loosing whatsapp connection after reboot/Zeus V6.39n - LG Optimus Black

Hello
This is my first real bug with whatsapp : I'm using a LG P970, with zeus rom V6.39n . Until this morning, whatsapp was running like a charm.
This morning, I decided to install some new animated wallpaper with Clockworkmod tool. (without success, follow link for more details )
after rebooting, whatsapp was not able to communicate. Everything happens like there was no internet connection. Of course, internet ( over wifi ) was working well ( tested with a new keyword in google search to ensure not using cached page).
I tried to reboot: problem remains.
I tried to wipe cache and reboot : problem remains.
I disabled the integrated firewall of Avast Mobile security : problem remains.
I started a VPN session to be sure that whatsapp was not newly filtered on my wifi connection : problem remains.
I decided to make a backup of whatsapp discussions, uninstall, and reinstall whatsapp from it's own APK backup file created with ESfileexplorer ( just to say : reinstalling exactly the same version : WhatsApp_2.8.1504.apk ).
After reinstalling apk, I had to give again my phone number, and agreed to restore my discussions. After that, all the messages that were waiting in both directions ( from me to contacts, and from contacts to me ) arrived and whatsapp now works again.
I don't know what's happen this morning :
- did I loose my whatsapp license ?
- is this related with my try of installing this wallpapers ?
- is this related with zeus rom ?

I have been seeing exactly the same quite a while ago. Don't know it which Zeus I was running at that time. I also wiped cache (nothing changed) uninstalled and reinstalled (not from titanium backup but from play store) and since then everything is good again... Never happened again...

Don't worry your whatsapp license is fine, for the rest, really hard to tell why did it happen

Hello
Same player, shoot again !
This morning, impossible to send anything with whatsapp. kill app --> no ok ( tested 3 time with long pauses between ) , reboot phone --> no ok , internet connection test --> fine ( ensuring not using cached page )
backuping dialogs , uninstall , reinstall whatsapp from saved apk , reassign my tel number, restoring dialogs --> messages which where waiting to go since the beginning immediately sent.
Nothing changed on firmware since last time , just tweaking phone with zeus tweaks ( -3 on voltage , 4 on wifi DB )

[Q] Gtalk login failed in ICS rc4.2 with google+ (tentatively solved)

as title mentioned , i having gtalk login problem for my ICS rc4.2, and i notice this problem since rc3.1 or rc.4.1 (can't remember) but during that time i notice once i uninstall google+ , my gtalk is back to work fine, but once install google+ it fail.
but at rc4.2 it not work either way even i uninstall google+, where i suspect rc4.2 framework embed google+ becaseu even before i manually install google+ , the photo able to sync to google+ account when i visit using computer.
so any solution for this ? or how can i stop or remove the google+ services in rc4.2?
Try with different kernel...devil 14 is one of the best....i use it and i don't have any problem......read instructions first to avoid problems.....
Any link for the devil kernel you mention?
try following these steps
1. clear dalvik cache under recovery mode.
2. clear app cache and data from app manage option under system setting
this should fix the problem and ask you to start a fresh for login details and every thing will work fine.
dktechdev.in
i tried but it still can't, but now i seem like found the reason , previous i notice every time i install google+ , Gtalk will have problem, that is why i wrong thought is google+ conflict with gtalks, so my solution is
1)i uninstall google+
2)remove my account then add is back again ,
3)then i still need to disable auto sync for gallary for photo instand upload. then only my gtalk work.
then recently i installer another few new app, then suddenly my gtalk promt me "can't open due to low internal memory" so trigger me think differently is that the reaso that make gtalk can't load is due to low internal memory.
so i decided to repeat the step 1- 3 just above make sure my gtalk is work , then i install back google+ , then expected result gtalk failed again. then i start to delete some other games application , and some i move to SD , until the warning low internal memory disappear , then i try to open again gtalks.
It works
so now i still in monitoring stage , hope this solution is solve once and for all ,
but i still annoy by how come my galaxy S internal still got so much space left yet it prompt low internal memory.....

