It's possible.but you would need to modify the camera apk and do some major code changes...as in add in completely new code...it requires new xml coding and smali coding...while I'm ok with xml edits...smali is just a mess...no one likes smali

ok i really like the NEW CyanogenMod-6 RC1. only thing i did not like was the camera and the 2d/3d album thing(took forever to load and was sluggish. So i pushed the HTCCAMERA.apk to the system/apps folder. i know it was there as i tried to install it from there but it was unsuccessful.
Is there a way to instal the HTCCamera.apk/HTCAlbum.apk into the ROM? i have looked into it already and tried the PUSH thing but it didnt work...MAYBE I DID I WRONG??
ALSO would i need to remove the camera/3d album that it has installed on it?
Since cm6 is aosp you can't load htc sense software on it. Sorry

Are you sure? Ic3Rom was Sense-less, but it had the HTC Camera included in it. Is that because it was still based on Damage and not fully AOSP?

Yes. It was still a Sense rom, just with an AOSP look.
Icerom had sense frameworks which HTC camera needs, whereas CM6 uses AOSP frameworks.

I love the camera in cm6, lots more options? What don't you like? I kind of miss the touch to focus, but I just hold the trackball down and focus on the object I want, then move the phone till the object is where I want in the frame and let go of the track ball to take the pic. Not as cool, but it works

If you are missing all that just install stona175 Rom sense 4.1. all widgets from HTC one is there because they have been resized to fit in. Only big bug is speaker muting when getting a text while on call. Can be fixed by using loadspeaker on and off

I'm working on a theme for a different device and have got mist ICS layouts in place. This is a rooted 2.3.4 rom from zte. I've but one piece left to figure out and that's how to get the "X" where the clear button is in the notification dropdown. The res folder in the SystemUI.apk has button png's but the xmls seem to be calling the button images from the framework-res.apk instead of there. Anyway I'm looking for some guidance to get the "X" button in place and for the SystemUI.apk to call the images from its own drawables folder. Thanks in advance.

Will It have the screen swipe screenshot function like galaxy s3? The only thing I am really going to miss once I depart from gs3....hopefully htc one will have similar shortcut to screenshot. I hated pressing home and power button together to take a screenshot. Do htx one x variants have any shortcuts?

On One X there are various options to take a screenshot:
Power+Home, Power+Vol- and some others, depending on the ROM u r using.
+ there are many Screenshot-Apps in PlayStore, think u´ll find the way u prefer

That's a good question! I have one similar about screen shots. Now you said that on the ONE X that was a feature on the custom roms, but was it a feature out of the box on the stock rom, and if yes do you think it will be a feature that will be out of the box with the ONE.
Dont know, which way to take screenshots will be provided by HTC, we will see...

Exactly same here if u find screen**** method let me know by pm
Thanks

No you can't, but check out lmt launcher on XDA. It works very nicely. Gives you customizable Pie controls. Requires root I belive...
Anyone that have tested "Softkey Enabler" in Google Play Store? You need root, but it's just to install it no need for tweaking.
Or will this be possible on our HTC One aswell? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fie9TBOyE4U

But why doesn't softkeys work on either sense or google edition? And what's the difference between aosp and the two others that make it impossible?

I'm not sure if it's the same case as the S4, but it seems that HTC removed the softkey coding completely.
Also, I've found that for some reason, buildprop doesn't show the softkeys, it merely changes if the annoying 3 dot option shows up ( i think). You'd need a pure AOSP rom to get the softkeys from my own testing.
But on pure AOSP you're giving up: beats audio on the speakers, makes a huge difference, you might be giving up the IR blaster and finally you'd miss out on the well made HTC apps: TV app, camera app and blinkfeed.
I'm stuck in between, I like softkeys too, but the built in apps in sense are great.
Nvrmind
This works. I've tried it on mine. Edit the build.prop by adding this line anywhere.
qemu.hw.mainkeys=0
