Screen off timer? - Galaxy Note GT-N7000 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello developer,
Im just thinking of an app that it will display a signal (eg. Led, blinking counter at status bar) before the screen goes off. This is a very good alternative to smart eye, simple because it will not use the front camera and is not accurately working under dim light situation.
What do you think?

Upper led colors

Hi guys,
is it possible to use the upper led as notification like in the other android phones? And if so is it possible to change the colors and the blinking time?
I did some searchs about this issue but i found nothing.
I too am wondering this, i just recently noticed that on a very low battery the upper led starts flashing
yeah same here, looks lilke only design for battery status.
im not confident in an api way to change it, and it might not even flash or blink, and still not very visible.
sry but i never eard of a tweak for that, but could be interresting too.

When I had a G1, it had LED notifications on the top of the phone which were very useful. The N1 only has the trackball light but it's really sl-ooo-www... I also wish the LEDs lit up as well.

[Q] Will night clock cause screen burn?

Can anyone tell me if using a Night clock (where the display of the time is on all night whilst the phone is charging) will cause any screen problems? I read somewhere about Screen burn. I have made the display as dim as possible.
Thank you.
Screen burn happens only in CRT and earlier versions plasma displays. I don't think LCD and LED has this effect.

Yes it will cause burn-in issue. We can't do anything to prevent it. If you notice, your status bar is also giving this problem.
I thought screen burn was eradicated.. After reading this it was helpful..

Have a look at Alarm Clock Plus from the market. It's free and has a screen saver night mode, been using it for years, good and reliable app.

i loled
I use the Desk clock function every night with no issues after 5 months. In settings I have shortcuts hidden, status bar hidden and brightness turned to lowest setting. The displayed clock actually moves around screen every few minutes so very much doubt you will get burn in from this. Mine shows no hint of it.

Can the alert LED be disabled?

Hey all you lucky ONE owners
I'm planning on upgrading to the one myself soon. Just want to know if the little LED can be disabled for specific or preferably all events.
--
On the sgs3 I have, the LED is way too bright for night reading (esp when charging). But it can at least be disabled.
That said, LED control via AOSP was impossible due to Samsung's unreleased sources/drivers. Would this be the case with the One?

Hi! If you disable the led then there would be 0% visibility on the screen. The screen isn't amoled.

Thanks Riyal, though I was meaning the alert LED rather than the LCD backlight. That little LED on the upper left, under the That little LED on the upper left, under the speaker gri grill

Ohhh ok you mentioned about reading & amoled so I thought it was led backlight
Anyway yes it's possible. There's a setting for notification leds where you could disable them.

Just asking

Is there a calibration for light sensor? I use auto brightness most of the time and recently my sensor doesnt work well. It stay at the lowest most of the time unless the outside is VERY bright and when I went back to a dark room, it doesnt dim unless I lock and unlock again.

Red corner dots

Anyone else notice tiny red dots on the corners of the screen? Typically only visible in heavy darkness right after the screen turns off?
They are sensors, probably for the wave to wake feature or go auto brightness feature.

They're the infrared sensors that detect your hand gestures...
