want the protection of the thicker/softer rubber. I know the active case has a "lid", but I want it to be like a smartcover.
However I don't want a briefcase like the pelican.
I can't be the first person to be searching for a product like this?
Thanx!
Don't think they exist

Yes I saw that guide but I am really loking for a bit more protection than the original cover.
Would also like to be able to Lock it in place so that it doesn't open in my backpack!
Also from the looks of it, the gumdrop/active case will keep there shape and not start losing there shape after being broken in!
Strange, I would thought that this is what most people would want to have?
The Speck FitFolio has great protection and the top flap latches securely.

Yes that looks like a good one, but not sure how much the hard plastic will help against a corner landning...
There's a thread here somewhere with someone making the case you want out of two others. A tpu case and the flap from one like the speck.
What about the book-like cases mentioned in some of the threads here? Where the tablet gets mounted in a wooden frame (these all seem to be eco friendly) and the "book cover" part is cloth (covered cardboard I'd guess keeping with the eco friendly theme) that acts just like a flap that you're looking for.

Got my Moko case for the N7 yesterday. Fits my requirements , and im happy with it.

Those fake leather cases with a flap, wake/sleep magnet functionality, cases are easy to get hold of and I like mine. Got it from China with a stylus and screen protector for about $9.95. Can get just the case for $4/$5 though.
The one I bought: http://www.aliexpress.com/item/Reta...and-magnetic-sleep-wake-Sensor/604378626.html

I personally think seeing it does no justice. When you see the case underwater and how it leaves the phone 100% functional its just beautiful.

I don't think I could get use to a Lifeproof case and I would probably end up scratching the transparent plastic on the Lifeproof or wearing out the headphone and usb port covers. I would much rather use something like a SealLine eSeries pouch for when I need some protection against the elements. With a SealLine, I can easily take it out and put it back in.
I saw these cases for the S3 and iPhone. I wish I had one for the Note 2. I know it would make the device fat fat fat, but to protect it from literally EVERYTHING is a small price to pay! hehe. My Note was a present for me, and I'd love to keep it in perfect condition and sometimes you can't avoid it.... until you get one of these cases.

My wife hasn't worn out hers yet, though she usually doesn't carry it around with the headphone port in place. I really like her lifeproof case for the iPad! Instead of putting on a separate screen cover, they just put an o-ring around the screen. If they did make a case for the note they'd probably do this so we don't scratch up a plastic cover.
Hi, I'm buying a G2 and was browsing the cases that are available for it. I don't like any of them - they make the phone extremely ugly and bulky IMO. I like spigen cases, but they only have the slim armor, which is maybe the least ugly of all, but still would love to see something similar to the Hybrid Neo. Any idea if such a case actually exists (stylish and protective). I really like cases that provide good grip too.
Incipio Feather Shine?
Doubt it'll offer much protection though.
Have you seen the ringke slim yet? It's, like it's name implies, super slim, and has a nexus 5 feel.

5$ eBay leather pouch. Slim, protective, hassle free, still makes your phone not look like a 400$ brick. Take it out, use it, put it back in.
Most of the slim cases will give you protection to the back side at best, while screen, the most important part, stays unprotected.

Honestly, the dual pro as a pretty thin profile considering how much protection it offers. Slight increase in size but not an uncomfortable increase

After trying a few of the most popular cases on Amazon I ended on the Spigen SlimArmor. It's by far my favorite case for the G2 I've found. It's pretty slim, makes it feel and look premium with the metalish back, and protects the front with the little lip. I've dropped the phone a few times to and it seems to be doing a great job protecting it and the screen. Plus I really like the color. Everything I want and needed.
Only con I have found is the head phone port is really small and most plugs do not fit.
Still has my vote!

It' s gonna be the melody or dual pro. The spigen is interesting too, but i heard it won't help if you drop it on the front
How wide and thick is the slim armor ?

