Thanks to Android Revolution for providing the nandroid backup of his T-Mobile Note, here's a complete stock, rooted, deodexed, zipaligned ROM. I'll look in to releasing a modified framework-res.apk later that adds SIP calling settings and modifies the auto-brightness levels. If no one else does it first, I'll probably look in to adding the extended power menu to make it easier to reboot in to recovery and maybe see if we can get the 15 toggles mod that works on many AT&T roms working too.
I didn't remove any apps, so if you know there are things you don't want, feel free to open the zip and delete things out of /system/app before flashing. Suggestions on what can/should be removed would be great too.
This does not include the modem so flash that separately if you want the latest T-Mobile modem. I'm working off of an AT&T Note so it's easier for me to keep the modems and ROMs separate. tomin.fhl already has that posted for you here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1837907
Thank these folks for making this possible:
Android Revolution and all the folks releasing bits from the T-Mobile Note.
www.androidfilehost.com for providing free hosting
electron73 and flappjaxxx for releasing stock-ish AT&T ROMs that were very helpful to me to figure out how to put together the flashable zip
Download: http://beta.androidfilehost.com/?fid=9390034591667978483
Mods that work:
I tried a couple of the 15 toggle mods for AT&T Note UCLF6 ROMs and they seem to work as is. If you like the toggles go ahead and try them and be sure to thank the creators if it works.

Edit (09/02): If you're looking for a stripped down version, I've customized the ROM more or less to my liking and have uploaded it for others to use. These are the changes I remember off hand:
Removed:
TouchWiz "stuff" (launcher, widgets, supporting APKs)
Samsung keyboard/TTS (keyboard wasn't working anyway and I don't use it so didn't spend too much time figuring out why)
Most of the wallpapers, including all of the live wallpapers
Some Google Apps (new Play Music/Video, a few others) as they inevitably end up out of date anyway and need to be updated from Play Store. The ones that I left in the system partition have been updated to latest available on Play Store.
Other T-Mobile add-ins (if you actually miss anything that was removed you can grab it from the full stock ROM)
Added to system:
Apex launcher
Hacker's Keyboard
Google Now (from this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1747224)
Edited framework.jar to include the 4-way reboot option to restart in to recovery (based on http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=24303020&postcount=13)
Edited framework-res.apk and added in the native SIP calling settings (based on http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1109962). Also tweaked the screen brightness when on Auto to be a bit dimmer (based on http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1541180).
Added as non-system APKs:
T-Mobile My Account (overlaps a lot with Access T-Mobile, I'd pick the one that works better for you and delete the other)
ES File Explorer
Titanium Backup
Solid Explorer
aLogcat
Chrome
I've been using this build for a couple of days and it has so far been problem free for me. If the camera closes on you after initially loading the ROM, a reboot seems to fix that without it cropping up again. Last thing on my to do list is to look at replacing the T-Mobile tether app (I don't tether too often so it hasn't been a priority). In the future I'm considering replacing the S-Note and S-Memo apps with some of the community/other developer note (Memo/Papyrus/etc) taking apps, mostly in preparation for a jump back to Cyanogenmod ROMs once they gain a bit more stability.

Can i flash this on my rooted att note with sim unlocked?
I never knew that we could remove or add system apps inside the zip and have it flash without any problems. So I could add the cerberus security app? and remove t-mo bloat? then flash via cwm?
I know this is a basic question. Would love a "dummies" answer if possible.:silly:
I can't wait to get my T-Mo note for some HSPA+ lovin'.
Thanks a bunch for this (thanks button hit).
Excellent, more flashing!!!
I think in the next month or so, we all will be doing a lot of flashing!

Uploading it to my phone right now through Kies Air, will try it out after. I think I might reset data and start new, see if that will make things faster and less problematic.

It works fine on the AT&T Note, that's what I used to test with. Just make sure to use a modem that is modified for i717 since using both the mdoem.bin and amss.bin straight from a T-Mobile Note causes it to run about 10 times slower than normal. I know tomin.fhl, jeet92 and others have different combos that work and I may do a little testing too next week when I get some time. Doesn't look like we can expect any breakthroughs in speed though unfortunately.

