I knew that Samsung will surely release jelly bean(OR at least ICS) for galaxy mini.
But it released for m2 :banghead:
Well not being jealous of mini2, but I had dreamt of and too have some kind of believe that Sam will surely release for mini too in good March, April in next year.

I have a samsung mini 2. Its not rooted, just stock rom.
I would like to have my phone rooted and also have jellybean 4.1 on it.
Kies is not working for me. I posted about that in Q&A !
In which order should I proceed ? root on gingerbread and than install JB via Odin ? or install JB via odin and than find a way to root ?

Root on gb , install clockwork mod recovery touch (thread in original dev)
u need odin only if u r not on gb and on froyo then u need odin to flash gb but i guess u r already on gb so u dont need odin
Then download jb rom from original dev go to cwm recovery (home+power) follow instructions on jb thread how to flash
And ur device will b running jb
Dont use rom manager or kies or anything else.

No but TheWhisp is working on porting CM10 to Mini2. No ETA on that one either but I think he is pretty close to a first release.

First you need CWM recovery to install a custom rom! Then you need CM9 aka ice cream sandwich or CM10 aka jelly bean from dev section and install the
.zip file and then your done!!

for my experience u need to flash the cmw recovery via odin, search for your device. ours is GT-S5570
now when u have a problem search before u post:angel:
and for comment above pls post a helpful comment everyone started as a novice...peace

No ! If you saw small "i" behind GT-S5570 word that means you have a Plus device, also your processor is 832 Mhz, ours is 600 Mhz so you are NEXT Generation of Mini

next generation would be with newer chipset, don't misuse words... other than that s5570i have different hardware wich prevents using roms from s5570... in short, no you cant use roms from s5570 on s5570i

There are really many bugs for example camera, RIL, bluetooth (maybe fixed with new libs, testing now), WiFi etc. But it can boot... Public test build will be uploaded after some hours(maybe)
EDIT: Uploading test build, Bluetooth and WiFi will be fixed I think

I hope you're not just taking libs from CM10 ROM
If you didn't build from source, it will be very difficult to fix bugs

No, I'm using libs from devices, which have official ICS and the same parametres(for example WiFi chip)

No, it maybe works in next build. I'm now working to get basic functionality like cm10 and then try to fix camera.

everything works and that little delay in booting is due to my fancy boot splash.

Tested it too...no bugs except a random reboot right now..but maybe it was caused by a mod..

Not work bro" stuck on bootanimation after bootsplash, i think because I am use live logcat (no bootanimation) my live logcat not start, wait (5minutes). flash again to original aosp ics kernel and my phone boot again

It doesn't work because it needs a different ramdisk and USB config, I'm going to test myself. Nice work btw.

i flash it 10 minutes ago and got the first random reboot while i was cleaning cache using sd maid...but my phone run smoother than before...thanks

You should have waited for canvas HD cause its worth it...still canvas 2 is just fine but the resolution is too low...

just learn about how-to make a Custom ROM, is there many guide thread for make it by yourself, not just COPY someone Works, im sorry if i hurt you, more hurt if you just make a COPY from Indonesian Developers
