You can use Speedmod kernel or NoteCore.
Try searching for EFS backup in the forum, you can find it easily I'm sure.

If it is sim unlock you mean here it is. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1808629

I think the 'unlock' word the OP is indicating is to 'root' his phone....

I dont know why you get error but you could try flash gingerbread rom and just use the galaxy s unlock. Of course you need custom kernel for the purpose of acquiring the CWM recovery in order to flash the zip file added by criskelo.

As of now we just have 4.1 (JB) and you can update your Note by flashing one of the available JB custom roms (make sure to follow instructions properly, if you choose to flash one)
Since you are on custom Kernel so OTA and Kies is a no go.

just got my SGN as few days back from Singapore and its the GT-N7000B and it looks like we have the same one.
still wondering what the difference is...
I think there's a leak on the ics update for sgn7000 in rootzwiki. You.have to flash your device using odin. Im not sure if i can put the link here.

Ey joshua.. Have you rooted your g-note? From cebu here too..
I think the leak ICS on rootzwiki is not the Official ICS yet... I would rather wait for the Official ICS one than the many variant leak ICS already released....
nothing is really sweeter (for me) than the Official one...
Just my personal thought...

That's a SGH-I717 (AT&T Note) leak, a device completely different from International Note, and therefore useless for us.

bai, are you going to just root your phone? or root then flash a custom ROM also?
anyway.. if your planning with that ICS leak from rootzwiki.. I would advice you not to... I agree, that ICS isn't for the International Version, it's for the I717 Note...
TIA for your reply on my question

I have same SGN, GT-N7000B(N7000BDCLA2). Unfortunately, nobody post the instruction for this model.
And also, Super One click and the other programs are useless for this model.
So, I decide to root my phone accroding to Dr. Ketan.
I thought this phone is non directable ROM.
Check this as the below.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
When No Any other method works to Root your device, use this
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Note that, this will downgrade your ROM to KJ1, after that you can update it.
Download: https://rapidshare.com/files/3690281..._FACTORYFS.zip
(special thanx to schiwa for providing premium a/c to host file)
- Make sure your SGN is NOT connected to your computer
- Reboot your SGN into "download mode" (Vol Down + Home + Power)
- Start ODIN
- Click the PDA button, and select the "SGN_XX_OXA_KJ1_FACTORYFS.tar" file
- Connect the SGN to your computer
- Make sure "repartition" is NOT checked
- Click the START button
- Wait for the phone to reboot TWICE
- Done.
Now you have your device Rooted, Install Mobile Odin Pro n update your device to any new ROM with Mobile Odin

When I was done this instruction there are two bugs.
one is typing error "null, null" and the other is brick whenever turn off the display.
But I flashed Chrack's ICS XXLPY V4 directly.
Check this as the below.
##############################################
# Download small v4 (332MB): Chrack_XXLPY_small_xda_v4.zip
# MD5 Hash: 8DDC1C4DDEC2FAE19A6B838A15660888
##############################################
From the small Version i deleted some Apps.
The Apps can you download here:
Download lite Apps (301MB): lite apps xxlpy.zip
MD5 Hash: 4567FCD16B4BF80BBEC686BB14B4029D
Instruction
a) coming from a rooted GB-ROM:
- download Abyss Kernel 4.2 from here: http://www.mediafire.com/?c65mndvpk6ocbaa
- put zip-file on your USB-storage
- boot in Recovery
- Flash Abyss Kernel 4.2!!!
- boot back in recovery (you find this option under 'advanced')
- FullWipe
- Flash ROM
- reboot system
- ...you are done
==> there have been reported problems with a constantly rebooting system when doing installation coming from a GB-ROM as posted above! So the safe and 100% successful way is installing LPY Stock-ROM, root Stock ROM and then go on as described below under point b2). Do not ask for a tutorial on how to install and root LPY Stock ROM....it is describe enough here in Forum!

Thanks for the quick response. So as I understand, I have to downgrade first SGN using the firmware link you have provided. That will also root the device. And then I can upgrade to latest firmware with mobile odin pro.
Sorry for asking this noob question as on SGS2 I didnt faced such issue and always used CF Root method.

yes exactly
one more thing i like to add, just update kernel also after updating latest ROM
for example if you suppose update ROM to XXLC1
then, you have to go here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1329360
find 'I have kernel LC1' download n follow procedure with selecting already rooted.

