Have you tried flashing a nandroid backup, one before any password was set.

Dont have one . Any other ideas?

Not sure but I believe if try to sign in half a dozen times or so it will allow to assign a new password.

But on another note IF YOU TOOK THE TIME TO SEARCH you would find that there are a couple of ways around the security features BUT you have to know how to use adb commands

do a backup in cwm recovery backup. then do a cwm factory reset, then in the fresh new clean cm9 use an app that will allow you to extract apps and data from the recovery. i use the app manager that came with rom toolbox pro. but its a paid for app i dont know if the lite version has that feature. but if you dont have rom toolbox pro you should. the app manager will let you restore any app, app+data or just data from the apps in your cwm backup. problem solved.

this is something I wrote for the lock pattern, but it will apply to any other lock method

3G isnt working

Out of nowhere 3g data has stopped working..the icons in the statusbar change but i can't use it in any way.

Try checking your access point.
If you have multiple access point, make sure the right one is selected.
I only have one access point to choose from..
And still not working
Thanks anyway

Well... on the worst scenario, you could root your phone, install Rom manager, and flash a custom ROM like Nova v8 to see if it works. Then, if it works, you can flash again to Lg stock ROM and remove both superuser and Rom manager. This process is not my responsibility and will delete all your data first, so please back it up before proceeding. This has, however, worked for me pretty well.

i already had my phone rooted.
I just remembered that i had made a backup of the rom a couple of weeks ago. Restored it and everything is fine again.
Thank you!
Glad to hear that, flashing ROMS also fixed my problems in the past xD

[Q] Galaxy S Messaging app missing

I was using Titanium Backup Pro and was integrating updates into system apps and i lost my messaging app. Titanium backup says it is still installed but i cant open it and i cant uninstall it either.
I'm currently getting by with Handcent but i want my stock app back.
Can anyone help me get my messaging app back or do i have to stick with Handcent?
Any help is appreciated.
I'm using a Rooted Samsung Galaxy S GT-I1900M
Android Version 2.2
Rooted with Superuser
(hope all this stuff helps)
Only thing I think of is flash a new rom or reflash the one your using and your messaging app should show up

I would have tried that but i'm scared ill brick my phone. i have bad luck when it comes to doing things like this. i pink screened my iPod once.
Download a custom ROM, download "File Manager HD" from Market, enable root access in the settings and push Mms.apk from Custom ROM Zip into system/app

If i do that will I lose any of the data on the internal SD? I was thinking of doing factory reset but I'd lose all the stuff on my internal SD
Sent from my GT-I9000M using xda app-developers app
Factory reset only deletes the apps, system and accounts. If you are still on Froyo, I'd recommend you to flash a Gingerbread ROM, or even an ICS one. You can backup your apps with some file managers too, but you'll lose all user data from them.
But as long as you don't wipe "sdcard" you'll keep all your music, photos and documents stores on your internal memory, even after dozens of flashes.

Do you think you could help me through the flashing process? Or send me a link to a guide I could use

Wife's galaxy s

Hi my wife's galaxy s has started turning the screen on at random..and continuously sometimes. This as we know will start ruining the battery.I've had many issues with her ics. For some reason since installing a kernel. It messed it all up somehow the remains of the boot image or kernel etc is still onboard thankfully I still can boot her. Can't apply custom roms at all. I can send an official rom from the PC but that's it. I managed to get gb on. Its started randomly turning the screen on. Fairly certain its not the rom she's had it since last year
Any ideas? Is there anyway to totally strip the phone of virtually everything to the core and start against

If you think its a kernel issue you could run a kernel cleaner script then reflash, but my sgs did this when it got water damage almost exactly as your described
Sent from my GT-I9000 running remICS-UX using XDA premium
Thanks for the reply do you know where the kernel script is?

Do a nandroid backup. Then copy necessary files to SD card (rom, kernel, modem, whatever.)
Then format /system and do a factory reset. Then do a fresh install of your kernel and rom.
Then in cwm go to backup and restore, advanced restore, and restore her data!
Then your phone is fresh .

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1166954 here you go read the guide and flash it , I seriously doubt the other suggestion will work as the nandroid backup restores it to exactly how it was before I mean like if your wifi was left on it will be on after you restore exact, so what ever bug is doing this will almost defiantly restore aswell
Sent from my GT-I9000 running remICS-UX using XDA premium
It will work we are just saving data like settings and apps.
Sent from my GT-I9000 using xda app-developers app
Ill just back up apps. And SMS etc that's it. Need a new rom anyway

It backs all the system apps up aswell and every single thing so if there is a bug it will restore that aswell... your better off just redownloading the Alps from play market after and using a sms backup app if you want a clean install

[Q] Unable to use Spen to draw in Snote

Hi all,
I'm using stock ROM, rooted. Removed a couple of apps with titanium Backup and installed S Voice.
This problem did not occur before rooting.
I have a problem where when i try to draw something in SNote using the Spen, it is unable to draw. But if I use the Handwriting to Text mode
I am able to get the text written, but I can't see what I am writing.
The Spen works fine when drawing using the photo editor or using the SMemo. Only in the SNote I am unable to draw.
Anyone know how I can get the SNote app to work properly again?
did u try reinstalling snote... backup from TB and then restore

I just tried still doesn't work
There's a calibration tool that can help, believe it's expensive beyond trial release but there seem to be no alternatives.

I finally found the problem. The S-Voice app required me to modifying the following in the /system/build.prop file:
ro.product.model=GT-I9300
ro.product.device=GT-I9300
Changing this back to the original values fixed it. But means I can't use the S-Voice app.
Thanks all for helping
so u changed it back to n7000?
How did it change at the first place?

Using Titanium Backup in another user

I wonder if there anyway to use titanium backup on another user (multiuser on 4.2)? I want to used my whatsapp on other user but... I can't get it work... I try to install it directly... But i can't get it work either...
Cause it refuses to read device_id file... Access denied even though i change the permission on the file already...
I used it on my primary user without problem... Cause i can just restore it using titanium backup....
Any advice? Thanks...

I don't think it's possible to gain root access in the additional user accounts. Not yet anyway.
The author is working on multi user backups (according to the play store link/info from the last update). It's gong to take them a little time.
Yeah... i read that also... hopefully it'll work soon... i need root to deactivate some apps from the rom too...
Sent from my Nexus 7 using xda app-developers app
I thought copy the data files from the primary user to secondary user will make it work.... but it didn't work that way... or i might make a mistake somewhere else...
