FWIW - I picked up a Verizon Bionic Lapdock (Verizon boxed) for $50 off eBay, and it works just great with the Droid 4.
Cheers,
Steve

I have an Atrix Lapdock. Works also, but I'm having issues with special characters and volume control. Special characters are not the same as the keyboard indicates and volume has on or off...

The keys are the age old problem of US default layout, whereas you may be like me, and have changed the phone's locale to something else - my solution is to purchase UK keyboard stickers off eBay, and I'll simply put them on to replace the ones that are wrong.
The volume is more tricky - when the Droid 4 is in a dock (I've notice this on the multimedia dock too) it seems to treat the audio like a "line in", and so there's no ability to alter the volume. The solution on my multimedia dock where I have a speaker system plugged in, and the default was too loud, was to use a cable with an in-built volume cable, but that's obviously not possible with the lap-dock. I'm not sure how to get around that behaviour.
Cheers,
Steve.

That's the thing. I use English US and the Lapdock is from the US (has some additional Hebrew characters) and I'm certain the layout is US-International. Not sure what kind of layout the Droid/Lapdock combo is using right now.

Yeah the Droid 4 docks into the Bionic lapdock. Very nice. Also, the Lapdock is a HDMI monitor just fine which works with the Zotac ZT-DP2HD and so you can hook two to any laptop with a DisplayPort output and enjoy a portable dual external monitor solution

Anyone try out this Fm Trans / Car Charger

Looks to be just what I'm looking for, Its not going to fit the Titan perfectly but it looks like it would work.
http://cgi.ebay.ca/FM-Transmitter-M...ryZ20336QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
If anyone has one on a Titan please give us a review.
Chris
well i just bought one so i'll review it when i get it.
I'm curious... let me know how this works... Very curious to see if it works good with the Slingbox. If I could run the audio of the TV through my car speakers... I'm buying it soon after!
THANKS!
Well I got the transmitter yesterday and was initially pleased with the size and appearance. My first disappointment was that it will not charge the device while playing music. That was the point of my purchase. I have sent a question to the seller about this. I may have got a faulty transmitter.
Also the sound has static in the lower range. If you play anything with crunch like metallica, it just sounds like distortion... on top of distortion... This can be reduced by turning down the system vol on the titan and jacking up the radio but you have to remember to reduce the vol on the radio after you finish using the transmitter. The cig. adapter and charging cable is small and discreet and works very well to charge the device but when the charging cable is attached to power the transmitter the device receives no power. Also, the design of the transmitter will not allow you to jury rig power with the solid Y adapter. This would not bother me on short drives but my work makes me drive prolonged distances so the phone would be dead by the time I arrived. Also in situations where GPS is needed you would have to disconnect the transmitter and connect the power adapter to keep it functional.
The mic built into the transmitter works on about the same level as the speaker phone mic.
Tested on:
VW/ 8 speaker Monsoon Radio with aftermarket antenna pre-amp. (2x better than stock antenna pre-amp)
just to add to this...never tired to specific one being discussed but i thought i would share the one i am using found here
The Motorola T505 it works great connects to phone using bluetooth and broadcasts any audio from it to an fm frequency. it pairs with my touch every time and so far no disappointment's...it's a little more expensive but i think it's worth it. Come with a card charger 2 and the battery last pretty good.
"The Motorola T505"
Looks good! Do you mind me asking how much $$ it was?
i got it for 99$ on sale at Future Shop it's regular 129.99.
2
do somebody can work it??
Yes it works. I'm still using it but not being able to charge the phone while playing music is its down fall. I'm still looking for the ultimate solution.
Chris
Buy one of these socket splitters and use the dual adapter that you should have received with your phone. That should solve your problem. Note: buy extra fuses for the socket splitter. They tend to pop every now and then.

Just wanted to pipe in that I'm using the T505 and love it. Have had it for almost 8-9 months (I believe I got it from Futureshop as well for about $89). I liked it so much that recommended it to my dad and he bought one. I think they're now much cheaper.

[Q] Dual Charging Dock for Droid 3 with international Power-Adapter or USB-Charging

Hi there,
I am so happy that I imported the Droid 3 to use it here in Germany. Everything worked and works fine. From my Milestone 2 I was used to have a Charging Dock that additionally could charge a second battery at the same time.
http://www.amazon.de/Wicked-DUO-Doc...=sr_1_8?s=ce-de&ie=UTF8&qid=1314256897&sr=1-8
Could you probably help me, finding such a Docking Station (it doesn't have to be a dual charging dock) for the Droid 3 that I can use with our german powerplug standards?
THANKS
WHOA thats awesome!
I skipped the D2 but I'm definitely interested in something like that too since I have a spare battery. I looked around but don't see anything like it tho
Not sure about a docking station.. But I'm using the USB chargers that were included with my old BlackBerrys.. Still hasn't let me down, two Motorola USB chargers have failed on me so far.. (Guess the connector would become loose)

Pretty cheap too.
The Droid 3's dock uses a standard Micro USB input I think, so the normal Droid 3 Dock should work (I think):