I cant find this case for the verzion version do u have a link?
I was huntig a slim case. And I mean slim like ultra super so I looked at skins and remembered that I had a roll of vinyl veneer lying around.
It is protective, not adding any bulk at all and looks quite good according to all who sees it.
Had a quickviewcase but its like dragging around a flappy brick and it´s not preserving the slim design of the phone.
The veneer is not lasercut with precision (used a sharp blade and a hairdryer) and it is a first attempt with what I had at home.
I cannot add links to pics
I use Poetic Palette. Real slim.First time holding it. Its so smooth, could slide of my hand, but overtime is good. I guess, i got used to it.:fingers-crossed:

The slim armor doesn't add much, but it is noticeable. I recently purchased the diztronic and while it is very slim, it's a complete POS. It doesn't even fit the phone properly, I can literally jiggle the phone around inside of the diztronic.
I like the Speck Candyshell. It's a little pricey but it fits great, has a nice low profile and makes the phone feel protected. I'm also rockin the Cruzerlite Bugdroid case. It's very low profile & fits like a glove.

I would recommend to have a look at the Cruzerlite Bugdroid Case. It protects the phone fantastic and and has a nice grip to hold the phone. Also there is a nice Android art at the back of the case.
Phone with that case doesn't look too bulky at all. For me it looks slim enough.

The cruizerlite is a safe bet I guess. What do you think about color - I have a white G2, so maybe the clear case will be the best.
Oh, and one more thing - I have the D802, but don't know what the differences are between sprint/t-mobile, AT&T and D802. I understand that Verizon version is completely different, but how about the others. What model sold in the US us similar to my D802

I've been using this amCase Hybrid Bumper case for around a week now. I LOVE it. I came from a similar supcase and this one just feels better in the hand in terms of grip and button tactility.
I also have the screen protector....very clear without the rainbow effect!

Nope, it is very slim in comparison to other cases like it. I was surprised at how good it is for the price
I got this case for .01 cents on Amazon thanks to someone on the forums here. I freakin love this case! I originally bought a case from Best Buy for $34.99.. PSSSHHH.. this blows that out of the water.. price? $2.00 included shipping! Scratches? None. The one at Best Buy was full of them right in the packaging even. It was the only case they had at the time since the M8 was brand new.
Adds a little bulk to the phone, but it's not bad.. it's not a crappy iPhone! Those things look like bricks.
Sadly doesn't seem to be available in UK

"Bumper" cases came in around the time of the iPhone 4 with antennagate. Purely a case which surrounds the edges only. No back.

I was just defining what a bumper style case used to be. Even in later iPhone models where antennagate issues were fixed, Apples Bumper case spawned a whole line of similar style cases for iPhone and other handsets. Companies like Spigen and Draco continued to make bumper cases without rear sections, for design and for edge protection. Latter even made one for the M7 ( http://www.dracodesign.com/draco-one-aluminum-bumper-for-htc-one-m7-black/).
Now it appears a bumper case can mean anything. Bumper to me always suggests "around the edge or extremity". The bumper on a car is at the edges. The bumper in a pinball machine is an edge.
Phones still have antennas dude. They just might not be wrapped around the edges!

He he yup!
I kinda miss not having a "phone of the masses" as the range of cases for iPhone is virtually without limits. Spigen did some really nice true bumper cases made up of two parts one part soft bumper with a harder plastic outer bumper you slipped over the softer one.
Guess it'd be harder to create a bumper for the M8 given its slimmer profile and more rounded off edges. The iPhone was quite squared.

Back when I had my iPhone 4/4s I used to be amazed at how much people spent on their phones protection, it even got to the point where they were buying protection for their cases.
As that title states, are there any good ones out there currently? I enjoy this type of stand so I can easily tilt the phone on a flat surface to watch videos and whatnot.
I bought some Seidio stuff back when I bought my first EVO and otterbox had not yet developed an otterbox case for it. I've found all of their stuff to be A1 quality.

How much thickness does this add to the phone? I'm searching for a thin case with a kickstand. I just ordered one off Amazon but it has the magnet in the case so I'm probably going to return it because of the magnet causing issues with the phone.

I prefer cases with a kickstand that can be used vertically and horizontally. It makes it easy to watch video as well as making the phone easier to handle with one hand.
