Hi everybody, It happened to me several times to be connected to wifi, but without having a real working connection.
It was impossible to connect to internet with any application, though signal on the status bar appeared correctly.
A reboot solves temporarily this problem, but sometimes gets rather annoying.
I'm on apocalypse final, with latest firekernel.

Yeah, I had a similar problem too.
It happened even when my phone wasnt even rooted!
Im sure the dev would come up with a fix.
Ok I have other details of my problem.
I'm on Apocalypse Final, using Amarullz and latest Firekernel.
The only way i found to use Wi-Fi without problems is to turn it on and then reboot the phone. This way it connects and works fine.
The bad thing is i have to reboot once again to use data connection, otherwise won't connect.
Could please someone give me a peace of advice? I could stand this, it's not a huge problem since i don't switch much between data and Wi-Fi, but it's a weird thing...

I feel its a problem in the Kernel itself.
idk if its possible (I think it is, i've never tried it), if you could flash a new kernel and check?
I'll try if i can but this week I'm very busy...

Anyway I'll try asking the kernel developer for information, thank you all for your help.

I was facing a problem with wifi in stock ROM that I can't open it more than 3 times and I had to reboot to open it another time but when I flashed CM7 RC5.5 this problem disappeared, so I can open and close wifi as I want!

well, please make ur problems much clear, because u said that ur facing problems. what problems? is the wifi won't connect ? or does ur wifi keeps disconnecting?
furthermore u said about improving the wifi performance. I have no idea is that even plausible, because if i'm not mistaken that one is on the hardware inside the phone.~
Update to 2.3.6
Hmm.. just updates ur phone to GB 2.3.6... everythink will be fine..
or use any updated custom roms
bad speeds

Hello Community!
I've got a problem with my Galaxy Ace. I've installed the latest CM7 nightly (2012-10-14) and installed CronMod INT2EXT+ script.
In addition i've installed the newest Firekernel (2012-10-09) OC, official.
I've encountered a problem while using Bluetooth. With enabled Bluetooth the phone won't go into Deep Sleep mode. Is it a Kernel problem, or has it something to do with CM7?
Hoping to find a solution for my problem.
Cheers
Alex
Hello

Did you find a solution ?
Maybe it's normal behaviour ?

Nope, no solution till now... I think i will try it with the stock kernel of CM7... Maybe it's because of the Firekernel...

I installed stocklite v7.1 and no deep sleep problem.
I'll try to find from were comes the problem in the following days.
I'll update you
Stock CM Kernel
I've just tried the stock CM7 Kernel, but also no Deep Sleep while Bluetooth is enabled.
The rom with wich i encoutered this problem is based on cm7.
Maybe we are not alone in this case but nobody else care about it.

Jep, i think so too.. I am not allowed (min. 10 posts) to post in the DEV section till now...
I've bought a SmartWatch, but without Bluetooth connection it's not that smart but i dont want to charge my Phone every day... And also Stock for the Ace is not really an option for me... I prefer CM7...

You should try Stocklite 7.1
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1703094
It has a very good battery life
I added int2ext+ to extend internal memory to sdcard
adrenaline engine to speed up the phone
firekernel
and ICS MOD http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1926596
now my rom is pretty close to CM7

Okay, seems to be a nice combination of mods...
But Firekernel with a Stock ROM? Is everything working properly then (WiFi, Bluetooth)?

Like a charm
I tried many roms, for me its the best in terms of battery life/reactivity (i don't play games).
I had strange behaviour after installing one of those mods (on don't remember wich one) but after a restart everithing is ok.
In this configuration mi battery is at 60% after a day of work (about 12 hours), my average use is half an hour of call, bluetooth always on and connected during one hour, wifi and 3g always on.
I use Juice defender but never compared with and without
Nice, but when i tried the ROM yesterday i was not able to see my SmartWatch...
Neither with the ROMs Kernel, nor with the Firekernel... I tried only the ROM without any modification but also the same result!
I was able to connect to my Notebook and to other Phones but i was not able to see my Smartwatch.
Very strange behavior and i don't know why... My Notebook and other Phones could connect to the Watch... Now i switched back to CM7 and it's working again...

Yes, I tried it but it's not working for me either... Damn Deep Sleep problem...
Hy, i have a Galaxy Next Plus(it's a tim-italian version of pop plus) and everything was fine since i flashed some custom roms.
The problem is that i can't connect to wifi...no no. I CAN connect(it says connected) BUT there is no internet acces.
I mention that when i bought the phone wifi works but after roms flashing it does not. Now i am using stock rom 2.3.6 with px-kernel 2.6.35.7
What i should do to fix it?
P.S.:i tried reset, data wipe restart, battery pull, dial *#*#526 or something... etc and i still can not acces internet with wifi connection (i can use hsdpa)
maybe the problem is in hardware...
Have you flashed the stock firmware along with the stock kernel?

I don't think so because when i bought the phone (almost 3 months ago) everything works ok. But if no rom/kernel or other software thing fix it, i will send it to services too see if is a hardware problem..

Hello,
I'm having problems with wi-fi connection,in fact it doesn't connect at all.
I'm running on CyanogenMod 10.1 i also was in slim bean before CM,and in slim bean the wi-fi connection problem started.
First when i put in the Slim bean, the Wi-Fi worked for a week ,then it didn't worked anymore.
The option "On-Off" to connect,it's often disabled so i can't even turn it on to search, and sometimes when i turn it on,it just keeps looking for Wi-Fi and nothing appears, though i have Wi-Fi in my house.
Does anyone know what should i do ?
p.s i got samsung galaxy s1 gt-i9000
Regards

As you can see, issues regarding Wi-Fi connectivity is related to the kernel that's installed. Try flashing a different kernel and check if it has any improvements.

if your device is i9000, I suggest go for Devil Kernel it's been great since then. Just download the zip file put it in your storage, go to recovery (CWM) and flash it in there. There are instructions in that thread. Godspeed!
