Accidentally Formatted Internal SDCARD. Won't mount. - Galaxy Tab Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

It happened when I plugged my tab and my USB drive when I was trying to burn Windows 8 on my flash drive, but I accidentally selected my tab then the files inside were erased and formatted. Now It can't be mounted. Anybody knows what's the best solution to do?

Erm best bet hope your warranty is not out and have the company fix it or give you a new one. Sorry to hear such a thing happen but as far as I know, this has never happened before to anyone on here so yeah bring it to manufacturer

Restock with pit file again, you lost all your data though (already)
And, if that doesn't work, install overcome ROM 4.1.
Someone told me the internal sd only got reformatted during the Overcome ROM install, not during the Odin restock or Overcome kernel flashing.
I said that because I have been doing restocking and each time my internal sd was intact.

1. Do you have recovery? If so is it custom? 2. Have you tried Odin or Heimdall?
If you can still reach a downloading screen you're in luck. If you have cwm then could try a rom that has a cwm zip... try the cwm first. If you dont have it then you would have to use odin or heimdall to flash it. If you dont have either then... well im fairly sure you are hosed.

Hi guys.. so much thank you for all your help. ODIN cannot read my tab, only my ADB can read my tab. I am downloading heimdal and gonna try it with heimdal. I also can go to recovery mode. what I am trying to do now is put any custom ROM in my external sdcard then try to flash it there. but gonna download some ROM first..

I successfully restocked it. but now when I try to mount it. it says
Blank USB storage blank or has unsupported filesystem
Gonna flash Overcome ROM right now. please help me guys.

Installed overcome. still my Internal SD Card cannot be mounted. still saying Blank USB Drive. any help guys?

Got it fixed!
So much much THANK YOU with all you guys. I got it working now.
I flashed stock rom with heimdal
flashed overcome kernel
flashed overcome ROM
ticked the Blank USB notifcation and attempted me to format the drive.
then VOILA!!
thank you very much again guys. sorry for the duplicates though.

Glad you got it working. Wish I could say the same for mine, but that's a different story.

[Solved] Recovery 5.0.2.6 samurai..........

Ive got a stock 2.2? froyo captivate and did the new [Guide] How To flash Captivate ROMs from Stock by TRusselo and when i go into recovery i cant access external sd. I put the latest nightly and gapps on the root of sd card and for some reason I cant see it? I did a clean wipe and everything. Is there something wrong that I'm doing. I've mounted everything and still nothing.
Read the instructions again INTERNAL SD not EXTERNAL and you can access it, browse sdcard to /external_sd folder, it takes you to your external sd.
you mounted what? why? dont.
BUT YOU CANT FLASH FROM EXTERNAL SD!!!!
thats why the instructions say INTERAL SD
So instead of downloading through the browser.....I'd like to move the new nightly and gapps on internal memory with a pc transfer....where would i put it in? so that CWM can see it? Thxs man. I appreciate it. noober here. htc aria was a breeze to root and flash custom roms, I'm not use to this puppy.
ANYWHERE internal sd in the root, or any folder (except external_sd)
what browser are you using? the stock brower downloads to sdcard/downloads not sdcard/external_sd/*whatever*
if you downloaded with stock browser it should be there... not in root. unless you moved it after.
Thanks so much..... I found the files I needed but when I try to flash nightly it gives me this craziness....what's going on! Thxs for the help though.
edit: Did a factory one click by odin.
seems like an error with the zip file. try a nightly from a day or two before.
The build prop doesn't match the built asserts in the Zip, they have to match for it to flash... what ROM are you currently on?

that would make scene by the error. hmm he said he went to stock odin one click...

Maybe he just did that...

So I did the one click to revert back to stock. Then I did a one click root and now have SU. 10 hours later and a freakin home made jig that I've made i'm still on 2.1 with root. Please for the love of God I'd like to install current nightly of cm7 and CWM. There are soooooo many ways I've read to install. Now from you pro's can you hook me up with some links or direction to get this going. I've literally killed my Saturday reading my a$$ off. Thanks guys for replying to my lame noobness.

