This ROM and other ROMs for the Vibrant may have 911/emergency call issues and/or GPS issues which may hinder the ability to call emergency numbers and/or hinder emergency call location of you. I recommend switching to a newer phone immediately.

Gotcha, sorry, have to learn to be patient again. :silly:
Nexus S users are ninjas. >.>

Thx so much. I will try it.

FE, do you know why the Google sound widget "what's this song?" keeps on disappearing? One minute it's there, the next, its gone and I cannot find it... I have encountered this both on the alpha preview as well as this nightly. Is this an issue?

To udpdate from a previuos version 20120816 only flash, rigth?
I READ the OP but only to be on the safe side.

Thank you for all your work in keep the Vibrant relevant! Samsung / T-Mobile did not even provide us with an "official" official version of Froyo. To think that the Vibrant is now getting JB, is staggering. Thanks to the open source community!

Ever since I switched to Jelly bean from ICS, I keep getting an "error while cropping image, do you have an sdcard with enough free space installed?" If I try cropping a picture in gallery it works, but when trying to crop from a market app, I get that error. Any help?
I'm thinking about deleting the storage folder that has the sdcard0 and sdcard1 files, since there's already an sdcard folder present. Will this work?

Someone learned that lesson in one of the other JB threads. In JB we use a new naming scheme, /storage/sdcard0+, with /sdcard and /mnt/sdcard symlinked.

[ROM][BETA][AOKP][M6/ 4.0.4][09/09/12] Samsung Galaxy Exhibit 4G

This is a port of Android Open Kang Project (AOKP) for the Samsung Galaxy Exhibit (SGH-T679)
I am doing some work on this in my spare time but there is no way for me to fix the camera to work for aokp.I have school as well. Once jocala gets a port of CM10 I will try and port AOKP jelly bean. Just don't expect it. This rom is stable and can be used as a daily driver if you don't mind the camera not working. It is an AOKP specific issue I presume and would require skills beyond what im capapible of to fix.
Thanks to...
Jocala ( helped me ALOT )
KemikalElite ( his previous work on aokp helped me out. )
What is AOKP?
AOKP is similar to cm9 but with hundreds of themeing and customization options to choose from. The speed of AOKP is slightly faster than CM9 as well. For a full list of these features visit
http://www.aokp.co
[WORKING]
Phone
MMS
SMS
GPS
Bluetooth
Rotation
ROM Control
Status Bar
EDGE, 3G, 4G (DATA)
Theme Manager
SD Card
Internel SD
External_SD
Wifi
Wifi Calling (May not work)
Video Editor
Hardware Acceleration
Speakers
Headphones
Superuser/root
BT Audio (Untested)
[NOT WORKING]
USB Teathering
Camera (AOKP dosnt like the CM9 libs)
Emergency Calling [911 Calls]
(The fix to this is have the direct numbers of your local fire and police stations available) jocala is working on a fix for this in CM9 and once he fixes it I'll post a new update.
Stuff to Know
Internal SD is mounted as /SD card
Externel SD is mounted as /emmc
Facebook Sync is not included in AOSP, there are alternatives in the market.
Just like CM9, text sometimes disappears in gmail and other apps. restart the app to fix this.
tapping the sign into wifi option results in a fc. You must manually sign into public access points via the browser
How To Install
Download ClockworkMod Recovery
cwm.6012.t679.zip - 4.16 MB
Download the AOKP ROM
AOKP_MS6_090912_IRX120.zip - 102.09 MB
Download Google APPs (Contact Sync,Setup,Play Store, ect.)
Stock Google APPs
gapps-ics-20120429-signed.zip - 49.64 MB
Jocala's Custom Google APPs (With Google NOW and Maps)
gapps.now.20120429.m6.zip - 88.94 MB
[Flashing]
Hold home and power buttons until the phone reboots and the Samsung logo appears.
The stock recovery should then apear.
make shure cwm recovery is on the internel SD card and from stock recovery flash the zip file (should be easy to figure out)
reboot recovery again
select backup and restore and do a backup.
do a romwipe and then flash AOKP
*flash gapps
*reboot
AOKP is installed now
I would recomend a ROMWIPE if installing over CM9/MIUI but it is not neccicary
ENJOY!!!!
Good luck with AOKP!

