Blackout ICS - Back to ICS Stock? - Desire HD Themes and Apps

Hello!
I recently flashed the new blackout ICS rom to the desire. The sad thing is, it isn't the ICS theme I am accustomed too, it is the HTC sense theme. Is there anyway for me to go back to the normal ICS Theme I know and love?? Thanks!

Yes, flash any AOSP ICS ROM.

Will that allow me to have the working camera fixes and such that just hit?

Blackout has an option to choose ics.

AFAIK the option is only during the installer and not for the actual theme itself

Well sadly after some research this doesnt seem to be much of an option. I'll leave the topic in case anyone else has some suggestions

Yes, the theme selection is only changes what the AROMA installer looks like. Blackout ICS is a Sense ROM. If you want something closer to a Nexus, as already suggested flash a AOSP or AOKP ROM.
Try Ice Cold Sandwich 8.6.1, working camera, 720p video camcorder and all.

You can do what I did when I tried blackout ICS, I used nova launcher to get the vanilla look and feel. But if you want to it to be stock try out ice cold 8.6.1 and download lgcamera from the play store. That has the closest feel and options of the dhd camera.

I am on ICS Stunner v4.3 now. Better than imilka's AOSP. Highly recommended!
Sent from my GT-N7000 using XDA
The best rom for me is ICS Stunner 4.3. I noticed a few problems while using double twist but other than that its amazing and not battery consumer. I can last 16-18 hours with moderate whatsapp use and surfing
+1 for Stunner.
There's 3 types of roms:
A) Stock Rom (aka OEM's ROM) - the rom that's shipped with the device.
B) Custom Rom (ie/ "in between roms") - these are like VillianROMs, they're OEM based roms but altered by a 3rd-party developer (eg xda) for the *better*
C) AOSP Rom (ie/ based on Google's Source Code) - examples are AOSP, AOKP, CyanogenMod, MIUI.
For any new device, you always get access to A-type roms first, then B-type, then C-typer...understood?
For me, C > B > A in-terms of overall experience (as long as they offer you the features you want and are stable).
And in terms of C-type roms; MIUI > CM9 = AOKP > AOSP.
...other important points, use your favourite launcher with any rom, have all primary apps inverted (white -> black background), use a dark theme and replace the cyan detailing with a crimson one*.
So what's the best (imho) right now: neobuddy's ICS-Stunner v4.3
It's nearly 100% perfect. The only problems is a little stability issues (rare), no Super-optimized kernel (one that clocks higher while saving battery), and no support for the S-Pen.
Otherwise: maxicet's MidNote v3.1
It's not as fluid as ICS Stunner, doesn't have the AOKP options, but its decent daily driver and the S Pen works.
*Not the best example, but this red theme would save you lots of battery life, especially on a AMOLED screen:

Yes.
There already is one or two beta's. I'd advise against those at this stage. The CMT will likely support the AT&T version. They will also (officially)support the international version but that would be in 6 months time from now. (Just like they did on the i9000).

It's already available, he just hasn't posted it on xda. PM him if you want a copy or just wait a couple hours for his OpeningPost to change. Its normally just updating the system/apps to the latest with a little bug fixes and going back to ext4 (which should make things even smoother).

Ice cold sandwich really is the best
Thank!!!
First question would be, sense or no sence.
For Sense, I shortly tried Flash One, and it felt quite good, if you are a the sense type.
No Sense, Icecold has had slot of work done to it, but develipment has stopped. Playground is pretty new, feels food too and has a developer working.
I prefer having a ROM with ongoing developnent until we have one that actually finishes.

Stable ICS Rom

Hello,
I flashed the Rooted Stock ICS Rom but found it very laggy. Its just too slow. So I have decided to flash a custom ICS Rom on my Incredible S.
Please advise as to which ICS Rom would be perfect for my needs. I am looking for a Stable and a snappy ICS Rom. Should I go with Android Revolution HD or We want ICS by Nik. Which of these are stable. Any other recommendations can also be suggested by you guys. Is there any stable Rom with Sense 4 or should I just stick to Sense 3.6 now. I like Sense so please suggest stable ICS Roms that have Sense 3.6 or 4.

I've used Nik Aura Rebirth for a while and it's a really stable and nice Sense ROM. Haven't had any issues with it (except camera not working at 8 Mpx but that's OK 'cause it works like a charm at 5 Mpx )
Also, I think that Sense 4A is better for our device since it was originally made more lightweight. To my opinion, it's much better than stock Sense 3.6.
But I need all the features working including camera. Does niks aura rebirth have a camera fix so that it could work fine

Ice Cold Sandwhich has been great for me save for one thing,
If I reboot my phone I loose haptic feedback.
anyone know if that is a known issue, I tried searching didnt find anything.
If I wipe, re-flash it'll come back on. But the instant I reboot, its gone, and no amount of fiddling seems to bring it back on. I'd love to just ask in the Ice Cold Sandwhich thread, but as I'm a noob even with a legitmate bug or issue I'm restricted from posting.
So forgive me if this isn't the right area, I'm just going to keep asking in ICS threads until I can!

Nik's We Want ICS with Leedroid tweaks installed(supersmooth rosie) is about as smooth as they come. also has the most features working out of all of them.
only issue is that the mobile network seems to be "always on".
not an avid rom flasher but i myself have been a user of quite a number of roms including the latest miui..but i prefer and love ice cold sandwich rossi edition the most, for its simplicity and smoothness. so far no unresolved issue on ice cold.
I run super-wipe & install ARHD 3.0.1, but my phone still feel laggy. Not sure what happening.
Now trying 'We Want ICS", at this moment, 3D carousel smooth most of the time. Apps drawer sometimes lag. The notification drop down, If I pull down its fast, i can see it lag.

