Chainfire 3d on JB roms! - Galaxy S I9000 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Have anyone tried CF3D on SGS JB roms?Does it work?
For me, I tried to install CF3D driver of v1.8 and it got stuck on kernel screen. Had to reflash the whole firmware!!

Same here, doesn't work on jb. Don't even get to boot animation, stuck at kernel splash screen to.

went to recovery (i was glad i could access it)
wipe cache, wipe dalvic
flashed rom again
flashed gapps
reboot
back to normal. really need this for a couple of games that have problems with mali .
Don't think there is any available alternative atm.
PS: I am on galaxy s2 i9100. Just thought i'd add my feedback, even though this forum is for a different phone.

If you lot actually read the description of the app you would see it specifically says it will not work on anything higher than GB.

[Q] darky's mod 10.1

Greetings!
I flashed darkys mod 10.1 and it seems that everything is working properly. I had battery drain issues, but I calibrated battery and it seems to work well now. Some apps does have crash issues now. But most unusual thing is, after I flashed it my android version seems to be upgraded to 2.3.3 or so my phone info tells me.. how is that possible? But if it really upgraded from froyo to gingerbread app crashing is normal I quess.
Real problem is, while I start/restart my phone, screen flickers and has odd color mess and then phone starts and after my phone starts and I launch some apps it does the same thing... Is it really a problem or just some miniatyre bug?
I didn't clean my phone as I flashed it, but that shouldn't be anykind of problem.
Hopefully you'll understand what I try to say and thanks for help.

Sound like you didnt follow the instructions?
Darkys is based on gingerbread 2.3.3 if it was your first time flashing darkys it is recommended to flash the Ficeto JVH rom first, if you didnt do this, its probably why you are having problems.
But I have flashed darky before. I had 9.5 first. How can I get these problems off? Do I just have to flash JVH and then 10.1?
Sent from my GT-I9000 using XDA App
Oh. Now I got it. Yes I need to flash JVH... But I got new problem... I can't get to recovery. When I try to boot from recovery, it just boots, freezes with odd color mess and does nothing. When I press power button it powers up phone and won't go to recovery. And no I don't have CVM but it haven't been problem before..
Sent from my GT-I9000 using XDA App
By CVM I meant clockworkmod app
Sent from my GT-I9000 using XDA App
I downloaded CWM still it doesn't launch recovery... And yes I know darkymod and cwm recoveries are the same

[Q] Simply Honey 3.8 - Boot loop

Hi,
I have installed Simply Honey 3.8 Revolution Light via CWM on my sgs i9000.
It worked great!
Then I have added the Hebrew Pack via CWM and that worked well too.
However when I tried to install Simpley Honey 3.8 Medium the device started to boot loop (at the stage when it shows the Samsung Galaxy si9000 model).
What can I do??
Thanks
Did you make a CWM-backup before? If yes, it's now time to restore it.
If no, you should enter recovery and do a factory reset. If this doesn't you'll have to flash once again.
Sent from my GT-I9000 using XDA Premium App
Flash light, then medium and for last thing the hebrew package
Sent from my GT-I9000 using XDA Premium App
im having the same issue now
and i did a wipe but still in loop

Just to point out that this question really belongs in the simply honey thread, tho I did notice simone answered you

Please please please help

Hello all, I was running Rocketrom v10 on my Note with notecore v13 kernel. Everything was going great, but decided to Gove phone to my wife (got myself an s3), so I went into the phone menu and chose factory reset. It seemed to work, but now it won't boot, the galaxy note screen loads, then it just gels blank. I couldn't get into recovery, but I could get into downloader, so I successfully flashed a pre rooted GB Rom in Odin, everything worked, Odin reported it passed, and the phone rebooted, but again it goes to the galaxy note screen, then just goes blank. I'm at a total loss, still can't get into recovery ( in saying that with the new GB Rom I'm not sure that recovery is installed-I followed the guide in the forum) I'm at the stage where I am pulling my hair out. If I could get to recovery I know I could wipe everything, but I can't been do that. Any help would be massively appreciated

You had been on Notecore kernel and now have flashed GB rom successfully. That mean you are not having any dangerous kernel for now.
Should go into recovery, wipe cache and data then reboot system.
If it still not working well then try to flash another GB rom (should be able to download from Dr.Ketan's thread. cheers.
Cheers for the reply, but I can't boot into recovery, doing thenwhole volume up plus home button plus power, no joy. Getting balder by the minute

Glad you got out of it. Normally, unless experiencing superbrick which is quite rare, any symptoms like this are redeemable.

Did you install the ROM with twrp2? Also make sure you use the twrp2 for the T879, not the I717. If you use CWM you may have issues...
I used T-Mobile 879 tarp..not 717 or cw...
Will try reflash your ROM later a long..
I will let you know
Thank you for your response... lol.

Did anyone get this ROM to work and boot? I'd like to flash but use my note for work and can't afford downtime ATM. I use paranoid ATM but it has graphical glitches here and there.

I was also on paranoid's ROM before. As for Kim's comments I'm not sure as to why he couldnt get it to boot... My recommendation is to backup your current ROM, and give my AOKP a flash. Its easy to go back just recover with twrp2.
LMK what you find.

Sounds like you're s=on.
Here is the boot.img from this AOKP build - use this. It will fix your wifi issues.
liam821.com/aokp/boot.img
You can also find the boot.img inside the ROM zipfile.
So...
Do a factory wipe/wipe cache, flash the aokp rom, then install the boot.img with odlin after all that. It should boot then! LMK if it works out for you.
thanks!
liam
So I was finally able to install this.
I couldn't use the boot.img above with odin. odin would only take .tar files and I couldn't figure out how to convert it.
I kept getting the boot loop. What I ended up doing was. I installed the "ps_quincy' rom from another thread. Then I backed up only the boot file. I went back installed
this rom and restored only the boot file from the other Rom. I'm very new to this so there may be a easier way but its def worth the hassle i'm loving
this rom.
Saved for later

Got it figured out.. Good stuff here!!!
Thanks all! The 4.2 AOSP should be merged into the AOKP git soon so once thats all done I'll do a 4.2 AOKP build and get it posted here asap.
Is this rom working? no more bootloop? Wifi working fine?
Is this rom working? no more bootloop? Wifi working fine?

No wifi calling in this rom

problem booting

hello all i flashed jb xxlsc on my gnote rooted and having cwm
after intsalling apps from app backup when i flash anything on it like playstation certificates or xperiia launcher for our device it just freezes at galaxy note bootup splash screen it never gets boot till i factory reset my phone i tried differnt rom like ultimate rom latest and firmware zslm5 all have same problem i am using philz kernel latest. plzz help i wasnt having this problem on ics . plzz help this is a request
i got this problems wif xxlsc too....
i think u need to do it all over it again by not restoring any backup data as most of the custom rom might not tally wif ur previous rom.
cuz different romers have differents deodex system. check it out or someone will give u the right answer !
so far i'm not getting any bootloop when battery is flatt or during screen on pulled out battery n it's startup normally
just like official rom does !
What data are you restoring? Restoring system apps can cause boot loops or force closes.
Sent from my GT-N7000 using xda premium
Just manually paste the apk's which are needed to be in system otherwise try installing them normally don't use titanium for restoring system apps.. Just a advice
