I installed a local news app which is optimised for resolution 1200x800. I was unable to download through Google play due to this but found the apk in a forum. It works sort of well except that the bottom of some articles are cut off. I was wondering if anyone had any ideas on how to overcome this maybe some sort off app that stretches the articles ?
Edit
Got it working perfectly though I used an app called 'blade buddy' which actually had 2 settings which I could change the LCD density. I changed both to 150 and the Age app plus my keyboard works perfectly. I could see one of the density settings changed to 159 so that must be the the one I changed through the LCD resolution app. Thanks for your responses hope these posts help somebody else.
I am on Cyanogen 10 -Jellybean.

Market, find the app, email developer.. That's the only solution is to have them fix it in the app itself.
newest version seems to work.
I'm wondering if anyone else has this problem. I changed the LCD density in build.prop using Root Explorer. Everything is working fine, however when I tried to download a couple of apps from the market that I had previously installed (then uninstalled) it said my device was not compatible. I changed the LCD density back and was able to download them fine.
After downloading the apps again I changed the LCD density back to 200, and even though it said my device was not compatible, the apps run perfectly.
I've seen a few other threads on this issue for different devices but nobody has come up with a fix. Are others on this device experiencing the same issues and does anyone know of a fix?
Thanks!
Yep, I first noticed it yesterday. "My Apps" in the Market didn't list everything I had downloaded, and I wasn't able to see a MOG update that I knew had been posted. I wish I'd known off the bat it was a density issue (I was running 200 at the time) instead of doing a factory reset, getting stuck in clockwork for a little while, and reflashing my rom...
This is a really noob question..i've been seeing all these posts about display density... What is the advantage of modifying this?

Gives it a more high definition look, and makes the gigantic items on this phone smaller.
I'm Revolting and Home-Less, how about you?
I lowered the density by 10 just to try and it really effed up the phone app so I restored it.

"Paid" apps are supposed to verify you own them before they work right? I have seen before where if I remove my gmail account from my tablet then some apps break and won't run properly. With that said, I paid for sketchbook pro and can't re-download it to my Xoom because 3.2.2 changed the screen density. I'm looking for a way to get the app again without going through "unkown" sources. The screen density change has caused the market to drop it entirely off the list when browsing from my Xoom and from the web I can't push it back to the Xoom.
I did download a "copy" but when I run it it says cracked by so and so and I really don't trust cracked software so I uninstalled it.
Are you able to download it to your XOOM from the online browser market? If you have a VZW XOOM, it should still work. If not, you may have to download it to your phone and pull the APK and sideload it on your XOOM (your phone would have to be rooted to do that.)
Also, for future reference, Titanium Backup is your friend.

Trying to push it to the Xoom = your device is incompatible.
Autodesk has for some reason locked this app into only working on a certain screen density. It will not download to my Nexus One either.
And your tip is well noted, but who would have thought sending their Xoom off to get upgraded to 4G would come back a different screen density... and on top of that who knew it would make so many apps incompatible LOL.
Worst comes to worst... I can just wait. Autodesk will fix the issue on their own sooner or later but I thought I'd ask around.
I have a question to those with SB Pro too. How are your drawings on the Xoom? I can draw well with pencil and paper but the touch response on the xoom kills me. I can hardly get a line that's not all squiggly. This is making me consider a lenovo with a digitiser for my next tab.

They look terrible, but i'm not an artist by any stretch
Flash the tachi kernel and overclock to 1.5. It fixed my lag issues.

I wonder why in the world they would change the screen density. Is the change obvious? Does it look better, or worse?
Another thing you can try, if you're XOOM is rooted, is to change the screen density manually (or use the screen density changer app in the market) to something that the app will recognize, then change it back to stock after downloading the app and see if it works.

This. I am curious to know what density they changed it to. Was it only from sending it in for the 4G upgrade? I have an unrooted Xoom WiFi I am pretty sure stock density is 180. What did the stock density change to?
Hey guys is anyone else getting market issues with boca? I'm getting a lot of "sorry this app is not compatible with your device" errors.
120 views and no response? Lol

you need to change the DPI in the build.prop to 240
Flash gapps and change dpi to 160 for full tablet market (most compatable) or dpi 240 for full regular market.
Thanks for clearing that up diz, now though I'm going to have to figure out how to resize the android keyboard, as it looks kind of screwed up with the doing at 160.
XD

Simply install LcdDensity from Android market and temporarily change your dpi to 160 to be able to use the Market.

Hi whats the easiest way to inrease the screen DPI? I have a SGS3 and a Note3 infront of me but I dont see anything extra on the Note3 it's just magnified. Really pointless...unless you have poor eye sight!

I set the dpi on an app by app basis. I left the system as is and just decreased the system font size. I feel this combo works well for me. I used Xposed App Settings to do this.

Techweed,
I installed Xposed App Settings and played around with dpi setting
of 320 and 480 in contacts and the gallery, but didn't see any real change.
Can you provide any help?
Thanks,
Neil

I actually didn't change contacts or the gallery. That's strange though. I changed other apps like the Play Store and Youtube to 400 just to make everything a bit smaller and they've changed accordingly.
To tell you the truth I don't have that much experience with this either. So you've installed the framework correct? Did you save the changes you made to the two apps you mentioned?

Thanks Bladerunner,
That was informative and helpful. Showed me what I don't know
Even added another piece to the puzzle with Rom Toolbox,
which I need to checkout and read about.
I think I need to proceed slowly down this rabbit hole...

Bladerunner,
In the above thread you referenced, you stated you used rom toolbox to changed your whole system to 320 dpi
Where can I find that feature in rom toolbox?
Thanks,
Neil
Its the build prop editor open it and scroll all the way down and look for the LCD =480. Change it to whatever ya want then it'll prompt ya to reboot and after that DPI will be changed

When your open rom toolbox, Swype to the left and you will see the build prop editor button.
