How to check if ur phone is functioning well? - Galaxy Ace S5830 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Is there any way to check if the phone is functioning normally and don't give errors??

In stock, you can try *#0*# code in the phone app and many other codes.
In CM, you can try out the various tests in dev tools

the best way is to make a logcat and check that for errors.

[Q] Captivate stuck on i9000 bootloader.

Hello im in a bind here, i watched the noob video and made sure to do some extra searching but only found a couple of threads that were "similar" to my problem but none of the solutions applied...
I flashed the gamerzrom onto my captivate along with the i9000jvu. Problem is odin3 no longer recognizes my phone and and cant seem to flash back to stock... and the button combo doesnt really work either. I am no longer in gamerzrom i am in aokp jb build 5 trying to see if i can get around this. Yes my drivers are up to date ( i checked 4 times...)
Button combos are different for I9000: vol up + power for recovery, vol down + power or usb for download.

Did you tried to connect phone with computer and then use ADB to make phone boot on recovery?
Sent from my HTC Ruby
try this by CMD/Terminal
Install ADB
You must have USB Drivers installed for your device.
Enable USB Debugging on your device and plug it into your computer via USB cable.
Open CMD (windows) or Terminal (linux/mac). To open CMD, hold windows key, then press R, then type cmd.exe and press enter.
Type adb reboot download
hope this help you

(Q) Ubuntu development

Hi just wanted to see if any Deva are still trying to compile Ubuntu for out device as I found this post in the nexus s development section
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=38393990
and since it is nearly identical hardware in both phones I wondered
1) is any one still working on this
2) what's the worst that could happen if I flash it to my i9000 as I have used ROMs which cause my PC to recognise my phone as a nexus s in the past
Thanks for your time

Non responsive back button

Anyone know whether there's a fix for this or if I should go to the Sprint store

As far as I know the stock Rom/kernel has trouble with it's button sensitivity. If ur already unlocked with a custom recovery give elementalx kernel a try

Thanks for the info but I decided I had a little more time so I looked it up and found that same kernel hopefully it'll help

It is disabled somewhere deep down inside the framework. I couldn't find it either.

Before I put up this Help Post, I checked your ROM to see whether you faced the same issue or not... Then I finally decided to ask here... But I don't know why this framework error happening... I put the framework-res.apk of other ROM(without flashlight bug) and put it in my phone but still that doesn't help...
Sent from my GT-S5830 using xda app-developers app
I just got to know that you need to mod framework.jar, androidpolicyservices.jar, framework-res.apk, etc., which involves a lot of smali & baksmali editing. It is a cumbersome task & I recommend you to just let it be that way, ask users to use the torch.apk

Phone reboots after selecting swiftkey as default keyboard

Have you tried to factory reset and try without any app installed ?
If you are on stock ROM it might be due to ram problem but you must give us more information otherwise we can't help you.