Just clear ROM managers data and then flash the original Captivate CWM not MTD and the reboot into recovery... reinstall packages 2 times, and flash in CWM
Sent from my I897 using xda premium
Thanks for the fast reply. I bought ROM manager premium and will try it out. Install twice I guess to be on the safe side right? Thanks again. My wife hates my life right now being i've spent all day doing this. So i'm down to try anything on her cappy at this point.
Not "to be on the safe side"...the first time you choose reinstall packages in stock recovery it'll boot back into stock recovery, then reinstall packages again and it'll boot into cwm.
yeah thats a must do.
So i've cleared cache and selecting captivate recovery galaxy s 2.5.1.x booted into recovery ROM manger and did reinstall twice and got this.......I don't understand why i'm getting this.
Edit: I got it to work! I kept trying to go through the recovery from ROM manager after installing and it hung up a couple times. Then when selecting install packages with which I did it twice...it was in cwm 2.5.1.7. Installed nightly after full wipe a couple times and it boot looped. Then if I remember correctly I pulled battery booting into recovery, the 3 button way. it booted into Cwm 5.x.x.x. What the heck!!! That was a fun ride, why did it do this? Anyways, glad to join your guys community. you guys are awesome. Thanks buttons hit. changing first post and thread to.....solved.
When you flashed the nightly it contained a kernel with cwm 5 baked into it.
from what i have heard sometimes the cm install needs to be done twice.. too. i dunno dont mess with cm7
Sorry

Go in the Dev section (stickies) and get Odin KK4 without bootloaders. Flash it in download mode.
From there, Get Corn kernel, which you'll flash with Odin 1.85 and finally, you can get back to your ROM.

Just download the required Files in your Laptop, use CWM> mounts and storage> copy files to your SD card and flash
Install kies and adb. That will ensure that you have all the drivers. Just make sure that kies is not running when you want yo use odin.

[Q] Error After Installing CWM Recovery on Galaxy Tab

Hi everyone,
I tried installing ClockworkMod from my stock Gingerbread Galaxy Tab. Now, I can enter recovery mode and download mode, but I cannot get past the boot screen. The reason I tried installing this in the first place was because I was told it was necessary before I could install CyanogenMod 10, which is my ideal end result.
If anyone knows the best way for me to move forward, I would really appreciate any help.
Thanks!
you don't need to get past the boot screen
just put CM10 and gapps in sdcard
boot to recovery and flash the ROM
(may need multiple flashes) then flash gapps.

Thanks for the help, that's really great news. However I dont own a Mini SD card at the moment; is this absolutely necessary to move forward with the installation, or can I use the tablet's internal memory?
It is Micro SD actually.
Well, I guess you could have placed it in your internal SD before you did all this.
There is a way to mount the sdcard in recovery and use adb command to push.
But I don't supposed you are familiar with adb?
Another option is to forget everything now and restock from scratch.
What model is your tab?

The model is GT P1000M, but unfortunately I'm not familiar with adb. Would you recommend me just starting from scratch at this point? Or I could just buy the Micro SD card tomorrow, because I'll probably want one anyways for storage.
Ok, the M is the canadian version.
But it is like a regular P1000
It is good to have an sd card, so if you already plan to do so, then go ahead and do that, then we see how it goes.
At worst, if it didn't work out, as long as you can boot to download mode and Odin detects your tab, you are good to restock.
If that is needed, the Overcome method can be found at my signature.
More of that later if needed.

Hey priyana, so I bought the micro SD card, placed CM 10 and Google apps in zip format on it, Inserted it inside the tab and proceeded with installation (wipe data factory reset, wipe cache, wipe dalvick cache, installed the CM 10 from zip and now it is giving me an error (status 7) and aborted the installation. What do you think I should do now?
Edit: if it helps, the file I used was cm-10-20120829-EXPERIMENTAL-p1-PREVIEW.zip, (144 MB)
Edit2: tried using the latest version of Sapir Cyanogenmod and still no luck, so I'm assuming there must be a deeper issue than the file
you need to to edit the updater script to remove the assert.
But if you are not that comfortable with that, use overcome method in my signature.
And please DON'T use the cm10 experimental.
There are many nightly , why did you land on such an outdated copy.
I suggest you go
http://get.cm/?device=p1
and get gapps for CM 10.0.x
http://goo.im/gapps
and restock using overcome method, start from page 7 of PDF
Okay thank you again for all your help so far. I'm trying to proceed with the Overcome method, and on page 8 it says it is important to pick a version based on what type of tablet you have (AT&T, T-mobile, Tel-Cal, etc.) except as you know, mine is a Bell Canada tablet which is not listed. Should I assume that Bell is equivalent to AT&T?
I think so.
If not mistaken, Bell and Rogers uses the same UMTS 850MHz for 3G like AT&T ?
You can change modem later.
And if you don't use data, it matter even less.

