[Q] Galazy Note Gingerbread vs Ice Cream Sandwich - Galaxy Note GT-N7000 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

What is Galazy Note Gingerbread (GB) and Ice Cream Sandwich (ICS)
what's different between them~thx~

Well Ice cream sandwich its a big improvement over gingerbread.. If you want to change and use a stock ics the only thing you gotta do its to flash a safe kernel after the upgrade..
Search in Google for more details about differences between those OSs

They are the OS that runs on the Android Platform. Think Windows 98 / 2000 / XP / 7..
Each OS tends to lend newer features to it's release as well as stability and functionality improvements. I'd suggest a quick Google..

ICS is fastest than GB on our Note, but it seems slightly more expensive in terms of battery...

Don't forget about Jellybean now!

Yeah i hope jellybean will have no superbrick bug issue, because this ics is a bad dream, your always on your toes.

Google is the best way to find the difference between these Operating Systems

Becoming operating system looks great

Also, Samsung has announced that even the Galaxy S1 will be updated to 4.0
So MIUI based on 4.0 will be possible for a long list of devices. You just gotta wait till it's done.

Witch Rom?

Witch is best rom for lg optimus 2x?
Only ice cream or jelly bean roms.
Sorry for my english.
In my opinion cm7 is still the best ROM.

i used cm7 for 3 month now.. and now im going to try djangomanouche... You should test some too..
I am a fanatic of customization and so I tried many Rom
from a cm7 and custom cm7, and many gb MIUI ics. Currently I have the v4 MIUI hariel by almost 2 months and this is worrying for me as I like to change,
it is evident that this MIUI v4 satisfy me, complimented hariel.

development is going on the cyanogenmod for our device if it gets ported successfully there will be great chances for future upgrades too like cm for android 5.0 etc. so wait for the same :fingers-crossed: ....beyond that there is no straightforward work going on porting the stock android 4.2
Sources for the novathor are unavailable. So no.

[Q] Need update advice for Captivate

I have a Captivate that was unlocked by ATT. It still has Eclair 2.1 and I want to update. Does anyone have any advice as to which would be better, Gingerbread, IceCream, JellyBean or KitKat?

JellyBean imo. The cappy doesn't have the hardware to run KitKat smoothly.

In my experience light JellyBean 4.2.2 ROMs run best on Captivate:
CM 10.1.0 Stable, SlimBean build 8, GamerzROM v4.0, ported CyanAOSP v.4.0.0, ported SuperNexus 2.0, etc.

I recommend Jelly Bean because ICS has native lags
Besides being very stable for daily use

I gotta add my thoughts on this, James Bond European .205, that's the one I stuck with, plus it's global