[Q] GB to ICS problems

Hi,
I recently went from stock rooted GB to ICS Stunner 1.4.19. Lots of things I liked, but I was used to certain functionalities from touch wizz, anyway here are my questions :
1 - I guess the keyboard with free hand writing recognition is a part of TW ? I was actually using that, any way I can retrieve such a functionality in ICS Stunner ?
2 - the backlight buttons always on or off is annoying, I read about it on the main ICS Stunner thread, I don't know if there's a satisfying solution to this ?
3 - FM radio not working, there's not workaround solution I guess ?
4 - I had a big battery draining problems, again didn't see any solution to this.
Then I tried ALBA because I was not sure I wanted to get rid of TW, and from this small experience of tryings different ROMS, the most annoying thing is to retrieve datas / configurations. I used titanium backup, but here are problems I encountered :
- I thought Google stored some configurations like my Wifi network key, but it doesn't or it didn't set it automatically.
- I realized (yea I'm newbie) some of my datas were on my Google account and some on my Samsung account (or locally on my phone ?). For example, I have some events on my S Calendar that are associated to my Samsung account, some to the Google one. My contacts are all on my Samsung account, because my google contacts has too many people (why does Google add so much people automatically to contacts I wonder). This makes it hard to retrieve all datas, on ALBAs for example I didn't find how I could retrieve my S Calendar / Samsung account datas.
- I used TB to restore only a few apps, with not much success : Kindle had lost it's settings, I had to reenter my account informations, download dictionaries again, etc. Opera mobile crashed when restored, so I downloaded, reentered link account informations. And I can't use TB to restore system stuff (because of different ROMS or different kernels, it's not clear to me).
So my question to all the ROM switcher that wipe their phone ten times a day, what is your best solution to : retrieve wifi configuration, APN configuration, contacts, sms, calendar stuff, etc ?

to 1: There is no easy way to get any Samsung stuff (like TW) running on an AOSP/AOKP ROM. Requires hacking with libraries and the like.
to 4: Try wipe all and reflash ROM again. If that does not help, wipe all again reflash chainfire-repack (I use always Mobile Odin for that), reflash ROM
to you last question: Backup everything ( user apps + system data) and copy it to your PC just in case (I do it with scp from my linux shell and SSHDroid on the Note). Don't restore plain all saved data, but you can restore selected system data (like wifi configuration, contacts ...).
That works fine for me, even when my contacts are saved on google and migrate back from there. You have to find the right items in Titanium for just contact data and such, but mostly on my Note they are colored green and called "Konten", "Kontakte/Anrufe" - but that's a german note. Restore only the data for these system items!

Thanks for answering frabe8378910 !
Too bad for the few S-apps I would have used. Also I'm not sure but I think different pressure for the pen is not supported in ICS stunner.
As for 4, I think I found the cause : there's a "multimedia" process showing in my battery stats , and I guess it runs especially when screen is off because sometimes I would loose several % of battery life when the GN was in sleep note for only a few minutes ! Well, I killed the process and battery consumption seems normal now.
Thanks a lot for the tip for saving contacts, I downloaded sshdroid, I'm on windows but I will use putty, though I'm not sure how it will handle permissions for the files when copied from GN to Windows and back to GN. Maybe I should stick to Titanium...You achieve saving all your datas through "manual" scp copy, or you also use an app like Titanium ?

I use "Note Everything Pro" for drawings and such with the S-Pen. This works fine for some measure drawings before you drive to a "baumarkt" (google tell me it's an english word too ;-) to buy building materials and furniture.
Yes, I save ALL user apps + system data with Titanium and the copy the whole directory (see below) to my PC.
Concerning the permissions for the Titanium files:
- login via putty to your note
- "cd" to the base directory of Titanium backup folder
on my note Titanium would save to: /mnt/emmc/BACKUP/Titanium, so "cd /mnt/emmc/BACKUP"
- do a "tar cvf Titanium.tar Titanium" which will pack the whole Titanium directory with all files and owner/group/permissions to ONE tar-file.
- copy this file via scp (putty) to you PC. Done!
If you need to restore the Titanium file on the Note
- copy the file back to the right directory
- "cp" to it
- do "tar xvf Titanium.tar"
- and the directory Titanium with all files and permissions is ready to use!
I'm a bit familiar with unix/linux, should have thought about tar !
Thanks again for your help.

