Metal Dragon Overlord, previously known as Strawberry - Android 4.1.2
This ROM is based on Rasbeanjelly but ports some essential CM features specific to our device such as the custom IOCTL and CM telephony. I also tossed in some other stuff like in-call transparency menu, the extended calculator by Xlythe and CM DeskClock (stopwatch + timer). It also combines with my own kernel based on the work by thalamus - hypothalamus. In short, it's a ROM combining the best features out there - it's smooth like AOSP, it has CM's essential features and battery but it's not overly bloated.
Status: Stable.
In development?: No.
Last build: 10/11
Includes gapps, superuser and hypothalamus kernel. Custom supported kernels: marmite, air, matrix - CM version.
Download area: By clicking here you irrevocably agree to transfer your soul's ownership to me, knzo. (source on my github @knzy)
At last - many thanks for this.
Looks Good

I have been alternating between CM10 and AOSP but I find the latter not only smoother but also more stable (obviously). I miss a few CM features though but I can't stand sluggishness. OCD.

Sorry but I'm not planning on adding features/patches.
If I started to do it I probably wouldn't stop until I had power toggles, battery % and so on.

I think NS4G already has something like this. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1811491 ?
Contact pictures in this ROM are low-res (after they sync). Where can i change this?
Edit: Probably not a Rom issue, but still, help?
OK I found out that the 7/26 goo.im gapps is REALLY outdated. It contains some apk from ICS 4.0.x for calendar syncing and all the other APK are not from the official Nexus S release...but rather it's from the 4.1 leaked gapps that are very old.

F.A.Q:
Q: What is this bionic that you speak of?
A: I'm going to let morfic answer this.
morfic said:
bionic is the "libc" of android, there are hardware optimized memcpy/memset and a few others for cortex-a9 and/or armv7-a, but also others specifically for krait, using those instead of stock bionic versions perform the same job a lot better than the more generic versions in aosp.
That affects memory throughput significantly and anything where you move data and need memory throughput using those functions will benefit from it.
there are other (math) functions that can be optimized more for the particular hardware
hope this helps

Q: Can you pleeeeeease put in theme chooser?? Please????
A: No. No. NO!
Q: Why not?!?!
A: Because this ROM is meant to be as close as stock as possible with none to minimal tweaks. If you want theme chooser, there are many wonderful ROMs out there that has it.
Q: Then can you add _________?
A: Depends on if I think it is necessary. Ask in this thread. I'll reply with my response and see if it is possible.
Q: What kernel should I use with this ROM?
A: Hmm, that's like saying what should I put on my salad. Seriously, it's all on your "taste". You own a nexus for crying out loud! There are so many wonderful devs in this nexus community. You have no idea how lucky you are. I came from a Motorola triumph. Man there were like 5 devs.. That's it. All of them are great and their kernels are as well.
Q: OMG!! I love your ROM blah blah. Where can I donate?
A: Please don't. I do this for the community. I do it for free. I'm too young to be accepting donations anyways. I'm glad you like and enjoy my ROM. If you like it, please press thanks as it's there for a reason and vote 5 stars for this thread That's all I want on return.

Not bugs or anything, but I noticed under About phone it states Android 4.2, not Android 4.2.1. Also for some reason I have two Calendar apps (AOSP & Play Market Version). For gapps, I installed gapps-jb-20121212-signed.zip.
Edit: Or maybe this is JOP40C/4.2?

Before any of you are all like " why not just update the original thread?" or " Whats the point of opening a different thread, fishing for thanks" THE Reason is that now WiFi is fixed there will be other Roms being added, and i don't want all the talk about WiFi being fixed or studies or when it's being updated, i wanted a fresh slate! So lay off
Why open a separate thread for each ROM with separate Locations to hunt down?! This hub will be your one stop shop for some of the Roms that have been ported from other Devices for the Desire C by me Each Rom shall consist of a brief description, Bugs list, and a download link! The download link will bring to a folder which shall consist of 3 different files, The first of which, shall be the Rom, the second will be a readme file explaining the Features the ROM has to offer to you at this present moment in time. The third shall be a folder of screenshots in which you will be able to browse before deciding which ROM is right for you
Link to Screenies and readme file is: Here
UNIVERSAL NOTICES:
ALL ROMS ARE INDEED ANDROID 4.1.2, Even thou Build prop may say like 5.0.0, it's a joke as i was experimenting!!
Please Clean Wipe, or Dirty flash over CM10 at your own risk - then clear data and cache in contacts and contacts storage!
WiFi should be working in each ROM, let me know if not!!
Each ROM is fully compatible with me4488's NOPE Kernel and Nikhils Promethues! so go thank them as well!!