Very impressive, young Skywalker! It feels like a beta, except for the card problem. 1% battery drain per hour overnight, with GrooveIp and Google Now on. No lag, no issues other than already noted. Excellent first effort! Congratulations! Do your homework first though.
Edit: I forgot I had to change the mic source in groove to 'voip'. Also, artifacts appear in upper left hand corner when fast scrolling thru app drawer, just caught that and it is repeatable.

When I compiled jocalas kernel in virtual box it broke the wifi. All I did was pull the boot.img from cm9 and replace it in my rom.
This fixed the wifi but breaks the SD because of the fact that cyanogenmod changed emmc to SD_card.
I tried with the cm9 kernel from jocalas 0727 build of cm9 and SD card worked but wifi didn't for some reason and I don't have the skills to do serious Modding to the kernel but I hope to fix it.
Also check your lib folder for a modules folder. There's a file in here that controls the Wi-Fi

yes it does. with aokp you can also change it to anything you like
I really like this ROM, it's like CM9 but has a lot of extra goodies. I especially like the status bar tweaks, as you may know I like my icons "small". ROM is fairly stable, with a few lags here and there but that's expected for any ROM in alpha stage.
I think I know what the external sd car issue is and how to fix it but I have no time now, so il see about it Monday.

When I try to uninstall then reinstall it say there's not enough room and that I need to make space, I know that's not the problem cause I have more than enough room, and it doesn't matter how much more room I make. I've cleared dalvik cache and fixed permissions but no change. Is there anything I can do? Or do I need to make a new card. I run mine off an SD install by the way.

What size SD are you using. And what is the brand and class. I know in CM10 if it did not like how your SD was responding, it would mount some of the SD as read only. If that happened to /data, that would make apps not work right and not install properly.
Go to /data with your root file manager and see if you can create a file there.

[Q] SPH-P100 trouble installing CM10/CWM

Googled, searched, prayed, sacrificed a feature phone...no luck.
I have CWM4xxx on the Tab with RandomROM.
I want to install CM10 (p1c), but the install in CWM barfs basically saying it cant figure out that I have a SPH-P100 (error7)
I'm thinking the issue is that I need CWM5 to install CM10, but I can't find CWM5 anywhere for this tab.

Ok here's what you do get a zip program on ur computer I prefer winrar. Open up the ROM zip DO NOT EXTRACT IT, navigate to /META-INF/com/Google/android and open up the updater script in notepad. Start from the beginning and delete the first line up until the first semi colon you see (delete the first semi colon too ) and save and close the the zip and flash

to return to CM9 from CM10 you need to restock to GB because of the incompatible MTD partitioning.
Yea...which makes it a huge PITA to do it that way. So much stuff all over the place it makes it real hard to figure it out
Sent from my SPH-L710 using xda app-developers app
what is the real issue? backup and restore?
Buy titanium backup pro.
Or is it hard to get stock ROM for CDMA tab?
The process of Odin/Heimdall restock is less than 5 minutes.
I did it many times (uncountable by now) on my P1000.
The actual step is where the pit file is loaded, making the partition "stock" again.
i am having the same problem can someone show me exactly what to delete?
i figured it out .

Ready to change my old android 4.0 for 4.2.2

Google will back up all of your apps if you opted to do so. Make a nandroid back up in recovery, as well as a TiBu backup. Then when you isntall 4.2.2 you should be able to recover everything with those 3 backups.

Going from 4.0 to 4.2.2 could cause issues though so be warned that after you restore your data you could encounter FC's. Not saying it will happen but there is always a chance. Especially considering that there is a completely different partition layout between where you are and where you are wanting to go.

Yes that would work perfectly as far as restoring apps. However the restore of user data for the apps so he has his last save point on a game or is already logged into Facebook might be a different story. With the use of the /datadata partition in JB it could cause issues. But it might not I really don't know.

I know that cm10.1 has a symbolic link, data/data >> datadata, that gets created when you flash it. I imagine that is only there to allow legacy settings to work.

[ROM][4.4]AOSP KitKat

Credit and Thanks
This is Android 4.4 KitKat for the MB886 Atrix HD. These are built from @dhacker, @epinter, and the rest of the razrqcom dev team's sources. All credit goes to them, I'm simply compiling the rom for the Atrix HD and sharing it with everybody else.
Warning
Before you go flashing this, be aware that it should be considered early alpha and things might not fully work. If you flash this and your phone dies, catches fire, or robs old ladies, it's on you and you've been warned.
There's also an issue with our Device Family in general where some phones just can't flash 4.4 or run it. If you're one of the unlucky one, pray that @Hashcode and @dhacker figure it out.