1.By mistake i just converted some system apps like 'messaging' to user apps. The phone rebooted and i found messaging app was uninstalled. Now how to get it back. please HELP!!
2.I uninstalled the updates of 'play store' from the settings>applications>manage applications. Now i cant access the playstore anymore.

Hello
I had almost the same pb as you...
which software to you use to convert system apps to user apps ?
I use Link2SD for information and it's work fine.
For messaging, I delete it. You can download other apps like Maildroid, inomail....
But you don't have market anymore
I've done the same mistake as you , and after severals try, I found this solution :
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1231358
First you download and install Old market on your smartphone, and during the installation, it will ask you if you want the old one or the new market, answer that you want the new one !
It worked for me...
And after, don't touch anymore to market apps
Good luck

[Help Center] How to get rid of (android.process.acore)

This small tutorial is to get rid of the error android.process.acore which comes again and again on screen and bothers alot!!
For the People who are encountering this error just follow the below steps.
This error usually occurs because you might have forgot to WIPE when installing a NEW ROM. So to avoid that always wipe when the ROM provider has stated so.
There are also other causes which result this error. So try the following methods:
1. Try uninstalling Facebook if that is installed. If this does not fix your problem then try the following.
Do you have your contacts backed up?
2. Settings>Applications>System Applications>Contacts Sync Adapter and press Clear Data, this error usually goes away. If this doesn't work, try clearing the data on Settings>Applications>System Applications>Contacts or Settings>Applications>System Applications>Contacts Storage.
If problem is fixed, then restore contacts and reinstall Facebook and make sure you don't sync contacts with it.
3. Third and Final solution for me which I really dont like but has worked with me
Boot into Recovery than
1. WIPE DATA
2. WIPE CACHE PARTITION
3. MOUNTS & STORAGE > FORMAT SYSTEM
4.FLASH THE ROM
USE AT YOUR OWN RISK. HAS WORKED FOR ME..... PEACE!!

This reminds me that I recently noticed that "Contact Groups" were not properly sync'ed between Google Contacts and the Contacts on my phone. I went into Contacts on my phone and checked "Sync Data". Is that supposed to stay unchecked?
Of course, the Contacts app crashes before I can un-check the box, so I don't know how to fix that now.
See the problems I'm having at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2267528

Clearing Data for Contact storage worked for me, thanks!
Third step seems to have woked
I did the first 2 with not results the third seems to have worked. My samsung VZW i800 is working quite well now thank you. I have CM11.0 terrenceng... granted I still get the error "unfortunately gmail has stopped" and I'm working on that issue. In the meantime I'm using the email app to handle my Gmail. Thanks again.
I tried deleting Facebook, which worked for several days, but now the Acore Error back with a vengeance !!! I do not have the same hierarchy as listed below, so I cannot use the Method #2. I've already tried Method #3, but obviously that did not work. Oh well ..... so much for upgrading to Buggy KitKat ....
At least I'm getting a new phone tomorrow .... Hopefully it will be more stable, and if I'm lucky might even have JellyBean!!! I had NO problems with JellyBean for over three months. Big mistake upgrading to KitKat 4.4.2.

anyone using this room with skype experienced any problem?
using the latest skype, when try signing out, system will show "android.process.acore" after click ok, message pops up right away. Reboot won't help either. Only way getting rid of message is to clear the contact storage.
Fix the android.process.acore
I had this problem after removing a Google account from my phone that did contacts sync. During the removal, my phone crashed (nice job guys) and it clearly corrupted something..
I DID NOT NEED TO RESET MY PHONE TO FACTORY SETTINGS OR RE-FLASH ANY FIRMWARE, ETC
IMPORTANT: PLEASE NOTE THE FOLLOWING PROCESS WILL DELETE ALL LOCALLY STORED CONTACTS FROM YOUR PHONE. BUT DON'T WORRY, YOU WILL BE ABLE TO RESTORE ANY CONTACTS THAT YOU REMOTELY SYNCED WITH AN ACCOUNT (SUCH AS A GOOGLE ACCOUNT).
I fixed my phone by going to:
1. Setting > Application Manager
2. Slide over to the "ALL" tab
3. Select the "Contacts Storage" application
4. Click the "Turn Off" button
5. Click the "Force Stop" button
6. Click the "Clear Cache" button
7. Click the "Clear Data" button
8. Uncheck the "Show Notifications" option
9. Click the "Turn On" button
This should immediately resolve your issue.
IF YOU PREVIOUSLY DISABLED CONTACTS SYNCING FOR ANY OF YOUR "ACCOUNTS", YOU SHOULD RE-ENABLE IT NOW TO GET YOUR CONTACTS BACK ON YOUR PHONE.
If you're using the Facebook app (com.facebook.katana) , especially the "dev" version, try freezing/disabling, then clearing data and cache in it, seems FB doesn't do much contacts sanitizing....

