running apex launcher on gummy aceidently deleted that button that takes you to that screen that has all your apps that you can drag to different screens and now cant ifgure out how to get it back. I am sure that it something simple that I am missing please help.
I am not sure because am on Jellybean since a month, but try this.
Long press the home screen, you'll get a menu for Shortcuts, select the shortcut (the one you want).
all long press does is bring up recent apps
Long press the screen, NOT THE HOME BUTTON.!!!!!

One appears to be android without senseUI.. which boots up automatically.
The other is Sense.
below these two options is a don't ask me again.
Now If I choose one of these to be the default, is there any alternative method between navigating between the 2? perhaps with a shortcut icon on the home screens?
PErfect! [This message is now long enough to post]
If you dont have homeswitcher.. or you dont plain on every switching agian.. The manual way to switch is....
Go to setting>applications>manage applications
Find the launcher that is set as your default. Htc Sense, Launcher, helix...
Then click on it and scroll down and hit "clear default"
Press the home key again, and it will ask what home screen to use.
Alright, I did some searching, but like any forum, it's generally messy.
I was interested updating my Nook, to either Froyo, or Gingerbread(?), or the latest firmware from B&N...
Rooting it, and retaining root.
Perhaps getting GApps
Definitely getting Market access.
If anyone could point me to the best links in an orderly fashion, I would appreciate that many folds.

good luck
you don't even need to search. all of the threads are on the first page of the dev forum.
That may be but I wasn't aware that development was for the general user. I'm new here using my husband's account.
Thanks for the help guys.

What launcher are you using, stock?
Yes... is there a method to do it with stock via ADB or a launcher you recommend?
Try LauncherPro or ADW, or just search the market for "Launcher". After you install a new launcher, the next time that you press your home button, you'll see a dialog with the list of installed launcher apps with a checkbox at the bottom.
If you have SoftKeys installed, I'd set that as the default (ticking the checkbox), and then configure SoftKeys to passthru a single press of the home button to LauncherPro, ADW, or whatever you want for a home screen manager/launcher.
Once you replace the stock launcher, to add a widget, perform a "long press" on the home screen. This is simply pressing on an available (no icon) area of the home screen for ~2 seconds. You should now see the "Add to home screen" dialog where you can select from several actions. Select "Widgets" and a list of available widgets will be displayed.
HTH
Ok set soft keys as home now how doi configure it to passthrough?
Go to the app drawer and launch SoftKeys. Click the screwdriver icon on the toolbar that appears at the bottom of the screen. This will bring you to the SoftKeys configuration screen.
Select "Virtual Home Button"
Select "Normal Press"
A list of all installed launchers will appear.
Select the one that you want the SoftKeys virtual home button to launch when it's pressed.
Press the back button
Select "Physical Home Button"
Select "Button"
Select the option "Single Tap Launcher, Double Tap SoftKeys"
Now, when you press the home button, you'll go straight to your default launcher. A quick double-press will take you to the SoftKeys app, which acts as a task switcher, among many other things.
Thanks that was a big help guys.
Hello, I have tried searching with no luck. I currently have Zeam installed and would like to somehow make a shortcut to the stock B&N launcher, so I can switch between the two quick. I know there is home switcher, but I don't want to have to access a separate program to switch home screens. I want to get to it from the zeam home screen. Thanks in advance.
I don't think you can do that unless you use home switcher.
Sent from my LogicPD Zoom2 using XDA App
If you have SoftKeys installed, you can set different homes for the hardware N button and the SoftKeys home button. I have mine set so that the SoftKeys home button takes me to the B&N stock home, and the hardware N button takes me to Zeam.

I also use softkeys. Currently I'm set up so that a single press of the N button brings up softkeys. A short press on the softkeys home key takes me to Zeam and a long press takes me to the B&N launcher. Also, a quick double tap of the N button will take me straight to Zeam.
Like one of the other posters said, I don't think that there's an elegant way to place a shortcut on the Zeam home screen. A more "hackish" solution would be to remove the default action for your N button press. That way when you press the N button, it will prompt you to choose either B&N or Zeam.
Is it just me or does the home button not allways take you back to the homescreen?
I have found that for some reason when coming out of an app etc and pressing home it takes me back to the app draw and not directly to my pre defined home screen. It basically does what the back screen should (if it were working half the time!)
I cant see any possible logic for it to do this...the home button should take you back to blink feed or the home screen you have set as your 'home screen'
Anyone else have this or think it strange or give me some logical reason why it does it
thanks
That's how sense 5 works.
It treats the App drawer as another home screen. Press home again, and you'll go back to the home screen.
It was a conscious decision by HTC to do it that way...
and yes, i also find it annoying.
Coming from S2, I know it is long overdue lol, and got used to touch-style Home button, I would love to get back to home by just tapping instead of pressing Home button. Is it even possible?
Thanks.

There are two ways that it can be done.
Once we have a proper custom recovery like twrp you can use the softkey mod
which has the option of adding three softkeys menu/home/back buttons on the
bottom of your screen, they look exactly like real softkeys and are transparent.
The other way to do it would take a bit of getting used to is
the mod which can re-assign the back and menu keys to be
the home key or basically any anything else and can be
configured for long press, double tap or single tap.
Some of the high end launchers already have this feature of
re-assigning keys built-in like the "Next launcher 3D shell".
The Next launcher even has option to replace the home key
by simply swiping up or down to replicate the home button's
default/normal single tap.
With the Next Launcher, we do not even need root or custom recovery.
Good luck!
I've used Go launcher free version forever and got used to swipe down anywhere to bring down notification, I wonder if TouchWiz has this function? With the phone of this size, this function is a must.
And I miss AOSP dialer, swipe left or right to go to next tab. Touchwiz's dialer has the tabs on the top, makes it impossible to use it 1 hand.
