I've seen on the xda forums that some people have 'extra' toggling buttons at the top of their notification drawer(hope it's the correct term, 1st three months as Android OS user), My friend's S3 has them by default too, does the Note have it? or is there a need for root/custom launcher; since S3 has a newer rev of the Touchwiz Launcher. If possible, i would like to avoid rooting!
What the phone currently has, from stock is just 5 buttons at the top, which are Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, Profile, Screen Rotation, Power Saving.
Wish to add: Mobile Data toggle/ Sync toggle (dunno if there's any more available)
something like this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?goto=newpost&t=1620625
^yeap, that's it. but i have a query, it's my first time with an android phone, barely used for 4 months.
i don't get wat's flashing with CWM; does that require root? what exactly is CWM, apart from the full name?
does flashing that mod = voiding my warranty like what rooting does?
Bump. Anyone knows why the note doesn't have it o.o

You can use some app from playstore for extra toggles if you do not want to root but flashing this mod requires root and cwm.
If you are rooted, you can have 15 toggles without having cwm, here is a small guide- http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=30668303

To root your phone, you could simply flash a safe rooted kernel like Odin version hydracore through ODIN.
You will get yellow triangle and increased counter. But you can reset it easily with triangle away app by chain fire.A simple search would bring it up....

Thanks for the above confirmations/help provided.
One last query, how do I backup my current settings? I suppose the sequence is root, backup and then apply mod?
Sent from my GT-N7000 using Tapatalk 2
Bump!
Question in my above post in unanswered :x
Sent from my GT-N7000 using Tapatalk 2
when u root and apply a safe kernel like hydracore or speedmod.. u will get cwm thru which u can backup the ROM using the nandroid backup feature.
The best start is to get Rooted first.. then install the 15 toggles you want.. search threads and you will find a lot with different shapes and themes
Hey all.
Recently I flashed jellybean leak and found popup browser. When I click on a URL, I can choose popup browser to open the link. Nevertheless, I cannot find a way to run popup browser from app list or stock browser it would be awesome to have popup browser running other than this way...
If anyone has a way or an idea, please share it to us
Where I'd you downloadpopup browser?

Its not downloaded, it is preinstalled in the stock jellybean ROM. If you click on a external link on any other apps except stock browser, you can choose popup browser from there.
there is no separate app.
you get this option only when you click a link/bookmark.
lol, awesome!
then when you make a shortcut on main screen to website you also get this option?

Here you can download Browser Popup from Galaxy Note 2 rom.
https://hotfile.com/dl/184672248/33d8e53/PopupBrowser.apk.html
It works on 4.1.1 Touchwiz roms, both odex or deodex.
Copy to System / App, set permissions like the other apps and reboot.
Here you have a tutorial on how to use it:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gSj-xA4vDhI&feature=youtube_gdata_player
That's neat.

Installing this fairly simple !!

No Wipe Needed !!
and poof check out the miniappd tray you have mini browser Multi task is something....
I need that wallpaper

Hey Mythi! Wadap! Nice one you got there!
I just flashed...
1. Shows a small android robot instead of the image like others
2. Can only be resized into 2 sizes...
Floating Browser is Better!!!
I don't know about the other 10.1 Tab 2's, but the ATT I497 4.12 ROM did not include a popup browser. The other popup browser introduced earlier in this section did not work with my Tab. This one does. My Tab is not yet rooted. I just extracted the apk from the zip file and installed it as a normal app. It works and appears in my mini apps although it has a generic icon. That shouldn't be too hard to fix.
Thanks. I am gonna try this on my tab 2 GT-P5110 with cm 10.2.
