Hi XDA,
I follow the instructions to enter bootloader mode. After switching off the phone I press power and volume down buttons at the same time. The phone wakes up and boots up normally. I've tried different periods of holding the buttons.
Please help.
First hold volume down, then hold the power button.
When it begins to vibrate instantly release the powerbutton and keep the volume down pressed until you get into fastboot

Thanks, it worked! Not so straightforward as it seemed at the beginning
he repeated as often as necessary for you to run the shortcut
Hello,
I've a problem with power button, it is damaged, and turn it on is very difficult so I've thought that the best way to do it is remapping vol- button to behave as power button and I've already found how to do it.
Could this fix work???
Is there another way to turn it on without power button???
Thanks for help
Hey guys, to explain my situation briefly and simplistically.
My phone has the vol - button broken ( permanently stuck) I remapped the buttons so it wouldn't keep lowering the volume on my phone, but it keeps booting into the bootloader and spams ( volume down pressed) until I connect my phone to my computer and open up console and write : fastboot continue
This hasn't been a major issue as of yet, but next month I will be travel abroad and I really need it to be able to boot up without a computer.
Now is there any possible solution to remap/ disable
The bootloaders key buttons to avoid the hassle? :/
I really appreciate any sort of response, thank you.
Once you boot to your bootloader, press volume up when it hits Power On. I highly doubt there is a way to get rid of the key binding

I'm sorry, but the only thing I can think of is to cut the ribbon cable coming out of the volume down button. Just open the backcover (find a tutorial in YouTube) and use scissors or a knife to cut the cord coming out of the volume down button. Only do this if it's severely damaged and you plan on getting a new phone anyway! Then you can use a volume app or press the volume up button and adjust the slider. I'm unaware if you already fixed it, but regardless that's my two cents.
Hi my volume button down is broken and everytime it boots it's in safemode.
Whenever trying to access recovery it normally boots up when buttons are pressed.
Booting into download mode freezes it, I have to do a hard reboot by pressing all the buttons.
Volume/power button work fine when in use.
I've opened up my phone to disconnect my volume button it stills boots up in safemode.
I've tried 2 new roms still in safemode.
Hello brother,
Even you flash 2 new roms still booting up safe mode, bad seen
i feel your volume down button was keep pressed maybe,,,,,maybe (it should be b coz of dust or something else).
to be confirm is that your volume button broken or pressed follow the steps below
1. switch on your mobile release the power key and Press again the power key and wait till finish the boot, (if the device get restarted it means we can confirm your volume down button was pressed & hold)
2. press home button & power button check if the device is going to download mode ( if you stuck press power button u will get exit)
how ever try to clean the volume down button inside and pull slightly. after turn on your mobile.
if your damn sure volume button was broken not working at all, then lets think about it
I am trying to get into recovery mode but my phone just doesn't seem to care at all. I tried all possible combinations and timings, it's just booting normal. Is this some security thing? How can I get into recovery mode?
Fully power off the phone
Once the phone is full shut off, wait 15 seconds
Hold down the volume up button first
Continue holding the volume button down and power the phone on, continue holding the key combination until the Samsung logo appears.
You should now be in recovery mode and can navigate using the volume keys up and down, power button to confirm.
You have got it plugged in to a PC via USB right? You can't do it now unless it is plugged in to a PC with USB

Thanks guys, the USB cable did the trick. But why is that? What an unusual way...
