Hello Forum,
i'm using darktremor A2SD, but i noticed, that it didn't work anymore since the last wipe. I wanted to format my sd so performed a "rebuild and move dalvik cache to internal storage".
The phone restarted, showing 15 min long the "galaxy ace" title and then turns off the display. I removed the SD-card, restartet the device but still the same.
Any suggestions?
There's one catch .. the home button is broken, so i can't enter the downloading mode
Try restarting a couple of times, waiting ~3 minutes before each restart. I remember it took around 5 restarts once for me (simple dalvik wipe).
Anyway, if that doesn't work, just flash stock ROM using ODIN. (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1225493)
EDIT: Oh, right. You can't. Well, try the usb jib method.
just ordered a jig
what's the most stable all-day-rom, with darktremor or something similar?

Today I found my Bell Vibrant (GT-i9000M) with a blank screen and lit up buttons. I had not done anything other than root and lag fix a few weeks ago. Holding the power button brought up the menu to power off but it locked up when I selected power off. I had to pull the battery. Now every time it starts up it sits at the Galaxy S screen for a long time then goes to a blank screen and nothing happens except the buttons light up when I touch it.
I want to know if there is a way to get my data off the internal SD. I have some pictures on there that I do not want to lose. I fear my only option is to wipe the device and factory reset it.
Some help and advice would be greatly appreciated. I have spent the last three hours searching for a solution but I haven't found anything that might work without wiping my data.
Thanks
the data must go if you want to get your phone back
there is no way to repair the phone without losing data
Well the factory reset worked. At least it booted up anyway. I wonder what happened to my phone. It was fine and then I left it on my desk for maybe 20 minutes and all the sudden it is broken. :/
I have the same issue. How do i factory reset from here?

Reflashing / Resetting Factory Defaults etc. do NOT touch your Internal SD.
Guys i got the same prob, did factory reset and the problem still remains...what can i do???Black screen, some vibraton, and the buttons lit,but nothing else.Any advices plz??
You all may be suffering from a corrupted /system partition because of the lagfix applied. Read up on http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=9365294#post9365294 to see if that applies.
These are too complicated for me....i tried to do the lagfix, but it had loopback error,so i guessed it didnt do it.I rebooted my phone just to clear the memmory and play a game or something, and never got on again...just stays there vibrating. So i did factory reset and still nothiing.
I have similar problem. i9000 samsung screen appears, then goes blank, and appears again continuous cycle until battery is removed. Animated logo doesn't even start. I cannot seem to enter recovery mode. I can enter download mode (dwn vol, home, and power) and I tried to USB to my computer in download mode to try and pull the pictures off with ADB, but ADB doesn't seem to see the device connected in download mode. Is Odin my next option? Or does that only work with unlocked phones. I was on stock 2.2 that Kies updated for me.
Pleeeeaaase help. My children opening christmas gifts are on the phone and once i get the videos I can just send it off to Bell for full replacement. They have told me that once it gets sent out for repair my pictures will be gone.
boot-loop after flashing CM10 for galaxy s plus
the screen says cwm-based recovery v5.5.0.4
-reboot system now
-install zip from sdcard
-wipe data/factory reset
-wipe cache partition
-backup and restore
-mounts and storage
-advanced
after install gaspp and CM10 and thenreboot system now.... Im stuck here .... please help!!!!!
Before I startת I tried to find this problem also search on Google and here but could not find any information about this problem.
This night I did not put the device to a charger because he had already 90% battery, so I left it disconnected,in the morning I got up I saw the phone is turn off, I tried to turn the phone light up and the ATT screen turn on,
I went and when I came back after 10 minutes I saw that the phone is still stuck on the "Galaxy S" screen.
I removed battery, changed, and it's still stuck.
I'm running version CM7.1,
The phone can get into the recovery menu.
Can anyone help me?
I do not understand in the android system and I don't have any backups of my pictuers...
Any chance to save the phone?
update: I search for a solution, and found on the CWM the option of "Mount USB storage" and I copied my pictures to my computer...
so now my new question is how can I get the phone to turn on again? only format and install new rom?
I can use CM7.2 zip file and install via the recovery menu?
you can go to cwmr and can do a data wipe which will uninstall all your apps and data but will not touch your sdcards
You won't lose your pictures on the sd card. If you are still stuck, try wiping dalvik cache from recovery