The best way to resolve this issue is
- Turn Off Sync
- Remove Your Google account account from your device
-Add your google account again
-Turn on sync
BOOM you are done now
U ROCK!!!
the second solution which is clearing the ''contacts storage'' data fixed it but the problem occurred when i uninstalled facebook actually it happened to me on my other phone ( ''Galaxy Note II'' to be exact ) just by logging out of my account in the facebook app so i had to factory reset the phone
i wonder why ? all my devices have official roms with no root
anyway thanks
I get this problem "Unforunately,android.process.acore has stopped".
I have stock rom. I have Xposed framework installed,is that the source of the problem?
Thanx in advance for helping me.
My device:Samsung Galaxy S Duos2
I used to get that error message many times. With my first Note 3, it finally got so bad that I could not use my Note 3 anymore. Samsung sent me a replacement Note 3, which I still have. I started getting that error again on my second Note 3. Had to do a Factory Reset, which seemed to fix the issue. However, now I'm getting a new error message that just started when I upgraded to Lollipop 5.0 >>> Touch Wiz suddenly quits. After about 15-20 seconds starts up again.
Hey all! If none of the above solutions are working for you (like in my case), then please try this solution I found that worked for me:
1. Uninstall the app that is causing the popups (this could be Facebook, OneNote, WhatsApp, Skype, etc...).
2. Disable Goolge+.
3. Reinstall app that was causing the popups (sign in, get it going).
4. Re-enable Google+ (I actually haven't cause I don't use it, but that's up to you).
It looks like 5.1 fix this, so hang in there!
I just got the Lollipop 5.0 Update for my Note 3 about a week ago. So far, seems to be running ok. I have a list of 11 issues with Lollipop, one which a Samsung Tech Support lady helped me fix (after many calls to tech support, with no help). Another issue I discovered the solution by myself (by accident), and one more issue I found the answer online after reading many articles, and watching many videos.
I have not seen this issue "android.process.acore" with the Lollipop 5.0 Update. Hoping to get another update to fix the remaining issues (Screenshot, Battery Drain, WiFi, RAM, Bluetooth, TouchWiz).

Yea, I tried everything else in this forum and on the web> Facebook uninstall, stop all contacts, calendar, google play related apps and clear data, delete google account, etc...
Have now cleared and uninstalled Skype, Airdroid, and mightytext since it seems to be a Google Contacts syncing issue. This still hasn\t helped. Will keep you all posted if I find the culprit.

[nearSOLVED] Restoring WhatsApp chat history after installing Team Canjica's CM11 ROM

Hi
I've installed [Team Canjica] CM11 ROM yesterday, and it works very well.
However, after installing Whatsapp, Whatsapp displays a message about it being a custom ROM and therefore not fully supported.
It then attempts to restore the chat history and after some lengthy processing, says it couldn't restore the history.
Otherwise Whatsapp works normally and is able to send and receive messages.
I am very interested in restoring my chat history, and unsuccessfully tried the methods suggested on Whatsapp's support website, as well as by their support email.
Can anyone help me, please?

I am not 100% sure, but messages should be somewhere in Whatsapp folder on internal or external SD card. See if you did not delete it. You tried to restore them in the past on some other ROM?

Chat history files are indeed there on my storage on /Whatsapp/databases, and although whatsapp finds them and attempts restoring them, it repeatedly fails to restore them.
I have tried removing and re-installing whatsapp several times, even with older backup files too, unsuccessfully :crying:
Any suggestions?

