I recommend flashing stock GB firmware instead of ICS, just in case if you have to wipe after flashing (sometimes it won't boot unless you wipe in recovery) and you might be already aware of brick bug on stock ICS kernels.

I might be wrong with this, but I sort of understood from our High-Lord Entropy that factory reset has the same effect as full-wipe...
Again, might be wrong...wait for a second opinion.

Got that, I am talking about wipe after flashing stock firmware. It is better to flash GB instead of ICS, so that you can safely wipe after flash.
By the way factory reset and wipe from recovery both can trigger that bug on stock ICS kernels.

Thanks for jumping in Doc, he was on std version only, he has just wiped all three this time. Is this happened just because of changing kernels? I once flashed Notecore over Speedmod and lost my root.

One think i have marked not to force reboot till media scanning finish. Perticular before flashing. Otherwise later hav to wipe data sometime.
In my 100 flash i got only 1bootloop and that was with terminating meria scanning.

It is not a good sign. Looks like a case of superbrick to me due to emmc bug. Probably will need repartition with custom pit or adb.

Hi guys,
I normally try and work this stuff out for myself (as you can tell by my join date and my post count) but this has me stumped..
I was attempting to change ICS rome and somewhere in the process something went wrong...
After many unsuccessful attempts of flashing, stock ICS & GB, Abyss.. I checked the partions for errors and found the actual size of p-10 was different than the reported size by 1kb.
So, tried the e2fsck fix- it reported that it had corrected some errors.. I tried flashing again and agin- no success.
I then deleted the partitions, recreated them and reformatted in CWM. ADB reports no errors on any partition. When I try to load an ICS rom, it installs then hangs when it gets to the screen where you select the language.
I can successfully install a GB rom, but after a couple of minutes I start getting errors- then the affected app closes.
Any ideas?
Thanks

Which ics rom were you on originally before you tried flashing to which ics rom? Did you perform any wipes while on ics? Does sound like you have a good understanding of emmc bug and partitioning so forgive me if this all seems mundane.

If you are using the OC kernel maybe that is causing some issues. As you are in a safe kernel, you can try to flash the standard version of Notecore in CWM recovery.

Since you cannot even boot in cwm recovery so flashing kernel through cwm seems impossible, try flashing STD kernel using PC odin (if you can handle yellow triangle and all) OR simply flash rooted GB again.

Is the v14 a safe kernel..... As in the phone was a lot smoother while using the notecore.... Which is the best version of notecore
V14 is obviously safe, just issue is delayed loading recovery There is no other performance issue reported.
my galaxy note was having its update installed last night....then rebooting was to be done...when i pressed ok..rebooting began but it is stuck in samsung logo....
the update was from software update option in phone itself.

On what firmware was your note before update (e.g. 2.3.5, 2.3.6, 4.0.3, etc) and how long did you wait? Try rebooting first either with battery pull or without.
Just flash any GB ROM (Find it on first link on my signature, post #2)
and wipe cache and data from recovery.
Dont wipe on existing ROM, may be you are on ICS after update.

your device will boot normally

Hi guys. I got a real weird problem or so.
I was on a kingdroid rom based on 4.0.4.
Everything ok, no problems, until I turn off the cellphone to take the SD card. From that moment my note just dont turn On.
The thing is I was able to go in to recovery (nice), so I flash a safe kernel. All ok.
And then after a full wipe I tried to flash a rom, and here is the weird stuff: After flash any rom, the cellphone go into restart, everything is new but surprise, am still in Kingdroid v7, even when I flash a 4.1.2 based rom.
I tried many many times, and always the same. I canĀ“t flash a new rom.
My kernel is the Philz one.
Hope someone knows what is happening.
Did you wipe data dalvik cache? If you still have issues you can wipe /system before flashing new ROM (recommended)

I can full wipe, and format/data, but when I try Fromat/system, recovery get freeze. :/
You mean Format/system, right?

It concerns me that you can't wipe /system
Hopefully someone can chime in here
you can try flashing from diffrent CMW recovery version.. try flashing speedmod 3-15 and reboot recovery and try to fullwipe and install..
i had weird problem when using diffrent CMW like abyss. i had quite similar problem..
try Speedmod 3-15. it is safe and flash speed is faster

When I try format/system, recovery freeze and the phone restarts. And the Rom is formatted, so I have to put all my info again (select lenguaje, config wifi, config google account, etc). And still in kingdroid.

The only thing that change was the kernel. So i have Philz again.

You may want to try flashing stock gingerbread (pre rooted from dr.ketan) from PC Odin...
I had some weird issues once and it reset me..

Yep. I will do that.
now I lost recovery.
The phone just get to "samsung galaxy note gt-n7000" and stay there.
I can go on donwload mode, so I will try to flash a stock rom.
Thanks guys. I will report tomorrow with news. Hope works.
Do that stock GB (pre rooted) though not ICS...in PC Odin... that way when you wipe you can do it safely in stock setup without having a custom kernel...
Then just flash whatever with Mobile Odin

I tried with four different roms.
So I tried with Odin, with no problems in the process, but when the phone restarts just get to "samsung galaxy note gt-n7000" and stay there.
Now even the batterie freeze
are you sure that the Odin flash was successful?
if yes, the now try to boot into recovery and do a factory reset, reboot again
Ok. good news. I tried a few times with the GB pree rooted of dr.ketan, with no positive results. So I tried with a diferent one, from sammobile. Is a stock from my country. This one works.(a little hope). Well, now the phone is crazy. super unstable. But, is something.

Yep. Odin flash was successul. With green colors and all. But at restarts the phone was freeze and no chance to get recovery mode.
As I say in previus post, now the phone turns on,but is unstable. Is a stock GB rom.
I get a lot of error messages like:
Android.proces.acore has stoped.
com.android.phone has stoped.
So the phone is unusable
ok great.. this is the time when you HAVE to somehow get into the recovery mode and do a factory reset.. coming from a ics rom will give these errors.. just needs a wipe

Ok. I flashed the Pre-rooted again, and now I am in recovery mode. OMG xD
Question. IS safe to do a full wipe in this kernel? or do I flash a safe kernel, like speedmod??
Am gonna search a new religion to believe or something after this.
Edit: Ok, after think about it I did it a full wipe. (I am on gb so no problems)
The phone is OK. fully working!!! omg guys. Thanks so much!
Am gona do a resume of my problem, maybe gonna be of help for someone.

thats the reason why I asked to confirm.....
if you wiped on stock ics rom in stock recovery then it means your phone is bricked.
Phone getting stuck on factory fs during flash via pc odin is another confirmation.
Follow the guide in this --

If you have warranty then go to service centre and get motherboard replaced ( a better option) but tell them you were trying for update and phone did not reboot.
ok, recovery mode (CWM) is on now

We need to be clear here. Did the wipe occur on stock 3e ICS recovery, Which is NOT a CWM recovery. OR did the wipe happen AFTER reflashing CWM.zip (the one from you-tube or wherever - originally used to root phone).
If the latter, then we are talking about a true SUPERBRICK. ie: repartition or new MOBO being only options.

no bro, no warranty left. too much pain bro...... i really love the note. and still trying to brig it back to life. what about ur device?
Mine got replaced under warranty. You need repartition or fork out big bucks for new MOBO. Try hg42's method. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=26428986

this is not warrantee issue, you voided warrantee by doing stuff. And you used cwm. zip known to be unsafe...why? Who told you to use cwm. zip?
life saver!!!