I have a similar problem. Like eidoll32, I did not plug in my cappy and when I went to turn it on the next day, I was only able to get a boot loop at the AT&T screen. Currently, I cannot get into recovery, but only download mode.
I originally rooted the phone with the Galaxy_One_Click_Root tool, and installed CyanogenMod 7.1 for the captivate, when CM7.2 went to RC1, I flashed that from CWM, doing a full wipe. Later I wanted to try ICS, so I flashed AOKP - captivatemtd - M5 b30, doing a full wipe (twice).
That's where I was when this happened, and where I am now.
Ok since I couldn't find a topic for my specific model (Samsung Galaxy S GT-I9010 Giorgio Armani) I tought this was the best place to put this thread.
Let me start by saying I never messed around with my phone , I preformed 1 firmware-upgrade with samsung kies but I never installed custom ROM's or anything like that.
Now yesterday I found my phone stuck in a bootloop , I got out of it a couple of times and could boot my phone again but after a hour or less my phone restarted and got back in bootloop. Now I can't even get in again , not even for a small period of time.
I can get in download mode and I also got into recovery mode twice (This doesnt work every time , most of the time he doesnt get to "update media , please wait").What I alread tried is wipe data/factory reset but after that my phone just keeps bootlooping.
What do I need to do to get it out of this bootloop ?

First remove battery, remove sim card and ext SD card, press power button for a min and than reinsert Battery and power on...IF it still bootloops, try 3 button combo for recovery mode
wipe cache, wipe data/factory reset and go into advanced and wipe dalvik cache too. Reboot, If still bootloops
you need to flash a i9010 ROM, http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1233620 or CWM http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=948424
My phone has been running cyanogen mod 9 for quite a long time and about two days ago it was giving me a low on space problem (RAM as both internal and external memory are more than 60% free)
So I stoped some background apps to clear the memory and gave the phone a restart. Now it is stuck in the boot screen :S I have already tried taking the battrey off and restarting the phone but still it gets to the boot screen and never loads :S
How can I fix this without flashing a new ROM as I have not backed up anything :S
Thanks
Well although I have not the galaxy s, what I would do:
1. Remove the microSD and SIM, turn it on to see if it boots.
2. If not start, go into recovery mode - Wipe cache partition and dalvik cache (not the wipe data factory reset, because you lose all) - then fix permissions.
3. If not start, reinstall the kernel compatible.
4. Crossing fingers

Remove your battery and try combo again while putting your battery back.
(you must release combo about 1 second after Galaxy S appears on the screen)

have u tried installing the bootloader using ODIN? try that and then try installing TWRP or clockworkmod recovery.. i think it should solve the problem of getting your phone up.. once the recovery is setup you can install any other rom..

check out My Android Solutions for solutions to your problems
so long as you can go into download mode, you can flash a semaphore kernel or a ROM from My Android Collections to solve it
But First powerdown, pull out Battery, SIM CARD, and EXT.SD card, press power button for a minute, than powerup without SIM and Ext.SD Card....Do remember to backup your contacts, data, images etc and also your EFS folder before flashing a ROM and make sure you have more than 50% battery charge before you attempt any sort of flashing.
Ok so I'm pretty sure my phone is done for, but I thought I'd see if anyone knew a solution before I go buy a new phone
Yesterday I dropped my phone (which was running Slimbean), but I popped the battery back in and it worked fine. Then about three hours later, it randomly shut off while I was using it, then started going into a bootloop. Occasionally it will start up all the way, but I'm lucky if its on for 10 minutes before turns back off and starts bootlooping again. I got it to boot into CWM, (the first time it shut off while I was in CWM) and wiped everything and reflashed Slimbeam, but it didn't change anything. Any ideas?
Go back in and do wipes on everything but external drive reflash wipe cache + dalvik cache + fix permissions then boot. Let sit 10 minutes before doing g any setup with Google or phone. This allows all drivers to load and configure prior to having more data to configure.