Not sure. Try to transfer that folder to other storage (on external if it is on internal now). If that does not help try with other ROM and see what happens. I used CM11 and I have restored Whatsapp chats without problem as I remember.

[Partially SOLVED]: WhatsApp+ restored my chat history
Hi all.
I have installed WhatsApp+ (I am not sure but I think it is currently in Hebrew only).
It needs installing from the SD card, and is not available in PLAY store
WhatsApp+ restored my chat history.
Having my chat history "back" I removed WhatsApp+ and installed WhatsApp (original) again, but it again failed in restoring my chat history, so I re-installed WhatsApp+ and will use it for now.
If anyone needs help with the Hebrew on WhatsApp+'s site I will gladly help.
Good Luck!
Maybe there is an option in whatsapp+ to do a backup, and later to do manual restore in org app

You're right, there is - the same as in WhatsApp.
It produced the same failure to restore in WhatsApp, although whatsapp+ successfully restored.
Until I find another option to restore I'll stick with the WhatsApp+ for the time being.
Optionally I may send myself selected chats by mail, like in WhatsApp.
@ArcSer
Just keep Whatsapp+, no?
I use it too from the last year and it's way better than original one.

I had the same problem, because I swapped between LineageOS derivated ROMs for tests (but not on Galaxy S Advance I9070).
I backupped key file from /data/data/com.whatsapp/files and wa.db from /data/data/com.whatsapp/databases.
For the first test, I followed this advices from this thread: https://forum.xda-developers.com/general/help/whatsapp-whatsapp-offer-backup-restore-t3342014:
Prerequisites:
1) Whatsapp Viewer (Links are forbidden for new users, you will find it at Github)
2) msgstore.db.cryptX from a backup (the "X" from msgstore.db.cryptX stays for the version of message database encryption)
3) key file from /data/data/com.whatsapp/files from a backup
4) Whatsapp must not have been started before
5) Phone number / SIM of backup and restore phone must be identical
6) Wifi connection for verification process
Procedure:
1) Install Whatsapp, but do not start it
2) Extract msgstore.db from msgstore.db.cryptX with the help of Whatsapp Viewer (the "X" from msgstore.db.cryptX stays for the version of message database encryption)
3) Copy msgstore.db to /storage/emulated/0/Whatsapp/Databases
4) Start Whatsapp and hit "Restore" when it's offered
5) Wait for "Initialisation" to finish. It took about 3 minutes in my case. So be patient.
6) Enter Name and assign a profile picture, hit next
7) Finish!
but nothing. I uninstalled Whatsapp.
For the second test, I installed Whatsapp again, left (only) msgstore.db in /storage/emulated/0/Whatsapp/Databases and copied key and wa.db files into their folders, overwriting the original files. Whatsapp crashed and I uninstalled Whatsapp again.
For a third test, I installed Whatsapp again (all untouched after second test), but maybe the key file automatic overwritten during the app initialization, because now Whatsapp working and it restored successfully chat history!!
After these tests, I think that the only files to leave/overwrite are: wa.db in /data/data/com.whatsapp/databases and maybe decrypted msgstore.db in /storage/emulated/0/Whatsapp/Databases (but I think that also encrypted one should work).
Hy,
Just want to give my impression about using Whatsapp+ or GB Whatsapp or other 3rd party Whatsapp App, dont forget that Whataspp can BAN your number if they find you're using any other program instead of the original APP, it happened to a friend of mine so be careful not to use those fancy things that the original App doesnt have, even more, we all still don't knowhow safe is our data while passing through this 3rd party Apps, they look good and have nice features but it may have a high cost.
BR
I had same problem because install LineageOS on galaxy a7 2017,
but I have done these stuff and my whatsapp has worked corroctly:
0- install simulator android and install whatsapp and sign your number then restore your chats then go to internalStorage>whatsapp
1-cory backups and databases folders to safe place
2-go to Internad Storage>Android>data>com.whatsapp then copy cash folder to safe place
3-install whatsapp on your phone and not login.
4-go to setting > permission and allow whatsapp access to storage,camera,mic,...
5-copy all of files databases, chash, backups to your phone with same directories( databeses and backups copy to >> internalstorage>whatsapp and chash copy to internalstorage>android>data>.com.whatsapp)