VEEEERY nice! Thank you! I just ordered the dual charging dock, hopefully it will arrive safely in Germany
Thanks for your help

HD Media dock cheap on eBay

HEY ALL
Just found this on eBay and thought I would share it with all of you. The seller has a few more left and at 50 bucks with free shipping it is an awesome deal.
Pooh can't post links yet but here is the item number 110815036565, enjoy!
Just noticed that the seller is down to 1 left. I cannot wait to get mine and see how it works out.
what is that
Sent from my DROID BIONIC using xda premium
i got mine from the verizon store with employer discount for a bit more than 50, but at that price its definitely a good deal assuming you get your HDMI cable cheap. i ended up getting the bionic lapdock as well due to necessity but USB host without having to rig up your own solution is nice..
however.. i've never been able to get the IR remote to function. i've read it only works in certain apps maybe? anyone have any thoughts on that, maybe even using it through the car dock somehow?
I got it last week and have messed with some and love it. The remote works great for me now, I forgot to remove plastic off of battery... LOL It didn't come with the hdmi cable but I had one already. The webtop is ok, can be a bit slow at times but if you are in a jam and need a "PC" it does just do it.
I love streaming Netflix with my phone docked since it's charger is able to keep the phone charged while using LTE. My stock charger doesn't keep up and my phone slowly discharges especially if I have hdmi hooked up. Oh, forgot I also have the OEM extended battery installed too.
The only thing I haven't tried yet is hooking up my external hard drive up to one of the USB ports and see if I can play my movies on it.

Aftermarket Droid 4 Desktop Cradle

Hello all,
I happened to be on Ebay looking for wireless charging pads and case for the D4 when I came across a aftermarket Droid 4 desktop charging cradle. I wanted to get everyone else's opinion. It is on Ebay and ships from Hong Kong using Singapore Post. Ebay seller has over 54K reviews. Lemme know what you think:
http://bit.ly/QHih3p
Price is $17.49, not bad IMHO
I have similar if not the same exact one...
It will not activate the desk dock mode since it is only a USB connection and the new phones require USB/HDMI connections to turn this on.
You can download razr dock from the play store and use a Smart Actions action to launch it when plugged in though...
Smart Actions:
Name - (I named mine Docked)
Trigger - Charging - Wall adapter
Actions - Launch Application - Razr Dock
App: http://tinyurl.com/93wdnu3
Overall....works well, formed to the Droid 4 so that it is easy to place in the dock, charges it and with Razr Dock running it emulates the actual dock in bedside mode. Looks a little off on Gingerbread but works perfectly on ICS (clock in Gingerbread has weird different sized numbers...sometimes).

Ahh you're right! I didn't even notice that. It may still be worth a purchase because the developer seems to be on top of the bugs the dock app you suggested has.
It's a shame that for a phone as versatile as this one, that a OEM dock doesn't exist.

not totally correct. the HDMI connection is not necessary to activate dock mode. the usb is sufficient. i tore apart my
Motorola HD Dock and removed the HDMI connection because it was annoying me. It was nothing but a simple passthru, however the USB connection had some kind of circuitry between where you plug in the dock, and where it plugs into the phone. it's this circuit that kicks the phone into dock mode. I think i will be ordering this dock from ebay, and pulling my dock circuit from my HD dock as it annoys me to no end.
I think I may go and purchase this today. If anything, it'll look nice on my desk at work. I've never been a fan of the kickstand cases Verizon has.

For me the Droid 3 Multimedia Dock is a better option - it might be a bit more expensive, but its ability to route audio and video, plus the fact that it engages the dock mode options makes it better. I suspect the aftermarket docks won't even put the phone into landscape.
Cheers,
Steve.

Indeed, I agree totally, that sounds a lot more appealing. Some of the Droid 3 docks, has been a bit short of space to fit the Droid 4 into, though. But that one might work fine, I don't know.
Is it the one by Moto or Verizon?

They are the same aren't they?
I just took the original plastic insert out, and then used epoxy putty to fashion my own for a nice snug fit for the D4.
Cheers,
Steve.

Moto Gamepad Mod $49.99 at Verizon Online

Just wanted to share with anyone wondering.
Gamepad is on sale online through Verizon, they are currently offering 2 day free delivery. Some highlights below.
Gamepad is very sturdy when in use, no flex or bends on the frame
Joysticks are good to use and feel great when in use
Gamepad has 2 triggers on either side, not much space between them but they are useful
Buttons can be remapped within emulators, doesn't come with native button remap
LED lights for back and shoulder triggers can be turned off or on
Still testing battery life but gamepad does help with its 1035mah battery
Can be charged separately from phone or together using usb c
Has its own headphone jack
Doesn't feel warm after extended use
Some reviews on Verizon online are saying there are issues with games that have gamepad support, I haven't personally had issues since I only play emulators so YMMV

Congratulation.
I have one question: Can it be used as a gamepad with the PC? Connected by USB or with bluetooth with phone attached?

Unfortunately the answer is no. This gamepad only connect to the phone using the Moto mod connector, the gamepad it self has no Bluetooth connectivity. If you buy this it will only be useful on Moto mod supported phones.
