Hi, friends. I flashed a few custom roms and kernels, also quite a few applications. Now I want to start fresh with a new custom rom and installing afresh applications. I do not know what kind of folders and files are in Internal SD card (accumulated over a peroid of time). Can I format the internal SD card, just before flashing a new rom. if so how? thanks.

If you are on safe kernel then yes you can format your internal sd card. Just go to SETTINGS>STORAGE>FORMAT SDCARD(INTERNAL STORAGE)

Yes you can format as above said by sahil, but make sure to copy DCIM folder, if your camera having default setting and your snaps are there. Same way copy any other folder, which you have manually create/edited like music/videos. Rest of folder will recreate as system need.
Another alternative is to mount in windows and format there, as Dr k said keep the dcim folder.

note that on some kernels, the emmc and sdcard are swapped, so format sdcard can sometimes wipe external.
Happened to me unfortunately a couple if times so take caution and remove external and format both to be sure

Hi All,
I have done repartitioning to my N7000 (using 16GB internal + 16GB ext card) with Odin with PIT file & the required *.md5 and used the 10gb Data partition PIT file.
But after reboot the application partition completed, but the rest partition not showing and giving error of "Blank USB storage"
I have tried to connect with PC to format it, but also there the partition is not able to format.
Kindly help if anybody have faced the same issue and done some solution to restore this internal memory.
@vikashrastogi PIT file is usually flashed aside and together with an entire stock firmware.
I have no clue how could your phone survive such attempt

Hi guys, I have the following issue. I installed a SD card but when plug-in it to my computer only the internal SD would show ( I was expecting both ), then I went to Storage on the phone and it was showing there, so I chose format in case that cuold help but now it's gone from there too
Anyway, since I can't seem to fix that for now, can I copy a rom into the internal SD and flash it? I don't know if CWM will be able to search there or if a certain wipe will format my internal SD.
Help would'be much appreciated.
recent versions of CWM have an option in the zip-flashing menu for flashing from internal storage.
I created a folder named CM in th internal sd and flash everything from there. Just remember the folder and you can moce item with root broswer or directly download there. In my case /mnt/sdcard/cm

More comments on my new little issue would be much appreciated
Ummm
Hey, as of now I got 1,15GB of available internal storage, no external SDCard or anything.
But hte problem is, I only got 1.15gb left of my internal storage, I barely have anything on my phone! No huge ROMS, or any other big files.
I've heard that formatting the SDCard would work, deletes pretty much every file on my phone.
Will I still have root/CWM doing this? And how do you format your SD card?
Thanks!
download solid explorer, you can grab the properties of your internal storage and it'll give you a breakdown of what's using up all the space.
And should you need to wipe your internal storage you can use Megawipe a utility developed by one of the guys here on xda. It will clean Everything pretty much a windows disk format use with caution and have a flashable rom to flash via odin or on an external card to flas via cwm recovery and of course back up your data first! Google it to find it if thats what youbare looking for.

I was running rooted stock ICS for Turkey and I installed JB for Germany after it released. When Turkey update for JB released, I moved on it and tried to restore my settings and apps. However when I tried to restore, while Titanium Backup in progress I got the error memory full and couldn't achieve the restore process. I erased backups more than one and tried to do wipes but no solution. I made a clean install again and there were about 1GB space but when I rooted and installed Titanium Backup again, the space decreased to 400MB. I guessed there was a problem about TB and now I decided to run a complete new install.
So my question is how to format SD Card completely? There are a lot of folders about apps and apps that I removed etc. I want them gone and I want my phone as it is on the first day. How can I do that progress? I tried factory reset but it didn't involve SD Card. Everything remains same. How can I erase all the things on SD Card?

Has anyone found a fix for external sd card mounting on Kitkat based roms? Every KK rom I have tried suffers from this error rendering them useless as I cant download anything nor can I install anything...only thing I have managed to do is import vcf file from sd card through file manager and that is all.So if anyone has any solution for this problem please let me know
You should have ExternalStorageProvider.apk in priv-app. Check it if there; try formatting your ext-sd with PC.

Tried that, didn't work.My sd card is in fat32 format @ the moment and I'm on Slimbean 4.3.1 it reads the sd card.I also should say that I have i9070p and I have to replace the tee folder in system/lib everytime I flash a new rom,but I think that it should have the same mount points as the regular i9070 without the p so I don't know why isn't it reading my sdcard on 4.4 roms, but it does read them on older ones, any more suggestions ?

I had problem with TWRP on GB way back (it was not showing), and repartition solved it - so it is not just for that.
Still doesnt work :\ I tried to partition it with minitool partition wizard,fedora20 and cwm still no luck Im on mahdi rom 2.5 @ the moment and my sd is in fat format from fedora disk utility and the same thing happened...I can see it from the settings/memory tab and from file manager and all I can do is import my contacts from there. What these 4 files in the tee folder actually do,and what fs does the kk support? Im running out of ideas why isn't it reading my sd...I should also note that I can see files on my sd card from file manager on kitkat roms, but I can't see files on my internal memory from file manager sdcard0
Try CarbonKitkat. Mine works with that rom, I can do everything with my extsd (sdcard1)
Tee files makes your Gsm signal works and other things that I don't know exactly.
-SOLVED BY USING ODIN, AND FLASHING A STOCK ROM-
Samsung GT-S5830
So i installed some custom GB rom a long time ago on my friends phone.
Now he gave it back to me because nothing was working anymore.
The problem is when i try to open the file manager in the phone it says there is no internal sdcard, furthermore in the settings at partition settings it shows me:
/system 183mb/ 206mb
/data 65mb/178 mb
/cache 4mb/ 25mb
/sdcard (FAT) 0.00B / 0.00B
/ext-sdcard (EXT) unavailable (not 1 in the phone)
As you can see, the phone acts like it has no internal storage at all wich make it impossible to put anything on the phone.
I have tried using ODIN to flash a factory default rom, but my computer does not recoqnize the device when i put it in download mode. so that does not work.
I however installed the lastest TWRP, to try making my own partitions in there but that also did not work.
after that i downloaded cm11, put it on a external sd card and flashed the rom.
this all worked fine, but still NO INTERNAL SDCARD.
I am guessing that my friend has been screwing with some files or whatever.
Anyone got any tips?

Why your sdcard have FAT format instead of FAT32?
Try to backup it using a PC and then format it in FAT32, but forget ext partitions for the moment

Sir, it is impossible to format an INTERNAL sd card just simply by connecting it to a pc. You are talking about external sd cards here. (that's just part of the memory the phone internal has, there is no physical sd card here).
Anyway, i fixed the problem by flashing stock rom in odin wich has reformarted, and partitioned, it correctly.