Okay! I think I'm on the right track now hanks to your guidance . Followed your overcome guide and installed it flawlessly! However I tried to install the latest CM version you posted and the gapps, but now it seems to go straight to Recovery Mode after the boot screen whenever I try to turn it on. Any suggestions as to how to proceed? Thanks again by the way you've been such an amazing help.
Normal.
From stock to cm you need to flash a few times.
First round converts partition from bml scheme to mtd, second round the ROM itself.
Could be more times. Maybe first round only install newer cwm.

[Q] Internal USB formatted on Mac - now unable to boot/mount etc

Hi
Can someone kindly help me here please. I'm fairly new to flashing custom ROMs and was eager to try out the Ultimate 4.1.2 Jelly Bean ROM I found here on XDA. I installed and setup the ROM no problem. However, was unable to format the Internal SD for Settings - Storage. I really wanted to start with a new, clean system so I (stupidly) connected the Note to my Mac via USB Mass Storage Mode, and formatted the Internal SD Card using Disk Utility.
Now I am unable to use the Note. However, I am able to boot into CWM 6xxxxxx. Under Mounts/StorageI have managed to mount the Internal SD, I can copy files onto it from my Mac and format using Disk Utility. But I am unable to get the device up and running again. As I get messages in CWM saying can't mount SD, and similar.
I do have some Nandroid backups on my Mac and copied these across to the SD Card using CWM Mounts and Storage. However, as I get the message can't mount SD card, I am unable to restore the system.
Please help someone. I love my Note and want her back.
Thank you in anticipation.
What format did / does your mac format in ? It needs to be FAT32, try reformatting it in recovery
Also, the error mounting sd card, is this internal or external ? I get this error a lot but i can still flash from both cards.

Hi - I flashed the UK Stock Rom successfully and the internal SD is there and fine. Thank you so much for your help - I've learned so much. One final question, the phone rebooted automatically after the flash, at this point it was still connected to the PC with a USB cable and Odin was open. On the phone I saw a message saying MTP syncronizing. I then quit Odin and unplugged the USB cable. Can I confirm that this will not harm the newly installed ROM on the phone?
Thank you again for your help and guidance
That's normal. Phone boots automatically because auto reboot is checked in odin. You have a perfectly working phone now ciao

[Q] How to access sd card through recovery

Can you please help me on this one? Yesterday i updated my nightly cm11 to the newest version. I didn't backup any of my data. It booted normally and i tried to restore my old Android-ID via Titanium, but suddenly my phone restarted and after retrying to restore the ID again, it didn't work and it said, it couldn't find any old ID in the setting storage. I remembered that i have some older Titanium Backups on my laptop and after it failed again with the new added backups, i tried to restore the whole setting storage in apps list in Titanium. At first, it didn't showed any effect so i tried to reboot it and now i'm stucked on a loop. I can't flash the rom, because i deleted the rom from my sd card to get more storage.
TL; DR: How can you get access on your sd by using recovery? If i plug my phone via usb, it shows me my 2 sd cards, but i can't open them. (when i mount usb storage, the 2 sd cards on my laptop just disappear)

Since it was getting worse and worse (i tried to apply an old cm10 backup via cm), i wasn't even able to get into recovery mode. I flashed stock kk4 with odin but now it won't let me get to usb storage: Seconds after i plug my phonevia usb just to load or to load sth on my sd card, my phone shuts down and the green loading bar appears until a new reboot starts into the green bar etc...
Is this a common bug? I searched in the forums, but couldn't find this kind of.
I guess i have some weird mount/unmount problems since i even wasn't able to get into mass storage via recovery beforehand when i had the bootloop. And the strange thing now is, that odin didn't formatted my sd card (i still got my music and stuff)

I doubt it will make a difference but you'll have to flash corn kernel using Odin. From there, follow the full rom instructions. there's also a flashing guide in the stickies.

Flashing corn kernel 7.05 made me stuck at the corn logo screen, couldn't even get into cwm. Now i got back to kk4 with odin. Should i give it another shot or should i try superoneclick?

You don't have to use superoneclick.
I'd suggest you try speedmod kernel then and boot directly in recovery.

I was able to get into recovery with speedmod kernel, but a normal boot wasn't possible, just stucked at the galaxy s screen. After root and a full wipe, i couldn't flash a rom (cm11) due getting status 0 error.
Ok i flashed cm9 and this one is completely fine. No more usb issues also. I flashed cm11 and it seems fine. I hope it will stay that way. Thank you very much for caring.
I have one more question. One thing that is very frustrating is to lose all your customized data and settings with flashing. Since messing around with titanium lead me to this problem i want to know what's your favorite backup tool? Will a normal backup via recovery save ur apps and settings?

You can restore your apps data with titanium, just don't restore system apps.