Yep, you sure can. I usually make a few changes when I download the zips for other ROMs, like modifying the framework-res.apk first to allow for native SIP calling, then saving it back in to the zip. Other interesting things to do is to add in the Google Now files that were modified to work with ICS so that you don't need to copy them in after a flash.

Kerry, do you know how to change the port on T-Mobile wifi calling? My company blocks this port that tmo wifi uses and it gets an error every time at work. At home it is fine.

It is working fine, I'll test the radio out when I'm out door, my reception suck at work. These brick buildings are the fault.

I'm not too sure about that, but my initial guess would be that it's not possible. Some quick Google'ing came up with UDP ports 500 and 4500 that are used, but that would be set on T-Mobile's servers so having your client try to connect on a different port would result in no connection. Have you asked your IT department if they could work with you to find out what rules could be added to the firewall to allow Wifi calling? I know some companies will install repeaters to help get reception for their employees if they're in a bad area, and this would be an effectively zero cost to them solution.

Samsung keyboard
Hey karryt,
Had a small force close issue with the Samsung Keyboard on your rom. I reverted to my pre-rooted image and it went away. Let me know if you need anything to help smooth out the rom because having a flashable zip would help me out as well.
Thanks for putting together this ROM. I am testing on my ATT i717 using Blaze modem. I will give it a test run over the weekend.

English UK Locale?
Which language/region locales are included? Might English UK be in this or is it the same as the standard T-Mobile stock? Also, will a T-Mobile Note still work fully on their network with this ROM? I got confused by this radio talk.

I'll take a look at this but might not get to it until next week. I did get those FCs sometimes also, but it was better when I factory reset even when flashing over the same stock image. For now using a different keyboard seems to work fine as a workaround.

This is the same thing as stock, just modified a little to allow theme-ing and flashable via CWM. Looks like it does not have the UK language listed. You can use this ROM on both the AT&T and T-Mobile Notes and it should work just fine. You're not really gaining much if you're already on T-Mobile stock ROM though unless you want to flash mods on top of it.

You must be rooted, have nand unlocked and be running a 2.x radio. Follow dadicus' http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=760651 guide for details on how to perform these steps.
Perform a nandroid backup of your current ROM, in case you change your mind or encounter issues.
Apply the zip via Clockwork Recovery. It has not been tested with any other recovery.
If you are coming from another completely stock ROM (i.e. Sense 2.1 or 2.2), you may not have to wipe data. I obviously recommend wiping data (since it will eliminate any possibly bad/stale configuration), but the update script will not do so automatically during installation. Use your best judgement to determine what works best for you.

All a crook has to do is take ANY stolen CDMA phone into a phone flashing store and get it working. Actually, I think you can take any CDMA phone and dial *22807 and have it activated on your cricket account.

As far as wifi/3g ill have to look at that, i dont use wifi at all so easily missed that

Im sorry to hear that
As far as stolen phones, as stated previously, if someone wants to get it activated there are many other means to activate it, all of which have to be done at the hardware level (PST Settings), this rom just sets it up for people who legitimately run on cricket to have the correct settings.
My suggestion for you though would be to contact your local law enforcement agency if you suspect somebody activated on cricket and to report that information to them, so they can follow up with a subpoena to see if the ESN is activated and registered on their network and help track down those criminals!!
Good luck and hope everything works out for you.
token don't forget the metropcs folks!!!
possibly flash the v3/3.5 fix after installing your rom or that would be too easy? actually I did a wipe than tried your custom rom and wifi wouldn't work???
EDIT: I flashed the rom of your roms orgin than changed the necessary settings in qpst as per drunkenmojo's original guide followed by metroapn than a your metro v3 flash and everything is ALL good on my INCREDIBLE!
Thanks again for the original metroflash!
I hope you are able to continue development of this rom. My son is wanting to get an Incredible for Christmas, but he is on Cricket. He loves my phone and can't wait to get one and this will help him get it going.

Also, when I'm done using the tethering and shut it off, it kicks me off of 3G and I have to reset the phone to use 3G again.

