Any ideas what is the problem?
Pretty sure it was @Deafcyclist comment that had the version number of the newest version of Fpse that worked with the NST.
My SD card got corrupted and I lost the version of Fpse that worked. Anyone remember or knows the version that works?

I never did mention which version worked. Didn't even try it out yet so I have no idea how to investigate this at the moment. Was planning on doing that around the time I recently lost my NST. So I'm now unable to even test this.

Sorry my bad. I know I found the working version number somewhere on this forum and as your comment was the only one that was deleted I thought it might of been you that posted it.
I've no experience with Ps or the emulator (not really a gamer) but a little poking around reveals that the initial flurry of posts on the subject occurred in Aug-Sep. 2012.
At that time the version of FPSe out was 0.11.25 so that narrows it down a little to that one--or earlier. It's possible, of course, that a somewhat later version might still work. The current PlayStore version claims to function with Android 2.1 and up but Google doesn't think the current app is compatible with the NST.
If I knew how the whole thing was supposed to work I'd try it out, but you might want to start with those older versions first.

Thanks for the info. But the version I had was newer. It downloaded plugins and showed game covers.
The version you posted isn't any better than psx4droid v2 1.1.2 what runs fine on the Nook.
The version I had ran PSX games on the Nook at full speed without any hiccups. psx4droid v2 1.1.2 is fine but very sluggish. The version I had of FPSe ran PSX games at full speed even with all the graphic tweaks turned on.
I am starting to think FPSe won't run because I have got rid of the PlayStore. Pretty sure it calls home to see if you have bought it.
When I was running it before on the Nook I had the PlayStore installed.

I've done all the market hacks and tried all the tricks but im wondering why most of the actual 3d games i want to get to show off the muscle that this great little tegra 2 tablet can flex.
it seems like the games i want on here right now "pocket legend" and "rocket bunnies" don't show up in the market and I was looking forward to "dungeon defenders"
I think there needs to be a big push of actually finding a way to get the full market that my Nexus One gets...
This is mostly why i bought the tablet, and thanks to all the great devs here we've been able to get "almost" everything working (Thanks roebeet, et all)
maybe we can make a nice thread with some different market fingerprints and post market results? (or any other suggestions)
I am currently running the latest Vegantab beta4 fyi.

Well, as the guy who has tried all the market fingerprints and build.prop stuff and wrote the thread on the "full" market fix, I can tell you with some confidence that Pocket Legends and some of the other 3d games are a known issue - I have tried changing every build.prop setting to match that of my Nexus One (which finds those apps with no problem), and there are still a handful of 3d games that will not show up. I have also found that if you change too many of the settings in build.prop, you will eventually bootloop your G Tablet because Android itself gets confused about what it's running on.
You can find my notes on the subject in my posts on my thread in this forum on Full Market Fix.
In summary - the issue seems to be more than just using a different Market Fingerprint. That does not solve the problem, though it may make a few addition or a few less items show up. Right now, by most of my metrics, we have at least 95% of the items in Market showing up.
BTW, I have seen posts stating that the work around for Pocket Legends has been to download directly from their site, though I have not done so myself.
My understanding is that the CyanogenMod ROM for G Tablet does not require the Maket Fix and has no issues with missing items in Market because of the way the ROM image is built. I think the person to ask about this is bekriebel who built CyanogenMod for G Tablet - he can explain the concept of release-keys better than I can and how Market supports it out of the box on the CM ROM.
Unfortunately, it's a bit outside of my time availability right now to work much more on this, having already spent a day or more figuring out what I figured out. But please keep me in the loop if you figure anything else out!
I just thought it would be good to have a good constructive conversation about why else it might not be working... so the build.prop isnt the thing then.
its sad that 3d games are not showing up when this device was built for 3d gaming!
Pocket legends shows up on mine. got it installed...lemme try the other one..
EDIT: Strange they arent showing up anymore. when i was on Cyanogen 6.1 i Had them showing up. then again I didnt have the new market that looks like xbox live. strange...

this is what I'm refering to its so spotty. there is this great drawing app that i purchased that id love to use on the tab called "sketchbook mobile" but its not showing up for me either.
I know there have been lots of people working on it but it would be great if we could somehow compare market search results on some of them to find the best?
also if cyanogenmod has more working downloads is there anyway that the market from cyanogenmod can be rolled into Vegantab?
Dungeon Defenders is amazing its based on the unreal engine and really shows off this hardware.
If we are patient I am sure there will be many amazing games in the future for this CPU/chipset.
I had originally intended to only use the gtab until a good windows7 tab was released but after seeing Dungeon defenders on this system I seriously doubt any windows based tab will be able to come close to this tab for some time and I am sure the cost of a system like that will be much higher.
U need to check out this game to understand what I mean.