This is a simple AOSP rom that I'm maintaining for myself and sharing with the community.
Perfect Android is built with the idea of being simple and stable for your Android device.
Based off of Android Open Source Project code, features and fixes are introduced with each build.
If you are looking for something that is more feature developed I would suggest BAMF, CyanogenMOD, AOKP, or ParaniodAndroid, that offers more.
Feature list:
- Full Google experience
- Chrome and AOSP browsers
- Odexed System and Frameworks
- "Clear all" button on recent apps
- Option to remove persistant search bar in Launcher
- Expanded Desktop
- Reboot menu
- Power menu Screenshot
- Long press back to kill app
- Volume Button music controls
- Volume Button wake
- Fully customizable Power menu options, which include option to add or remove items
Instructions:
First time flashing device, or coming from another ROM?
Download the zip(s).
Optional: adb backup
Fastboot oem unlock > fastboot flash recovery recovery.img.
Perform a NANDroid backup of your current ROM.
Wipe data & cache partitions of your device (required when coming from stock!).
Flash ROM.
ROM: Link
G-Apps (included): At this time there are no "official" g-apps available so I've included what you get stock.
Root (optional): SuperSU v1.51
Source: Link
Follow the above link for the complete source to make your own changes or to completely debug down to the core of the rom also follow my github for detailed changes.
Always remember that XDA started out as a great place and will remain a great place as long as we are great to each other anything used in this ROM is available upon request and feel free to use this as a base rom for any other project.
WANT TO CUSTOMIZE THIS ROM READ THIS:
Want to add or remove anything or customize for yourself use DSIXDA's Kitchen. Its a great kitchen for customizing prebuilt ROMs.
Looks nice. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks Jak!
I was sitting around waiting for your clean AOSP rom to drop. Never cease to amaze me.
(P.S. When did it become a necessity to post negative opinions...If people don't have something to offer don't post.)
Jak's been around since 2007 and been doing great stuff for a long time...a name is just a name for a ROM.
Awesome ! A new clean rom to play

Hello @jakdillard,
Your ROM looks good, gonna flash it later on. Thanks for sharing it with us.
What about Gapps? The official Gapps is packed my Google itself? I though those zips were community-made.
Any idea when they'll release it?
Thanks for sharing the ROM with us. Downloading it now.
Hi Jak
I can suggest something simple and useful?
Possibility to volumes (ring and notifications) to be unlinked and sound preferences.
Tks. :good:
@jakdillard,
I just flashed it, and it's a really nice ROM! The smoothest 4.3 I've tried.
Do you have any plans to add "Volume button wake" into this?
Thanks.
Thank you very much jakdillard!! I really appreciate a nice clean source built 4.3 ROM, and this looks "perfect" to me . I Also greatly appreciate all you're previous work. Thanks a bunch

Honestly I don't think I will be adding anymore mods to this, I really think I might just stick to the K.I.S.S. (Keep It Short and Simple) philosophy, and work on smoothing out the mods I already have.
Thanks to everybody for the positive words and encouragement it is really appreciated.
Will it work on my rooted Xolo Q800 if i flash it with CWM?

Don't do this. This ROM is for a Nexus 4 - you could flash it using clockwork but it would leave your phone non-functional until you flash a rom that is intended to be used with your device.
Similarly, filling your fuel-tank with custard is unlikely to enhance your car's performance.
Google just told me there's an xda thread with some firmware for your device here, though it's 4.2.1 rather than 4.3
I have tried all the ROM's available for my device... i was looking for something different...
GingerDX
This is a Gingerbread (2.3.7) based rom which emulates the look and feel of the jelly bean user interface as it looks better. There are features such as PIE controls from AOSPA (Paranoid android) whcih looks amazing and removes the need for hardware buttons. This version is based on Cyanogenmod 7 (gingerbread) and is ported from the Samsung Galaxy mini, for original rom see below.
Original Rom link : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2230172
Features
Jelly Bean Status Bar
Time and date in jelly bean style with settings icon to quickly go to the settings app just like in android 4.1+. Statusbar pulldown glows blue just like in android 4.1+ roms which looks brilliant!

Unique interface customization
You have the ability to customize the interface using the new gingerDX settings and the normal cyanogenmod settings in order to get it looking the way you want.

PIE Controls
The reason i ported this rom! Just like in paranoid android roms (AOSPA) this rom contains pie controls which looks amazing and gives you all sorts of information such as current RAM and battery from a small gesture within any app! You are also able to customise these settings and colours from gingerDX settings to make it look the way you like.

I've been trying to port gingerdx but never got past the boot screen. Is there anyway you can remove pie controls as the willy comes with hardware buttons? If it hasn't been done yet when I get home I will upload the ROM on media fire for you.

There is an option to turn Pie controls off yeah, and thanks
Thats what I really wanted. Thank you.
But how did you get it to boot? I tried three different devices (x10 mini, galaxy fit and even galaxy mini) but none of them booted. Did you edit any lib or what?
