Hy guys...
Who can say me a good ICs rom with good battery life?
Thx

With stock kernel, jellybean has amazing battery life. As for ICS, they are all about the same. I would recommend cm though.

Everybody will tell you to use whatever rom they like.
You should just try them on your own and decide yourself which one works best/has better battery life for your personal use.

Well, personally I like Slim ICS as it is, with the kernel that comes with it.
I also used Semaphore for a while with Slim ICS, it has more customization, but didn't really notice a any significant battery life change.

edit: wow.. triple posting, sorry for that, xda went down for a while.
I too am running on Slim ICS + Semaphore 1.3.0s kernel, i am getting a pretty good battery life with combination of Smartass v2 governor + Deep Idle enabled + Juicedefender + low screen brightness settings. I cant give you any numbers right now but lets say that if i unplug my phone at 12am and have a moderate usage ( phone calls, texts, browsing, fb, whatsapp, maybe a little bit music) i will have +- 50% battery left at 12pm

I've tried CM7 & MIUI but there battery life suck... Can someone suggest a good rom-kernel combo for extended battery life?

I asked about the one with the best battery life, not the one that "nice to look at".

Hi,
During the time I tried plenty of kernels and roms, I was very impressed by the galaxy EE kernel for the battery life. With normal usage (phone, sms, download, games) but without 3g, my battery lasted around 4 days.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1137595
About the rom, I did not test myself, but heared a lot of positive feedback for GingerReal2, which is very stable and smooth http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1155623
If the rom is very responsive and does not have plenty of candy and shiny fireworks, this would mean you can tune your cpu with lower speed, which will lower the battery consumption (which is possible with galaxian kernel)
I hope it helped you ;-)
Have fun !
P.S. I am surprised that you have bad battery life with CM7, because it is a very good one for that point if I remember well... Did you try to tweak the system when you installed it ?
I have had cyanogenmod 7 and miui and try a lot of kernels!
Cm7 is very good also with stock kernel, but I think that Cyanofortomorrow v1.2 is very good! You can dwl it with stock kernel or with platypus kernel.
Miui is very nice but battery life is not the best! I have a mintberry rom with glitch kernel v13.
The best kernel in my opinion are glith kernel V13 HL (smartassv2, sleep governov powersave) and platipus neo 18 didle (deep idle). For less battery drain it's very important understand wich modem phone is better for your geographic area and operator.
Hello Guys,
I'd like to know your favorite Rom ever for battery life, I don't care if it ugly or with bugs, I just want the best Rom for my battery.
thx
(and sorry for my bad english)

you might wanna look more at a kernel that's is what makes the battery life better also reset battery stats in cwm recovery

I find stock roms have the best battery life. If you really want to push it, get a basic rooted kernel w/ clock speeds (semaphore), and underclock your phone to maybe 800mhz.
try using a stock rom and a good root (semaphore/galaxian) and use low light display and underclock the cpu
Thx guys, I'm gonna try that, (sorry to respond 1month later lol)

can you please explain more about underclock your phone to maybe 800mhz
I use simplicity with special configurations in the semaphore kernel:
- Underclocking to 800MHz
- Simple-IO
- batterysave Governor
- autobrightness to dark
- darker-Voodoo Color
I also switch off Network and Auto-Sync with help of widgetsoid (see market) when not in use.

Hey, sindalf, what version are you running, I was on 2.11 using fugu(I think) kernel v3189, and my battery is not very good.
any rom with removed bloatware such as CM7 and others
try gamerz rom that is brilliant for bat life and removed bloatware
Back in the day that I didn't used MIUI ROM's I used Darky's and that battery life was great! Also the ROM was blazing fast.
Last version I used from Darky's was 10.2 or something like that (V10 for sure). Had about 2 till 3 days battery life. With slightly less usage than normal. And i must tell you that when I flashed that ROM i jys had a new battery.

Jellybean is a little bit unstable and still Alpha, but damn, the battery life is really good. at the end of a day my phone is still at about 30 - 50%. Very good.
But for the best battery life of all, use a gingerbread based rom.

It makes the phone use all pins of a usb cable connector for power only, so that it gives more juice at the cost of no data connection through the usb cable.
On topic, my experience is also that slim plus semaphore gives best battery life but experiences may vary.

For me Slim 4.1 was very good.
4.2 is again a bit faster, but i think also user more battery
I really love JB, but battery drain on every one i tested is unacceptable (i.e. 30% loss or more overnight). On gb with THE SAME modem - 2%.
In result i always go back to GB immidiately, even if I hate it.
The only good rom besides GB i've had was some old Slim ICS version... Was lasting long as GB.
So, does anyone can point me to the JB rom with no crazy battery drain?
I've even bought new original samsung battery (1650mah), but still with my usage phone lasts half day.

adjust cpu governors .... u have to try every ROM available.... at least one of the ROM will give better battery life.....
@up
it's not that. idle killing battery isn't governor related
well, MesoROM is great gb rom, but ffs, android 2.3 is so ugly and feels like an awkward beta version... damn

I am on Slimbean JB Beta 1, and when it is in standby ( without wifi or 3G ) the battery drain is very low, less than 1% in 6 hours.
But as for Slimbean or any other JB roms I tried, the battery drain very fast when I use the 3G.

i'll try mentioned above. slim bean based on 3.1 was one of the worse in terms of battery though

I'm on CM 10.1 and battery drain is acceptable (about 1.5 days) with quite heavy usage. But it's only possible with:
* network switched to 2G only most of a day
* Google backup and restore disabled (using TB only)
* location services switched off or at least with GPS disabled
* WiFi turned off when not at home (using lama to do automate it).
Try these if you do not need them on all the time and see if your battery lasts longer.

The battery life on my girlfriends note is rather poor, I'm not sure how the kernel work with the note but she's currently running jellybam. Can anyone suggests some energy efficient ROMs ?

I am using SAmsung Stock ICS 4.0.4 with Philz kernel. I have no problems with the battery.
BurtROM LSZ and PhilZ LSZ = PERFORMANCE AND BATTERY PERFECT.:good:
Rightnow my note is running on jellybam it can stand for day with fair usage

It depends on how you define poor.
There's the usual things to do, you can undervolt to help, throttle the top end, get better battery stats to check for wake locks, make sure gps /wifi /bluetooth /sync aren't on when you don't need them. Turn down screen brightness as that probably the biggest drain on battery, so using apps with light background isn't great.
You can use different governor / scheduler combo. Some people say pegasusq /sio is a good one. Some apps help either by turning off services you don't need while your not using your phone or by adding tweaks to help efficiency.
Use search for battery tips as there's a lot of information out there.
That said there's always the old gem of 'new battery' depending on how old her note is. Remember there are larger than 2500mAh batteries out there, although above a certain point the battery gets thick and comes with a new back to help contain it.
Hope that helps.