Agreed, DD plays perfectly on the gtab. Hopefully this is just the beginning of things to come once Honeycomb is in place and developers start making apps with tablets in mind.
Has anyone gotten the "new" game that just came out called "Spectral Souls" to run on their NookCOlor ?
It is in the market and cost $14.00, but it is supose to be the best SRGP game out yet for the Android. It is BIG ... you download the .apk which is only a few kb's , but then when you install it downloads another 1.5Gigs of game data.
Anyways ... I don't want to pay for this game unless I know it works on the nook. I have heard verying reports. Has anyone tested it yet ?
Thanks
It should. The game support high resolution. I haven't tried it because the game take up 1.5gb of space which can be used for better apps/game. There emulators with RPG games.
NVM, read description,
Could not work & crash on uncertified Google Android devices like Archos Tablet, Nook,...
I kinda asked the same question but it was more about genral gameing on it. The poster above said it wont work on uncertified googl devices but i thought someone posted they are running honeycomb and it runs good.

I use AppBrain website.
I have this game running on my device without any problems. I am running the stock Eclair (Android 2.1) with B&N 1.1.0 firmware (rooted, of course), with 1.1ghz overclock kernel. No problems downloading and installing from the Market. The game downloaded its 1gb data when I first tried to run the game, then worked just fine. It did download its 1gb data chunk again after I rebooted my Nook (for other reasons...unrelated to this game), but my saved game was still there and loaded just fine. I have since rebooted the device again, and this time the game ran fine and did not download the data again.
I have seen reports of some people not being able to play this game on their devices. Not sure if it is a Froyo or Honeycomb issue, but it seems to work well on the stock Eclair.
Don't know if it matters, but I used the pre-rooted, Clockwork flashable B&N 1.1.0 firmware from here when I upgraded from 1.0.1 to 1.1.0:

Awesome game...reminds me of Final Fantasy Tactics on PS1...one of my all-time favorite games...
I'm aware that the game compatibility thread covers emulation.
But I thought I'd make a thread to specifically discuss playstation emulation.
I downloaded psx4droid 3.0.0 from the dev site, but it doesn't work on my Xoom, just closes when I open an iso, and says running in the task bar. But doesn't do anything. If you click on it, it closes.
A google search says that 3.0.1 is available, but their site seems to be down at the moment.
I tried FPse, with changing the settings. It worked. But the set to small screen doesn't stick. Have to reset it each time.
And I can't get the wii controller to work with it.
Anyone have any luck?
Found a download for psx4droid 3.0.1 from an alternate source, because zodttd still seems to be down. And the problem is the same. Assign a bios file, have 2 different ones, and then launch an iso or bin file and the app closes and a message comes up in the task bar at the bottom, if you click on it, it brings you back to iso selection.
Well im glad I'm not the only one.. thought maybe it was a bad game file
Yea, this is going to be hard for zodttd because he even stated himself on his site that he doesn't have the new latest android devices so he is doing the best he can with what he has...which to be honest I am amazed he is even still working on it after it got taken off the market.
Oh, and p.s. his site seems to be back up for now: http://www.zodttd.com/wp/
I use FPSE. In landscape, full screen with screen filtering and the enhanced sound emulation at 0 frameskip I play Mortal kombat mythologies, trilogy, and castlevania symphony of the night at full speed no problem. overclocked 1.5 ghz.
I've also got the same problem with psx4droid. I'm gonna try fpse right now.

All you have to do with FPSE and the screen size issue is tab out and tab right back in. It is a minor bug that the developer will hopefully address soon.
You will only have to do this once when loading the emulator.
Also make sure you have HLE mode disabled if you are intending to use the emulator with a proper BIOS.
FPSE isn't as polished overall as psx4droid, but I have found it to handle games a little better. I couldn't get past the first Quistis cutscene of FF8 with psx4droid but maybe this has been corrected now.
I have both psx4droid(only rom tested was metal gear solid) and fpse working on my xoom. I disabled compatibility in spare parts if that may affect it.
Sent from my Xoom using XDA Premium App
FPse for Android is a really solid Playstation Emulator. Its a paint to get started since the Roms arn't 4MB like N64 and Snes . But once you get through that its very enjoyable.
I also use FPse with the wiimote controller.
Makesure you set the wiimote to the active input keyboard, or it wont work in fpse.
Just checked the site and they've released 3.0.5. It specifically states it's compatible with the Xoom. I installed it and i'm trying it out now.
Yeah...still doesn't work...
fpse doesn't work for me at all...any attempt to disable HLE mode just results in a force close for the next action I attempt, and games won't run with it on either, so I'm kinda stuck. Does this happen to anyone else? I'm running fpse v0.10.39.
Edit: Actually, nevermind. I updated to 10.41 and it's great now, but I can't get that custom overlay working. What am I doing wrong...
Looks like I'm grabbing a classic controller and loading up some metal gear solid for my lunch breaks ha