Excellent this works. You don't need Root Explorer neither "SQLite editor". Both costs money and does not anything in addition what free "SQLite explorer" will do.
This is confirmed as working for me on Kenneth ROMs.
Has anyone tried using the "easiest" method, [root] Talk 1.3 Installer? I tried using a few of those versions, following the instructions to restore back to the backed up Talk app, and none of them worked for me.... Don't know if it was something I did wrong, or what, but I'm not going too far out of my way to fix this when VTOK works sooooooooooo well, even over data!

I hear what you're saying, but I don't think installing a modified Talk app would brick the phone....... I have been wrong before though, so do what feels safer for you! I've swapped a few of them out and had no success, but also haven't had any serious issues like bricking the phone either.... I know going to a few of those will remove your Google account and all you have to do is re-enter your login and the phone will begin downloading all your mail, Picasa account, and Voice account back to it, which takes less than 5 minutes with a decent signal
I tried this app errors out swaying can't copy talk.apk

Yeah I can't imagine as likely either, but some of them sounded like they were messing with mounting and un-mounting system partitions in odd ways. Besides, it sounded like way more work to find one of those that worked, restart and flash multiple times, and so on, than to simply edit one word I would make an Atrix-specific flash for everyone if I knew how it was done, but sadly I don't.
To anyone that does know how: just make a zip that edits that one line in the .db file mentioned in the link of the first post. The app doesn't actually need updating.
As easy as this change is, I don't see the benefit of installing another app to perform the change. Also, I recommend paying for the SQL Lite and (I used root Explorer) apps if you find yourself using them for these types of changes. The developers should be supported when they provide tools that make it so easy to modify the Android system. Lets keep them motivated to continue making such awesome tools.
I can also confirm this worked on the leaked 4.5.91 (beta 4.5) from Kenneth.
Good find!!

the modaco installed version does not work. if you used kenneth's GB ROM, then you already have the files. go into your system/app folder, rename talk.apk to talk.bak and rename talk2.apk to talk.apk. that's it.
I've factory reset, flashed redpill and tried again with kenneth one and still can't get the video to work. Doing nothing but installing gtalk.
I get the icon but when trying to start the video, the video chat process crashes and creates a core file.
Not really sure how to debug it further than opening the tombstone.
As the crash is systematic regardless of my ROM, may I ask what Radio are you guys using? I'm on 4.5.91,

I flashed Kenneth ROM then radio. Radio is 4.5.91. No video icon at first.
Then delete talk.apk, renamed talk2.apk to talk.apk, install new talk.apk and video icon appeared and started working on WiFi only.
Then edited database to allow to work over cell data and now it works over cell data as well.
I did not do anything else except from steps above and made it work with no crashes.

Thanks! That was the issue (I reflashed), the lib coming with the rom allows camera to come through.
Putting that file (attached) in /system/lib should resolve the issue for people who like me overwrote it (or used the Talk installer).
I am working on putting together a custom Rom for the T-mobile LG V10 and I'm looking for some testers. Right now any volunteers will be testing my baseline rom, one that is as stripped down as possible. The goal is to create a stable rom with as little built into the base as possible, so that all apps are optional.
I've always been frustrated by the fact that if I prefer a clock app from the market, I've still got to have the stock clock eating up space on my system partition. Same with launchers, calculators, calendars, etc. And as time goes on, it has gotten worse. Now things like youtube, google apps, etc. have a base version sitting in system, and all your updates in /data, taking up twice the space. That is the idea behind Blackhole, that when it's fully complete, you have your choice of any apps you want, and none that you don't.
The first public beta is ready, and I'd like for some intrepid users to test it out. Be aware I will be asking you to wipe your phone to test this, I will be wanting reports of any issues you run into, and this rom will be missing things you will wish it had. Be prepared to download a lot of apps from the market, because when you flash this ROM, you will have about half a page of apps left when it first boots.
I have decided to release version 0.31 Beta to anyone interested. Be aware that there are some issues stemming from stock apps being removed, you can look through this thread for details, but here are a few:
No ability to set/keep custom lockscreen wallpapers without adding the LG gallery
Cannot preview pictures or set custom homescreen wallpapers until you download a gallery app from the market (google photos works great for me)
The following stock apps remain:
Camera
Contacts
Google Settings
Messaging
Mobile Hotspot (it's built into the wifi settings app or it would be gone too)
Phone
Play store
Settings
All other apps have been removed. This version is meant to be a baseline to build upon. If you want market apps integrated into the rom, just download them and use titanium backup to convert them to system apps, then they will stay if you wipe the device. If you want some of the stock apps back, either keep an eye on my folder for the V10 on Android File Host, as I will be periodically uploading zip files that will restore stock apps, or you can grab one of the stock system pulls and copy the apps you're missing to the correct folder on the phone using a root browser (es file explorer, rom toolbox, etc.) just make sure you're putting it in the correct folder (/system/app or /system/priv-app).
Additions:
Supersu
Busybox (files, not the app)
Nova Launcher
Requirements:
T-mobile LG V10 - this is the phone that I have, and the only model I will be working on at this time. If you've got an international version, or one for another carrier, I'm sorry, please don't try to flash this.
TWRP 2.8.7.1 - Instructions and files in this thread.
Basic knowledge of logcat, android file structure, how to recover from a soft-brick.
I also strongly recommend you backup your current setup, and keep this zip on your sd card so you can flash it from twrp if necessary
If this sounds like something you'd be interested in, feel free to flash, just don't expect anything fully-featured just yet. This is the first release, everything so far has been slimming down, now it's time to build it back up into something more useful and flexible than stock.
Beta .3 changelog:
Removed some more unnecessary applications
Removed some additional files for deleted apps
Changed the default wallpaper to something more fitting
Beta .31 changelog:

Re-added LG Update Center and Application Manager to simplify adding back some LG apps
Fixed Mobile Hotspot
Fixed a bug introduced in .3 that caused second screen to not work if main screen was on
Uploaded a .31 patch for those of you that are already on .3, so you can update without downloading another gig for the small fixes

I'd test this in a heartbeat if I didn't need my phone for work. Good luck sir.
I'll only have this device until Feb or March (whenever the M10 hits T-Mobile), but if you don't get enough testers, let me know and I'll help with what I can until then.
Can't wait to see Blackhole return!

Thanks Sonof,
Great to see someone starting to get this going. Two things.
1: This going to be Odexed or Deodexed?
2. I wouldn't mind helping out where i can, definitely not the most expert but i do have a couple others that are more knowledgeable and they have the v10 as well. so between the 4 of us, i think we can help you out. If interested and want us, just shoot me a PM and can try and help as well
Thanks again,

haven't tested a rom before but this is my first LG phone would defently like to gave a go at testing a rom out. i did notice they have much less stock apps than samsung and the rom is much smaller. i'm comming from a note four so to see the phone boot with only two screens worth of apps i was lost for a second thinking something was missing lol. PM me or just add a link here i will down load and test it out.

Still working out what can and can't be removed without breaking the hell out of the phone. some stuff that seems completely unrelated causes second screen to constantly FC when it's removed. I've made good progress though, and I plan on sending out the first beta invites tonight.
I'm in as well, if you still need testers

Uploading the first Beta now. If you PM'd me your interest, look for a response with instructions and a link in the next hour or so. Again, please be aware this is not a full featured rom yet, this is just a base with as much removed as i can manage without breaking the basic functionality. Once I get the base stable I'll start working on getting a full aroma installer put together with options for things like browser, launcher, email, bootanimations, etc. I'm looking forward to seeing how you guys can break it while I continue trying to strip out more fluff for Beta 2.
Why call this rom the PlayStore Rom? Because this rom features absolutely nothing, thats the beauty of it! If you want something your going to have to get it from the PlayStore. You can customize it any way you want. The rom boots and you can make a phone call and get on the playstore thats about it. So have fun!
Features
Google Dialer and Google Contacts
S7 Camera
Google Launcher
Samsung Gallery Left so Lockscreen Wallpaper can be changed
Google Now
Google Maps
Verizon Visual Voicemail
L Speed (for tweeks and other stuff)
Thats It No More! Dont Ask Thats why its called the Playstore Rom. If you want it download it!

Alot of things will not work or may FC in settings. This is because it is removed. Deal with it!

