Hi xda!
I was able to implement the emoji smileys in stock message app.
This is not only a font replacement!
The mod is still in development and i need some tester to make it bugfree
If you want to try download and flash the zip in attachment.
In the next day i will put online the stock keyboard with emoji support, for now use Emoji keyboard from Play Store
If you have problem in sending message change the writing mode from settings to Unicode or Auto

If you can get colored emoticons to show up in the stock messaging app, you can't be too far from having this method implemented throughout the entire system. This is good work, more should support this project. Lets get it going!

I have located the files that handle the smileys in the entire system, but for now can't make it work...

Huh? Isn't it based on XXDLIB JellyBean? Or is that just the restore file and this is based on an old one?
Working for me on Wanam 3.7 XXDLIB. Using the Jelly Bean Keyboard (VLLWP version) with emoji plugin.
BTW. Good job. HOW did you do this? Is it a feature that samsung made but never enabled?

How did you manage to get the jelly bean keyboard working on your phone? It's something I'd love to have on mine
It is a aosp port by vllwp on the Google play store. Just called jelly bean keyboard.

this is based on SecMms.apk of XXDLIB JellyBean!
To make it work I modified the parser to server the new smiley sets(427 emojis) whit the correct encoding...

No settings changed.
Looks like pic 1 as you type (black and white emoji) and displays as colour emoji pic2 (same receiving)

I've been searching for the theme chooser for hours, and I can't find it any where to install alloy UI theme. I saw that gawbreakz has installed it on his phone, so anybody can plz help me to do this ? Thanks in advance !
That is used in cyanogenmod only. Theme choosers are not available in stock roms. The only way to do that is to decompile the theme apk and put the themed files into the framework res and system ui. This is very tedious and you require to be well known in apktool

You must be in a Cyanogenmod or AOKP rom for using themes. Then just search in market for CM10 themes

I have installed a stable version of Cyanogenmod (version 9) i believe, will the same themes work there aswell?

Give it a try to CM10.1 its awesome and is the last version of Android.
And try these themes: https://play.google.com/store/search?q=cm10.1+theme&c=apps I personaly recomend TouchWiz one is awesome.
I thought the themes author had to make a version specifically for tablets? I downloaded a few themes and only a couple worked...due to those themes having tab support.

change the dpi to 159 using suitable density changer...thereafter themes will work perfectly!

You could also use a launcher like nova, apex, etc from google play and browse themes for it.

Why don't you try LCD changer. Set density to 130 . apply theme and revert back to your original density . needs 2 reboot. But works great.

That was a statement I made when I thought all themes did was change the icons, because at that point all the theme chooser themes I tried only did. But on THAT track, yes, there are tons of themes that will work with nova, they just won't theme ones ui.

I do not have my gtab anymore, but I was able to get winterboard going, but I wasn't sure what themes, if any, that it uses .u

it installs but doesnt apply themes going to apply it again now wish me luck
which all themes work in tab 2 3100
crystal 2 is the only theme working in tab 2 3100 .. rest all are giving crap msgs like theme not compiled prop ...what to do now suggest some themes so that this crap theme changer works.THEME WAS ONLY REASON TO SWITCH TO CYANOGENMOD 10

To use HDPI-Themes:
open /system/build.prop and change
Code:
ro.sf.lcd_density=160
to
Code:
ro.sf.lcd_density=150
safe it an reboot the device.
Apply the theme, (install it even if it says its not compatible)
Now open the buil.prop again and change
Code:
ro.sf.lcd_density=150
back to
Code:
ro.sf.lcd_density=160
Reboot again and enjoy the new theme
For changein the build.prop you can also look in the playstore for an build.prop-Editor

Hello everybody,
first of all i want to apologize for asking for it. But i definately can not do it myself.
I´m just looking for an .apk theme for stock Optimus UI which replaces the app drawer icon with the stock nexus style one,
cause i don´t like the default ones. That´s eveything i need, all the other desktop icons can be changed via Optimus UI launcher.
So if anyone has the same interest and likes to do something like this i would be more than happy.

There is an app in lg smart world by it you can download themes for the stock launcher , made by lg .
I don't remember the name maybe "theme box" or something like that

I replaced few icons from LG_Biz theme, root needed cause you have to replace system app.
12 icons replaced.

Are you rooted? If yes, just copy and replace original file via es file explorer or total commander to /system/app
If you're not rooted then you can't install it.

Yeah i know, but unless i am not rooted i can not use widget drawer to place widgets on homescreen. It will be possible when we get jelly update till end of march (i hope/want to believe). But i really favour stock launcher so i think about root and have a try with this custon biz theme.

Well, not entirely true, you can still use the Widget drawer, cept it's going to be the Gingerbread style one. But yes, in order to have a true stock ICS or JB experience I guess we have to wait till LG updates roll out.
If you don't wanna root. I sure don't. Not yet atleast.

There was a theme patch in the CM10 thread
Every theme I've installed, when I tap on "apply" says "This theme was improperly..." and I can't apply it.
I've tried to apply system theme, then reboot, apply another theme and reboot again, but it doesn't work

Scour the CM10 thread for the theme patch, flash it and then apply the theme, should fix your problem bro

There is a simple fix that I have tested myself. Change the DPI of your phone using LCD Changer Pro (set DPI from 160 to 140) EVERY theme will now work!!!!!

Well my theme works if you download buildprop editor and change the dpi to 120, apply it, set the theme, reboot again and just turn the dpi back to 160
I only need yo put it at 140 then revert after applying

I don't really know
But I think it depends on theme...If theme supports both launchers(trebuchet and nova) It should work with both....
But most of the themes on playstore support apex, nova, and Go laucher

Search CM10 themes in playstore
There are plenty..Even theme used in Darkbreed roms
Download and install whichever theme you like
Then Go in settings>themes
Or for any other launcher like nova just search Nova launcher themes
I installed a touchwiz theme. it seems to be working with nova launcher too! will try more later.
The name of the theme used in darkbreed is called crystal 2. But it has been further heavily modified by the rom maker. Really great rom. :thumbup:

Just search play store for CM 10 themes.
Once it is downloaded, go to settings, theme and select theme of your choice. Then reboot
But before that, download and flash this in recovery..

Try using LCD density modder.apk
List on Google play
And change into 145
Reboot and it will work
