Who has root?
And what does this app do?
Sent from my phone.
Minor fixes implemented for Atrix HD, added atrix 2 edison to supported devices.!
Perhaps someone can clarify for me. How is it that this is getting fixes if we cannot even use this app as we are not rooted on the Matrix HD?

The fix was for the format of the partition. On the previous release I had the partition down as ext3 when this device is ext4. Root should be here soon. So please treat this release as a WIP for this device.

I have some ideas on how to root the device. Unfortunately no one of the current devs helping y'all are handing me any help. I can only help those that help themselves. At this point you don't have root because the people with the right info want to keep to themselves.
Edit: I say this because I don't have a device to try this myself, and I won't expose user devices to "test".

This is literally the thread that began the effort for my project cheesecake app. Started with a simple question. Can we unlock the bootloader of the ATRIX hd using ATRIX 4g.

Yea I tried it. I connected to the qa2 server. and did a factory reset. still august 10 build. I don't think I know exactly how to use this. I see one server says test cloud. is this the one I should try out?

ok so I am using these servers to check for OTA updates? The goal is to find an unlocked bootloader in the update?
---------- Post added at 10:27 AM ---------- Previous post was at 10:21 AM ----------
If this is the case then I have checked the qa2, qa4, q200, and q300 or whatever servers and found no update
You probably won't hear about updates for a while on this device. But checking once every 2 to 3 weeks won't hurt.

You need to go to 902 from 893 not 901. I think you can flash stock 893 in rsd, use voodoo from the market to save root, then take the OTA update and restore root with voodoo, but I'm not 100% sure voodoo works on the bionic (it does on my transformer prime)

I think its because theres a lot of new users who don't read before they ask questions or start threads. I have seen rom threads where a question that was answered 10 times in the last 5 pages continues to be asked. The search function is horrible on here but if you can't read the last few pages of a thread, or 2-3 pages of thread titles before asking a question or starting a thread then you are just cluttering up the forum. I have seen a few devs leave simply because of all the people that wouldn't read a few pages, or even the OP before asking stupid questions which have already been answered. Also the moderation in some sub forums is horrible, that's another big reason I've seen a lot of devs leave.
Thank you for the explanation. Makes sense.

It isn't hard to keep root. ROTA893 is your friend
Hello this is my first time here and this is very different than the xperia play section. Well my friend has a moto droid and.I would like to know how to.root it and unlock the bootloader. Also what is the fastest and most stable rom? Thank you for your time

...first off, wrong section. This should be in Q&A.
Second off following any of the below advice is at your own risk (mainly because this is 100% from memory and I can remember things wrong sometimes ). Before you trust what I tell you I recommend reading the Q&A section, as I assure you you're not the first person to ask how to root the first android phone to be offered by Americas largest carrier.
The OG Droid doesn't require anything to unlock the boot loader, its not locked.
Since its on such an outdated version of android pretty much any generic one click root tool should work to get root. Try super one click or the like. From there you should be able to use rom manager to flash a current recovery. Then just put one of the fine roms from these here development forums on the SD card and have fun.

Do a search on here, there have been plenty of threads, also check out droid forums, they have stuff too. That's how I learned a lot just reading. Once you've rooted its easy. A good app to check out since you're rooted is rom manager, set cpu, titanium backup, wireless tether, file manager. Always make a nandroid backup before flashing a rom or kernel( provides overclock)

you can download rsd lite and flash the clockworkmod recovery spf. It won't root your phone, but it will give you a recovery(which is better). Now just install your custom rom. Awesome! Thanks dhacker!
Just ordered the Razr Maxx HD. Coming from the old skool Epic 4G, where the devs in that community (most particularly bbelos) have begun development of CM10.1. It's amazing watching the devs. continuously extend the life of a 2-1/2 year-old phone like the Epic 4G. It was hard to upgrade and leave that community because of its dedicated set of developers. But in the end, battery life was killing me and I need the maxx for work.
So it's great to see there are some sophisticated devs like you already working on CM10 for this phone.
I have been dabbling with 4.2 but I want to get this stable first.

Will JB update help fix issues with CM10?
I'm just wondering if the official JB update we (meaning XT926 - Verizon US users) are due for in the near future fingers-crossed: I believe we were promised this for before the end of the year) will have any implications or effects on the issues with this CM10 alpha build.
Will the official JB update help to resolve the issues with CM10 alpha for Razr HD/Razr Maxx HD?

I think the only way the JB update helps is if the developer is dependent on JB binaries to get the devices to work with 4.1.

So the official JB release will have no bearing on the functionality of CM10 then?

Also, can people please report any changes they may have noticed in battery life. (possibly caused by wakelocks - a problem I was getting with CM10 on my HTC One V)

Hey guys so after days trying to fix the camera I bricked my phone and waiting for replacement now. ICS camera won't work I was able to get it to connect but then it would crash and the device would reboot. We need boot loader unlocked or 4.2.2 I'll be back to give it another try .

Are you positive you bricked it? I find it very unlikely that you could brick your phone in Safestrap.