[Q] Unlock bootloader to flash new rom?

Hey guys!
Found my old xperia x8 and i wanted to flash a new rom.
rooted it and installed xrecovery.
do i need to unlock the bootloader to flash a new rom?
Or just for the kernel?
you unlock your bootloader to flash a custom kernel. Some roms are for stock kernel and others are for customs. What rom do you want to install? Also you maybe will need cwm and not xrecovery.

I didn't check the option because I do not use Philz Kernel right now. But this option is used for preparing your device before installing a new ROM. So I think you removed the old one with the options but didn't install a new custom Rom, right?
Try to download any Custom Rom here in the forum or a Stock Rom from sammobile.com and install it. Then everything should be ok again.

On sammobile.com there are three different version (depending on your mobile provider): globe, smart, sun. All with DXLR5.
You can choose and download yourself here (please change the option to the one you need).
More easy: download the right one from Dr. Ketan's thread here.

No, I will not. Why? Dr. Ketan did this in his thread already and in a much better quality compared to what I would produce here in a few lines. So please scroll a little down in the given link to his thread - you'll even get snapshots of the installation process. Good luck.

I rejected your friend request, because i always do. I do not like and I do not use this feature. Nothing personal.
I have friends in real life but not in the virtual world.

DXLR5 on sammobile.com is a complete version, the link to DXLR6 the file from the OTA update (much smaller). You need to install DXLR5.

hmmm ok thx haha 1 hr left till the download is finish ill just play AC3 for a while
Just for the next time. When you use clean for a new rom,
If formats the system and data. That means you are not left with any rom on your device. So it will not boot.
You should have loaded a rom you want to flash in to the phone and installed it after that option you selected.
---------- Post added at 09:21 PM ---------- Previous post was at 09:19 PM ----------
And hopefully hot file won't let you down at about 90 %
Also if you have already downloaded a custom rom to flash you can tilldo it by mounting the usb storage from recovery

yes sir...
what do you mean by "Also if you have already downloaded a custom rom to flash you can tilldo it by mounting the usb storage from recovery"
I meant. If you have decided and downloaded a custom rom you want to flash on to your note, you could do it using the recovery after what option you selected.

The first one is a file manager while you are in recovery!
The second one a file manager while your use your device with running Android OS!
So that's like comparing apple with android - two different worlds

don't worry, the link I posted contains the same files ,but I think this method is the simplest.
1º Getting root, flash this file via stock recovery (shutdown your phone and push HOME+POWER button until you can access to stock recovery mode)>>> select "apply update from SD card" and flash this file ROOT
Boot intro android and then shutdown again and go to stock recovery again (HOME+POWER button to access)
2º CWM recovery >>> select "apply update from SD card" flash this file CWM 5.0.2.6. FIX
Physical buttons
VOLUME+/- to move through recovery mode
HOME to acept install the select file
POWER to go back
DONE!

But IT'S COMPULSORY YOU USE CWM 5.0.2.6 FIX or CWM5 based to flash correctly whatever rom, so root your device and then flash the CWM I posted

C. Flashing the newest firmware:
Turn off your phone
Remove your SIM Card and SD Card
Extract previously downloaded firmware
Open ODIN 4.38 on your PC and change OPS file name to
Code:
Cooper_v1.0.ops
Select from extracted archive: OPS-OPS, Boot-APBOOT, Phone-MODEM, PDA-CODE, CSC-CSC (leave EFS and One Package empty)
If archive contains only <filename>.tar.md5 select it as PDA and OPS as OPS, leave other fields EMPTY
Connect your phone via USB into PC
When the screen is turned on hold POWER+VOLUME DOWN+HOME and wait until the phone enters the Download Mode
If ODIN detected and recognized your phone should light up the first square to the left side
Press "Start" button and wait, the process should take ~5 minutes
If all goes well your phone should reboot automatically
Square should change the color to blue and display "PASS" it means that flashing process was successful and we have the newest firmware
Disconnect your phone
Turn off your phone
Insert your SIM Card and SD Card again
Turn on your phone
Now you have the newest firmware!
You can find latest firmwares HERE, IMO Spanish FOP rom (KTM 2.3.6.) is the best, but can choose what you want