Note about new rom
This will require you to reinstall The PEH firmware and reroot. Once done The new rom will flash files not a system.img any more. The zip file will be alot smaller. I think this will also help on the MMS problem for some people, as the system partition was getting messed up during multiple flashes of system.img images
Recommended you be on PH1 or PI3 firmware and Rooted
Install Flashfire

In Options menu leave the box Mount/system read/write checked and click the check mark in the top right corner of options menu to flash this rom
Leave EverRoot disabled

You must decide if you want to use Google IncallUI or Samsung InCallUI. Samsung InCallUI will allow too still receive and switch to video calls and the google IncallUI will only support HD calling. To switch to google IncallUI goto settings/applications click on default applications choose calling app and click on the blue phone app. To switch back to samsung IncallUI is a little more complicated. You will need an app like root explorer and goto data/system/users/0 and then findthe setting_secure.xml and delete and then restart phone. This will restore samsung IncallUI as default
You will also want to turn edge features off since everthing is deleted
Also you need to goto SuperSU app and goto settings and click on enable su during boot and also click trust system users
Goto this thread and under Recommended Next Steps find the S7_or_S7Edge_Fixes_V15.zip or latest version and flash to fix kernel lage and doze fix.
Goto setting/about phone
Click on build number 5 times to enable developer options
Change animation and duration scales to .05 this will speed up phone
You will also have to change charging/file mode from within developer options
Remember Wiping Dalvik cache will cause phone to take up to 10 min to boot on deodexed roms
If using samsung IncallUI here is a fix for call phone FC and also location service fix

@jkruse Thanks bro appreciate your efforts. One favor, do you know where the Olympic theme is located on your first Rom? (Which folder?) I'm going to extract it from the other version and install it in this one. For some reason its not on the Samsung theme store.

I didnt mean for my reply to come across rude. I just thought since the OP looks like the other one you thought it was the same. This is basically nothing but a bootable rom with like 5 apps installed thats it there are over 180 running apps removed. I kind of thought it would be cool to be able to build your rom how ever you want it without having to worry about what you can delete and what you cannot. I appreciate the support especially on new development. Understand I have many threads and and other devices so i sometimes keep my answers short and direct especially when using the mobile app which I hate using.

Ok, that is what I thought. I just was trying to determine if there was anything else major missing from that other ROM, knowing some apps would have to be pulled or installed, hence your "Playstore" moniker for this ROM. Ok, this is a good clean base ROM for those who like to order "a la carte" down the road when the need for other features are required. I may give it a spin for the fun of it.
Cool! We are good.

I'm using the Google incall with no issues at all. Probably no need to flash if that's what you're using.
So far the ROM is nearly perfect.
Having some MMS issues again. It only works when Wifi is turned off or not connected to a network.
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. I even flashed your fix it ZIP.
Hey I'm considering installing this ROM because I live the minimalism of it. How's the performance? Anyone mind posting an AnTuTu score?

I actually found one of the battery saver apps to be causing the issue. I think it was amplify through xposed, it caused the mobile data to turn off when connected to wifi. So, i turned it off and haven't had an issue since.
Here is a flashable of the Sprint Visual Voicemail from stock for use with custom ROMs. It is fully working updates and all. Enjoy!

For kicks & giggles, try this one until I get the new one pulled and uploaded. Please lemme know if it worked cuz I'm still on Stock OS atm, working with some stuff for the future custom ROMs. Just install like a normal app cuz I could never get it to work when flashed to system. BTW, an advantage of an older VVM.apk is the lack of payment requests..

Hey, thanks for still trying! Unfortunately it dies the same thing as the one I pulled from my device before putting a Rom on here. Server and verification issues.
Update, about 10 minutes after I installed, I got an update and it installed a new version. I called myself from another phone number and left a voicemail and it did come through on the app! The only downside is that it sends an annoying text every time you get a voicemail. But it's always from the same number, so I blocked it. Thank you very much!

Not a problem, glad it settled in. I'm working on some stuff and will try to do the flashable sometime soon. The oddball thing is that it resides in the OEM partition and flashing to them is a bit new for many of us. But like I said, seems to be (or very close to) Project Treble capable (that's a good thing for potential future OS updates)
OK.. Here's try #2. Flashable, plz lemme know. This flashes to the OEM partition but may need to go to System. If so, lemme know and I'll remake it:
