i waited so long for it to get here but it was worthwhile !
best case i came across for nexus 7 , one more thing that make it worth is the screen saver, it very high quality !
this is my fist unboxing for you, hope youi like it
I'm not a big fan of the cases that cover the screen. Others I've seen are bulky. This seems like the perfect fit for me. It's barely noticeable and adds an extra line of defense, except for the screen. I just don't like having my screen covered by anything, not even screen protectors.
Thanks for this.
Good unboxing vid! I have a kickstand case from nillkin for my Sensation and is a quality product. I see that the micro USB has good clearing so that you can use different USB Cords if needed.
looks googd.
debating this or a folio type case.

I noticed it really is a lot like the S line case many sell. My question is this case totally smooth? The matte color area on the S line is textured which is nice but the seam runs along the edges making this slightly uncomfortable to hold for a long period of time. I can't go naked with this tablet but it's much more fatiguing with the case on. I think if the case were totally smooth it would be more comfortable. The 7 inch form factor for me is really pushing the limit for one handed use, the slight increase in bulk even from the tpu case pushes it that much further for me. I'm 6'3 but I have average length fingers. If I had big bear mitts maybe this wouldn't matter. Just curious.

Hey I just ordered one!!
I've been looking for a decent gel case for ages. The generic S and X cases looked really cheap and nasty.
I hope its a really tight fit. Never heard of Nillkin but from your vid and the pictures it looks real quality.
Now I just have to be patient and wait for it to ship from China to the UK

The image a lot of sellers were using for the S and X cases were badly done concept art not the actual case, the reality is very different they are actually very nice well made cases.
I got a clear "iTALKonline S-Line" TPU case and its excellent quality it actually looked tighter to fit than this one, I'm also in the UK got mine from Amazon £3.49 free delivery came the next day.

I bought mine from tablet.world on Ebay for $12.70 shipped. It looks like they do ship workwide too.
Just do an eBay search for Nillkin Nexus 7.
Do these Nillkin cases fit better than the S line cases? I have an S line and it just isn't snug enough. The sides tend to flex away from the device way too easily.
Thank you for effort in making this video. I only would like to suggest next time when you do videos, please turn your camera in panoramic view. In youtube, the black space on the sides occupied more room than your actual video, which is more important. Just a tip!
Anyhow, thanks again!

So I was hoping we could talk about high quality cases that look good and may cost more than the usual cases found on ebay etc. Even though I understand cheap is good at times I do prefer my cases to be of a high standard to hold my precious Nexus 7.
Any high quality cases on the horizon?
I've been looking at a sleeve. I can't post a link, but it's leather and comes with a 100 year warranty. It's by Saddleback Leather and is the medium gadget sleeve.

Saddleback is GOOD stuff. Might have to see if they have one that will fit the N7, otherwise might be able to request one.
Someday I'd love to get a Saddleback Attache. They are beautiful and will last long enough to pass down to grandkids (I don't have kids yet)!
http://www.timbuk2.com/tb2/products/kindle-fire-plush-sleeve/1992727
These are $19-25
Timbuk2 makes really great cases. They are currently on sale for the kindle fire. I have double checked the dimensions and it will def fit the Nexus 7. The great thing about the Timbuk2 cases are the functional design. They have a pillow style memory foam padding and ballistic Nylon outside, and a plush, velour faux fur lining for the inside. The faux fur really goes a long way to keeping the screen and body scratch free.
I have 2 on order. They have a couple of different color combos to choose from. I am def into the sleeve style cases. I don't understand why anyone would want to put their tablet or e-reader in a jacket. They are designed to be held, especially the Nexus 7. The rubber back just begs to be gripped.
I'm hoping for a nice case from Incipio. Love the case from them that I have on my Galaxy Nexus.
I went with the roocase super bubble and XOSkin screen protector. I will eventually get a TPU case but don't really like any that are out now.
Those handcrafted leather ones look amazing though! Very nice brand name for other leather goods, but I didn't know they made this line of stuff.

I've asked Oberon Design if they're planning to make one for the Nexus 7. http://oberondesign.com/e-reader-covers-4/siena-ereader-covers.html I've had two of their covers and they're amazing. Their tablet cover isn't intricate like their Ebook reader covers but the quality is definitely there.

Actually, I got a reply this morning - a good one:
"We are looking into making a cover specifically for the Nexus. We have one ordered and once we receive it we will be able to develop our design. I don’t know at this point if the siena style will be an option or not. We will have to see. Stay tuned for more information on our website and facebook page.
Thanks so much for your interest."
I told her that I don't care which one it is, to keep me posted. I love their cases. :good::good:
DODOcase makes great handmade case for the iPad and Kindle. I contacted them asking about the Nexus 7 and they said,

Does anyone know if the official N7 case works as a horizontal kickstand?
I bought the Timbuk2 Plush Sleeve, which is designed for the Kindle Fire, but the Nexus 7 is within the maximum dimensions. I've always been a big fan of their stuff and this sleeve is no exception... super nice!
FYI... I can confirm the Plush sleeve for the Fire fits the N7 perfectly.
I also asked a G+ question to Vajacases.com. Genuine Argentinian leather products. I began using them on my Sony Clie back in the days of pdas
Awesome product, almost to the par of Oberon cases. I have one on my wife's old Nook but looks great.

Or even some high quality leather case maker that you have used on another phone that you do not know if it will come out. Mannnn that is prettty
man, if I could just get that next model:

without the snap closure, I would be a happy man. That case looks perfect.
Wish I could find one that for the card slots had a clear cover for one so I can stick my license in it, and have it be visible.
I have this one and very happy with it : w ww.pdair.com/index.php/leather-case-for-samsung-galaxy-note-ii-n7100-flip-type-black-1.html (sorry link restriction for new member prevent to post a working link)

I was also interested in the Zenus case but didn't like the "accents" on the front. There is also Puhama case (Expensive Handmade) ww w.etsy.com/listing/111843451/hc10-hand-stitched-handmade-personalized?ref=sr_gallery_19&ga_search_query=note+2+leather&ga_view_type=gallery&ga_ship_to=US&ga_search_type=all

Then you have the ones from China.. Ebay obviously has a lot. This is one of the few that stood out to me ww w.ebay.com/itm/Brown-Deluxe-Leather-Card-Stand-Flip-Wallet-Case-for-Samsung-Galaxy-Note-2-N7100-/130792440457?pt=PDA_Accessories&hash=item1e73d64289
Be warned with that last one, it has a magnet clasp, I was going to tear out the magnet and install a snap if I had purchased the case. I did not want to wait for it to arrive from China though.
Once the Spigen case gets here I will do a review and upload a couple photos. (New member restrictions permitting  )

No problem, just another forewarning that it has a magnetic clasp system. It might affect the screen, creating a dead spot while in the case. Not too sure if it can cause permanent issues just know there was a thread going around warning about the issues with magnet cases. I'm also assuming for that price that its faux leather, just another aspect of the case to bear in mind. Other than that it does look pretty nice :good:

Yeah, my hope is the magnet is too weak to cause issues.
This will be my theme park case so I can consolidate my wallet and phone into one.
And for the price I won't mind if it takes some damage unlike the cases that are 4-5x as much.

This thing case looks great but the reviews on it for the 7 are pretty bad. Either they say it is very hard to remove from the case or it has flimsy/broken legs on the stand.

Get it, I love mine regardless of its flimsy stand (the smaller stand is flimsy, the large one is pretty sturdy in landscape mode). I got rid of the built in screen protector and used a skinomi and its perfect. It withstands the abuse of constantly being placed into a briefcase, its durable, and its about 12-1/3 of the price any otterbox or seidio case would be.
I have this case as well, and really like it, except one issue. The rubber that goes around the outside, is kinda loose around the top, and front facing camera area. U can seat it, but it just won't stay flush.... anyone else?
I just got mine today. I it is a decent case but the price has gone up on amazon since I bought it. The rubber does seem loose at the top like someone else stated. I the screen guard that is built in is decent, but I punched it out since I have a zagg invisishield.

Anyone else having issues with this case and video chat apps?
My N10 was behaving like an old, cheap speakerphone with Tango (choppy audio, bad mic) until I took the case off. Then it cleared right up.
Wondering if it might have been compressing the tablet in the mic/speaker region, or otherwise deflecting the sound?
Only me?

There are two different versions of the case, and on expan they only have one picture of it.
Version 1 is like an iPad smart cover where it folds up in the back for it to stand up. Version 2 is like my poetic hardback case where you put the tablet into the "indents." I hate covers where you have to fold it up in the back to stand it up, so I'm going to email expansys and ask which one it is. It seems like it's version 1, the fold up one.

My wife got me this one for xmas http://www.amazon.com/i-Blason-Goog...d=1357244965&sr=1-2&keywords=iblason+nexus+10 I like it.
It looks like exactly what you are looking for, costs $18.00 and smells like leather to me. The only fault I can find is that there is no opening on the bottom for the POGO charger, whenever that is available, so you have to open the case to be able to use it. But for $18.00 and Amazon (who are excellent on returns if you don't like it) it's hard to go wrong.
I picked up one from Bear Motion on Amazon. It's much nicer than you'd think considering the price. They make a brown one too. Magnetic seal and auto-sleep/wake. After using it a few days, it has softened up a bit and feels even nicer.
Search 'Bear Motion Genuine Cowhide nexus 10' on Amazon. I don't have enough posts to put any links in yet.
Additionally, I bought a clear screen protector and carbon fiber 'style' protector for the sides and back from Skinomi. (Their website is cheaper than Amazon and used a promo code 'skinomi25' for 25% off.) I am not usually good at installing such things but it turned out pretty well.

I ordered a Bear Motion from Amazon. It arrived today but was a mistake. The one I received was clearly for another, smaller tablet. Anyway if the one for the Nexus 10 is the same material I wouldn't like it. If it is real leather it fooled me. It is very pleather-like. I now have my eye on much more expensive leather cases like the ones that people are selling on Etsy or Nor eve.

Can not post a link yet, will try later.
I would say the top of the speaker is covered about .5” or less. I haven't noticed any issues with sound. It is actually leather, though it's really stiff at first. The inside has some sort of soft/fuzzy cloth lining. I'm pretty happy with mine so far. I used a skinomi wrap/screen cover too for extra peace of mind.

Additionally, I bought a clear screen protector and carbon fiber 'style' protector for the sides and back from Skinomi. (Their website is cheaper than Amazon and used a promo code 'skinomi25' for 25% off.) I am not usually good at installing such things but it turned out pretty well.

Looks decent, but expensive. How sturdy/snug is that clipping mechanism?

I ordered one a few days ago. When it gets here I will let you know, but black is the only color they keep in stock. Everything else is made-to-order. I got a brown one, so it might be a few weeks.
One think to keep in mind is the Noreve site includes VAT in the prices. If you create an account, it will update the price to exclude VAT (as long as you live somewhere that doest do VAT). They also ship free. Still pretty expensive though. It was around $92 for mine.
One thing that is pretty cool is they link to third party reviews of their product and they are organized by device, case color, and language. At least one of them is a video review of a case for the Nexus 7. I didn't see any reviews for a Nexus 10 case, but the other reviews give you a pretty good idea of the quality.

Update on the Bear Motion case, still a great case overall especially for what I paid, but I have noticed a flaw. The cutout for the POGO port has no stitching between the leather outer material and the interior lining. The adhesive has broken down a little and the lining is just a tiny bit loose around the opening. I intend to fix this myself with a needle, some black thread and about 5 minutes. This does have the potential to happen on the edges of the leather areas that do not have stitching though.
It should be noted the area with this issue flexes A LOT though. I'll post a picture later. It is very minor and I'd still buy this case again, but the manufacturer could easily prevent this with an extra couple inches of stitching.

I received my Noreve case yesterday, so it took a little over three weeks to get to me (it is faster if you pick a black color). It is clearly much higher quality than the Bear Motion case I tried previously and better anything else I have seen on Amazon.
That does not mean I don't have any complaints. Mind you, these are pretty minor but they are complaints nonetheless.
Firstly, they have some sort of thin layer of open cell foam under the front cover. Yesterday when you pressed a bit on the front cover, you could feel and hear the foam compressing. Today, after having it in my messenger bag, that sounds seems to have worked itself out. I much prefer the feel of the back, which seems to be leather right on top of plastic. The inside front cover has some sort of rubber or gel padding and I like that too, but I am not sure the inside front cover is leather. I don't think it is. I guess they are going for a soft, cushy feel on the front.
Secondly, the clasp is slightly annoying. Someone asked how firm it was and I will say it is pretty firm. It definitely stays closed and I have no complaints about how well it functions, but the problem is the clasp on the front cover prevents the device from laying flat when the cover is folded back because the clasp points down.
The last complaint I have is the process of converting it to stand mode. You have to pop the tablet out of the bottom of the case to stand it up. This isn't an easy or quick task because the case grips the tablet pretty tight.
Despite my complaining you just read, I actually really do like the case. It is definitely quality made with quality materials.

I bought directly from the site of the seller.
I've been a user of this case since my last phone (HTC Evo LTE). The case did me really well on that phone and it was slim on form factor. Protector was also very good on the previous phone as I've dropped it couple times with the phone in the case. No damage were shown on the case or on the phone. Because of this, I decided that I would choose the same company again if I were to change phones.
This time around, I went with the Samsung Note 2 as an upgrade to my previous phone. The case wasn't announced when I got the phone, but soon after they decided to make the case. I bought it the second day it was announced through the owners site. Case arrived quickly and the quality is still superb. If you check this listing, there's a few photos that I posted which represented the case. When you lay the case flat with the phone inserted, it's basically the same thickness as the Evo LTE with the phone in a diztronic case. Adds very very minimal bulk which doesn't affect the usability.
The back of the case is a matte finish. This matte finish actually allows the user to grip the phone better. That's not just it, the finish also reduces all fingerprints and dust particles.
Phone cutouts are all perfect and aligned to the spot. Power button and volume buttons use a soft silicon touch. It's covered, but in no way does it affect the touch. I can still easily press those buttons and the phone would respond to my action.
Overall, great case! Price is right! Go for it!
Im pretty pleased with mine too even though I normally dont use tpu protectors. It has a really nice feel and the sides seem like they provide substantial protection. No real complaints from me. I know diztronic has a great reputation and this was my first case from them so im happy.

Im on the same boat!! I detest silicone and TPU cases as they are flimsy and stretchy, causing plenty of dusts to get trapped inside and scratch the device. But when I saw this case on Diztronic site I was very amazed so I ordered one. It arrived fairly fast despite the holiday seasons for US to Australia. Been using for 2 days and have to say, the best TPU case I've ever seen. The texture is very very nice, matte and really nice to touch and hold, raised lips to protect the screen, cover all the buttons (my favourite features), compact and thin enough but still have a decent protection from it. I'm very happy with this case, by far the best case I've got for Note 2 yet.
The only thing they should improve is to stick with matte texture all the way rather than having the raised lips/edges in glossy texture. And the seams could use some clean up.
Perhaps. I kinda like the edges with the smooth finish. Feels good when I need to stretch fingers across the whole phone.
One other plus I noticed is it seems to not get stretched easy. As I said this is my first Diztronic case so I'm sure others already know, but I've taken it on and off about 5 times and it still fits tight.

How's the grip on it? I want something with some decent grip so that behemoth doesn't slip out of my hands lol.

I think it's pretty firm on my end. I don't seem to loose control of it when it's in my hand.
I just want to pipe in and say I really like the Diztronic tpu case on my note 2. I used their cases on my Galaxy Nexus and was very happy. They add very little weight and size to the phone, yet I feel like my phone has pretty decent protection. My Galaxy Nexus still looks brand new, even though I dropped it a few times. I've dropped my note 2 one time and it still looks perfect.

Can't wait to get mine. I been thru quite a few cases hope this is the last one, it seems to fit all the criteria.
Diztronic is my preferred case-maker. Good quality, decent prices, great fit and feel. Can't ask for more than that.
Quick question on people who has it, I checked out the bodyglove case from sprint, and while it fits nice the sides were flimsy, does the diztronic fit nice and tight on the sides?

Yes, Diztronic is not as loose on the edges compared to Bodyglove.

I just with Diztronic would make their cases in more colors.
They've got a clear white frosted one as well. Just ordered one.. for my Titanium note. Seems counter (color) intuitive, but should be interesting

Please upload some pictures of that combination when you receive it, as I have been wondering about that look as well.
On diztronics website they say they only recommend the frosted clear case with the white model.