[Q] What is the most stable custom AOSP/AOKP ROM with ICS based for our IncS?

Hi. I'm sorry but maybe same thread is already created somewhere but I can't find it. If there is, can anyone here provide link for the thread?
And if no, well, the title says it all. Can anyone here provide or suggest me the list of stable AOSP/AOKP ROM with ICS based for our Incredible S? Last time I've tried IceCold Sandwich 8.3 and encountered quite few bugs in term of camera since I'm more of a camera user. Hi there. If you're looking for stable Sense + ICS based ROM, you should probably try Nik ProjectX V4.1. This ROM works great for me.
For recovery, I use CWM. Never had problem to install any ROM using this recovery.
For kernel, I use ICS Sense G11 v2.0.1 (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1887379).
To include sig, you need to have post count at least 10 posts.

If you just want a stable ROM no matter what than i suggest ARHD It's just optimized stock ROM which makes it the most stable For recovery I would use 4EXT, it's the ebst imo. For kernel take l0st.prophet's XS-ICS kernel. You can edit your sig in your profile settings.

Which app do you use on movie? Mx or Mobo or someone other?
Thank you for your answer and comments.

Sabsa is really good, you should definitely give it a try For videos I use MX, it looks good and has got a very nice interface with great functions. And since you're obviously using a good headset you should really try DSP-Manager, which makes every music experience a freakin blast on your phone! It's just awesome!

On Sense or MIUI ROMs DSP-Manager. On AOSP/AOKP/CM ROMs ACID sound engine with AwesomeBeats Addon. The sound will blow you away!
lots of great ROMs out there
I am using CyanVivoX just like u. I came from Paranoid Android. As of now, I have tried quite a number of different ROMs. I have tried CyanVivoX, Codename Android, Paranoid Android, ViperVivo by Team Venom, Sabsa Prime v12, Nik Project X, Cooldroid Revolution, Virtuous Quattro, virtuous Infinity, and Rebased Multilang MIUI4
I first tried Sabsa Prime and i loved it for its sense 4 and its mods included. However i decided to try ViperVivo simply cuz it had more to offer in terms of customization. However Sense bogged my phone down a lot and thats when i decided to transition to an AOSP based ROM and that brought me to Paranoid Android.
Of all of them my favourite is Paranoid Android, but Launcher just crashed way too much for me. So i decided to give CyanVivoX a try and i dont regret it. Trebuchet has only crashed like once or twice on me over the past 2 weeks and i think that it would be worth to keep. I have also tried Pacman ROM but the problem with that is that it doesnt read any microSD card. (love to report that but dont have my 10 posts yet lol)
With all that in mind, if u do make the move to Sabsa Prime, its a great ROM with a number of good Mods included. If i were to change back to a Sense ROM, Sabsa Prime would definitely be my go.
So... I choose Sabsa for my phone.
(I had CyanVivo X and Trebuchet fall down everyday)
But I have little problem.
I download youtube, but I just can´t login. I try remove google account in phone and login one more time, but still nothing.
Some advice?

yea there are still a number of problems in Sabsa. I also cudnt log into youtube, and if u tried updating apps from within the playstore, that also doesnt work. Thats one of the reasons why i got to CyanVivoX.
Another great alternative for JB AOSP would be Paranoid Android. its a great ROM with a number of different configuration modes like phone, phablet, and tablet UI. I liked it a lot.

Anyway, I'd recommend you (op) to try PACman. Only thing in the current version is that WiFi doesn't work, but there's a new version coming up soon.

OP complains that his current ROM is buggy; recommends a ROM where the WiFi doesn't work.
Yes, I had to.
There are a couple of other good ROMs too:
1. For tweaks and good level of customizations, you can go for IceColdSandwich 8.3 (currently inactive though)
2. For an improved version of HTC Stock ICS ROM, you can go for ARHD
3. For Sense 4 ROM, try sabsa prime, it has less tweaks but included JB butter and other applications. Also it is a very stable ROM
4. For a different UI experience, try the Paranoid Android JB ROM or MIUI ROM - I am currently on MIUI 3.1.11 and am quite satisfied in terms of experience and battery life.. Further MIUI fixes are released weekly.
5. There is a new PACman ROM which combines Paranoid, Aokp and Cyanogen features.. It is on CM10..http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2105869

Hi everyone,
I use now CyanVivo X because I want next Cyanogenmod but there are too many little bugs and battery life is too short and Trebuchet has bugs in rotation and Klipsch app on headset now working good (maybe problems with Poweramp).
Do you like this one? http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1919039
It looks good but do you have some comments?
Kernel is older but if it works fine, why not?
Which app do you use on movie? Mx or Mobo or someone other?
Thank you for your answer and comments.
Sorry for my english.

There has been a fix for wifi now. i think its on page 3 or 4 at the bottom of the page. I dont know if its jsut me but the ROM doesnt recognize my SD Card. Thats why i stayed away from it. Paranoid Android is a great ROM. Excellent level of customization. For sense, u cud go sabsa prime (please keep in mind that it isnt possible to update apps in google play store) or vipervivo. ViperVivo has a good level of customization. Thats clear from the devs creating the venom hub.
Well, ive tried lots if ROMs, but ARHD is the one I allways go back to. It has great battery life, no bugs and it just works. I used to really like ice cold sandwich and other stock android ROMs but Optus + AOSP/AOKP isn't a good combination xD

Also, I'll add that the ROMs with higher sense versions than 3.6 seem to clog my device pretty badly. Add first, they run great, but after a day or 2, It's reeeeeeally slow and unresponsive.

I seem to like the ViperVivo 1.3.1.