Credits and warning out of the way, if you have a successful flash the rom works quite well and seems to be pretty stable, though I haven't done that much yet. Be aware that this doesn't have root by default, so you'll want to flash a zip to root as well.
What your're here for
Latest Deodexed Rom
Latest Odexed Rom
KitKat Rom Folder
Gapps
Odexed Gapps
Root
The gapps are PA Gapps and the root is Super SU. Credits to the PA Team and Chainfire for them.
How to enable ART
Install Odexed 4.4 and Odexed Gapps -- This is a requirement and ART only works on ODEXED ROMS....DO NOT PROCEED WITH DEODEXED
On first boot, skip entering Google username and password
Instead, go to Settings>About Phone, scroll to the bottom, and tap Build Number 7 times to enable Developer Options
Go to Developer Options>Seletc runtime and select Use ART instead of Dalvik.
After you select it it will force reboot the phone, keep that in mind so you can access recovery in time
In recovery, Wipe Cache and Dalvik Cache...boot phone
That's pretty much it. Enter your Account Information and use your phone as normal....
Don't flash dumb sh!t to /system after this....
Bugs
Weak signal strength (not for all of us, but for some it's an issue)
External SD detected as read only by certain apps (Titanium Backup for example)
Hair lice (requires Nix)
Apps don't always work or install when using ART
Front Camera doesn't work
Roaches (needs tweezers and a lighter....wait, I mean Raid)
For Some, Video playback doesn't work
Plugging and/or unplugging HDMI can cause the system to freeze up -- have to hard reset to fix (hold both volumes+power for 10 seconds)
Freaking sweet. Will be flashing to test on Sunday.

External SD not mounting.
Art causes crashes (because gapps are deodexed)

Yep, but the signal is weak. Only tried 3g and 4g. Heard 2g might not work earlier today, haven't checked yet. My only real issue is no external sd and not being able to restore my Titanium backups.
I'll add that I installed this with cwm 6.0.4.4 & adb sideload as root on my pc....been too lazy to setup the udev rules so I gotta run adb as root. I won't say one way or another is the other recoveries work or not with this.
been wanting to run this on my HOXL but there hasnt been a rom made for it yet.
willing to move from holoblur to this rom once its fully stable.
Holly smokes I feel like breakdancing right now. Lol
Thanks to all the people involved with this and specially to our developer @skeevydude.
You guys rock....

dude, I haven't done much more than compile this and any one of us could have done that. Just look at the commits, dhacker and epinter get all the credit.
Chrome doesn't seem to like the Gapps you linked to, says they're malicious. Anyway, I'll be holding off on AOSP at least until someone gets the external SD working (I already tried taking it out and putting it back in like it fixed it on whatever ROM we had the problem on before, but no luck). I need my backups!

I know bro, but you to me still my/ours developer. My point is that regardless and I know that dhacker and epinter are the guys that have made all of this possible but I also have to credit you as you deserve it since you are a strictly mb886 dev-user.
Thanks to all and you.
Just make sure is not a gay sh!t. Lol

So what's "Latest ROM" that cwm aborts install of every time? And then what is KitKat Folder?

I'm on CM11 from the RAZR HD and it seems to work perfectly fine other than video playback but I can live with that for now

Latest rom is the latest AOSP 4.4 I've built, KitKat Folder is the folder I have them saved to on Copy.com, ya know, so old copies are around if a newer nightly breaks something -- more of a future thing....
I didnt get any signal with xt925...great to see 4.4 so close to our device though...
OP Updated.
New rom under latest nightly
Intermediate build between yesterdays and this had partial SD support, could read but not write which is at least good enough to restore TB Backups. Not sure if this one is read only or read/write cause I'm still on the boot animation
Awesome man! Downloading it now! Thanks!

Updated bugs in the OP
Changed no external sd to External SD mounted as read only
Added weak signal strength
I'm gonna mess with some mount commands and see if I can't get the external sd to be read/write. Wish me luck.
At least we can restore from the external sd....better than nothing.
Great news! Thank you! I'll give it a shot. If there is at least read only - it is ok for me because I'm using card for music only.