Yea, version 3 doesn't work on the Xoom. However, psx4droid v2 1.1.2 works flawlessly. Ask Google for help finding it. I'm on disk 3 of Final Fantasy IX

FPSe (latest version) is running pretty smoothly on my Xoom; tested it with Final Fantasy 7, 8 and 9 and I'm getting pretty good performance .
Using 0.10.43 and BIOS scph1001
Streetfighter collection and wipeout running well. Just wish they'd boost the resolution a bit for the new tablets. Or correct me if I'm wrong but this is def lower res than a ps1, isn't it?
Sent from my MZ604 using Tapatalk
i'm not too sure about the resolution. You can turn on graphics filtering but tends to lag the crap out of some games. I think it mostly looks the way it should though. PS1 games were very jaggy, even the sprite based ones.
Maybe it's just a Rose tinted view of the past which is making me remember better graphics in wipeout? Man I must have spent a whole year of uni playing that damn game!!

I just got psx4droid working on my epic on Sunday. Then I switch to nexus and see around that the psx4droid app doesn't work on gingerbread. Upset. I got like 15 games on my phone. Before I download. Does fpse work on gingerbread?
Or is there something else?
Thanks.
Yes FPSE is better than psx4droid and he got very good performance
Sorry for my english
FPSE is much better than psx4droid. Highly recommended.
Psx4droid ran fine on my Nexus running 2.3.3. Just make sure you're downloading the latest version. I actually found it to outperform Fpse out of the box when playing Final Fantasy 7. I guess it really depends on the game.
Well after having some market troubles with the authorizing purchase loop for 3 hours finally got fpse. Works great. Love it.
Psx4droid didn't worm for me on 2.3.4. I thought I had the newest update I dont have it anymore to confirm. I got it straight fom the site.
Psx4droid works fine for me, make sure you're using good bios files, maybe try downloading another bios file and see if that fixes things. Roms run without a quirk as well!
Do you know how to adjust the sensetivity of the controlls? There's no over shoot for the buttons and sometimes it doesn't register the press. Very annoying.
Hello, Acer Iconia tab owner here. Since we don't have 3.2 yet, I was wondering if one of you could please check if Tiger Arcade works now with the new zoom feature...it didn't use to scale correctly. Thanks!
I just tried Tiger GBC playing Final Fantasy Legend and it looks and runs fine.
I'm not running stock 3.2, though. I'm using the 2.0.1 Tiamat ROM.
That's great to hear! Did you even have to use the new zoom feature? For me, 3.1 on the Acer, the window is tiny, games run but are more like phone-sized. Also, what version number of Tiger Arcade was that? Thanks for the info!
or actually, just understood that you said GBC, so gameboy...alright, that's cool to hear as well, but Arcade (Mame) is what was causing my issue. Would you mind testing that?
I don't have Tiger: Arcade. It doesn't seem to be on the market anymore. Do you have apk and a game rom?
Scales great. I have a hard time finding roms that work on it though. The rom that I tested it with was "Mega Twins". All the scaling options worked great. What roms work for you?
That's great to hear! It was an unplayable small screen on 3.1, awesome. What version of Tiger Arcade is that?
For roms, I've used this: http://www.coolrom.com/roms/mame/
I've tried at least a few of the Metal Slugs and 1944, those at least worked good (as far as I could tell from the small screen). It supports gamepad too, so I'm looking forward to hooking this up to a tv and having a portable console =)
Thanks for testing! And ccossin - I couldn't find the site where I downloaded the apk right now, but I should have it bookmarked on my home machine. I can get back to you (or perhaps Mr Bland can say what version and where he got it from).
Edit: Oh yes, for many ROMs you need the "neogeo" rom as well. So that might be causing problems, remember to get that rom too.

Thanks for this.
You know what, I can't find the bookmark (I guess I didn't make one) and I couldn't locate it again although I tried googling a bit. Unless somebody else can point you to the right page for downloading it (they were pulled from the market), I can of course mail you the apk, if you'd like. Just PM me with your address and I'll send the apk over. Or if somebody else has the link for downloading the emulator, please share, it'd probably help others who come to this thread too.

It is version 1.4.4. I bought it from the market before it was removed. I haven't tried Googling it but you could try one of the alternative markets. Slideme, Andappstore, and a couple of others that are actually mostly warez but are good places to check for apps no longer available; Google should be able to help you.
