how to edit gamma settings? - Galaxy Note GT-N7000 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi,
I am using ParanoidAndroid ICS rom, Everything is superb apart from the black clipping screen. Of course I only notice the black clipping in a dark room, whereas in daylight the screen seems perfect.
In the PA rom under settings > Advanced > Screen > there is screen gamma but i can not edit it or even choose it. I'm assuming its been disabled, is there a way to enable this so I can edit the gamma settings or is there an alternative way to edit gamma settings. if there is, can anyone please share it.
Thanks in advance.

Its not working on PA but there is an option of Outdoor Mode which makes it little bit higher.

[Q] brightness help

is there any way to tweak my brightness up any help
to make it brighter you mean ?? the AMOLED screen is really bright why would you want it brighter ??
go into settings > display > brightness > make sure automatic brightness is off and brightness is set to the max..
also if you are using the latest speedmod kernel that has option in to tweak the brightness. if you have it go into recovery and check all tweaks are off ..
other than that i dont think there is much more you can do.

[Q] Auto-brightness not working: MiniCM 2.1.8 Kernel nAa 10

Hi guys!
I have an issue with the auto-brightness setting, running on MiniCM 2.1.8
It simply does not work
Even if it is turned on, the backlight is extremely dim. Also, the phone does not react to any changes of the light setting.
The light sensor seems to be working, tested with a performance/benchmark tool from the Market.
And yes, I've tried the workaround described in the change log.
Indeed I tried all possible combinations.
Is this a known problem?
Can anyone propose a solution/workaround? Please help
1. enable autobrightness from Settings -> Display
2. enable Allow Light Decrease from Settings -> Cyanogenmod -> Display -> Automatic backlight
3. enjoy the great kernel and rom
Thank you for the hint!
However it does not help - this is the changelog workaround I tried first
I have been toggling all display settings (both generic and CM) but autobrightness never works.
Any other suggestions?
try to check Use customs Cyanogen settings - display - automatic backlight
if this does not help, just do a full wipe and check only automatic brightness from display and enable Allow Light Decrease from Settings -> Cyanogenmod -> Display -> Automatic backlight.
it should work. go near a light bulb and put your finger on the sensor (small circle in the upper right corner of the phone) and take it off and you should notice the difference

Thank you!
After the full wipe it worked!
Before that I was also experiencing various issues (LED notification lights not working, clicking on a given setting would actually open completely different menu, restarts during phone calls) - let us hope that this will be all solved after the full wipe.
Quite interesting, because this was a fresh installation, say I full-wiped before I installed the ROM the first time, but who knows

Screen solution to improve the "whites" ?

Hi guys!
Sorry, its another screen thread. However, Im not enquiring about the screen blackness. Im looking to find out if there is a way to make the background a brighter/crisper white? I notice this when surfing on Goolge or emailing where the background is mainly white.
I never had this problem with my GS1, but the Notes white seems to be dull, like egg shell white.
Any apps or setting to improve this? Thanks!
Part of the whole screen lottery process, some units produce better whites that others.
Or you can goto the settings and under display disable automatic power saving something for the screen, it allows whites to go full blast at the current brightness level.
The stock browser also dims the screen (by default IIRC).
More light == less battery!

[HELP] in giving best colour saturation settings ?

I have used the default and srgb mode but both of them gives a yellowish shade to the screen , i want my screen to look cool and unsaturated . Can anyone provide the best tweaks in this colour saturation . I have elemental x kernel installed so i can tweak the settings .
Using 4.0.3 , rooted , elemental x kernel
Hi,
I use these settings (you can raise the saturation to 55):
You can also take a look here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/nexus-6p/themes-apps/color-control-profiles-t3251964

Is there a way to have an effect like "reduce white point' from iPhones?

I know there are "dimming" apps that just apply a filter over the screen. These distort the natural colors of the display and makes things appear washed out.
So I'm looking for a way to reduce the real brightness of the display below the factory default, like the iPhone's "reduce white point" or OnePlus' "night mode".
Has anyone looked into this and found a developer option or a magisk mod or an ADB command or a custom kernel setting that I can toggle to do this?
ElementalX Kernel Manager has an option called "backlight dimmer" that's supposed to do this, but it doesn't seem to work on the Pixel 4. In EXKM K-Lapse settings there is a Dimming slider, but it appears to just be applying a filter. Below that slider are some settings "Pulse Frequency" and "Flow Frequency", but they don't seem to have any effect and I haven't been able to find out what they actually do.
