I have a great deal of respect for them. Seems they are right about a lot of things over the years. I never got into the trappings of religion, and it seems they don't either, like killing each other in war.

Curious, what kind of issues? Frankly, I'd rather live in a neighborhood full of JW's than a neighborhood full of Muslims. It's just that I've never seen JW's cause any real problems for the world, and in law class, we learned that a huge number of freedoms we take for granted are because of Supreme Court rulings they took to the Supreme Court and won. For instance, say you're pissed at the government, and don't feel like saluting the flag one particular day. That used to get you in trouble, just like in Nazi Germany, but no longer. I think on balance, they've been a plus for society, even though annoying at times. I'd sure rather trust one of them with taking care of my house while I'm on vacation than a lot of my long-time "friends".

Mainly theological issues. They have a very control based rule system in their religion which I don't like. Like any religion people at the top get away with practically anything while the lowly JW's are brow beat for just watching the wrong kind of movie.
However I think the whole ,"they are morally better" is true and false. They have the same problems like anyone else. Child molestation and covering it up was a major problem as well as petty theft amongst the dubs. However I agree I would prefer to have some in my neighborhood as they are generally good people.

With no offense intended towards your parents, I hate Jehovah's Witnesses purely because they don't go away. I've had a Jehovah's Witness at my door, as is typical, trying to preach to me about what's right, so I told him to go away and shut the door. Half an hour later he was still there, ringing my doorbell non stop. If you believe in something that's fine, but keep it to yourself. These words not intended to "you" in particular of course, but the day I start telling people how to live their lives and what to believe in is the day I start changing my ways for those people who tell me the same. Whether you're Muslim, Jewish, Christian, or anything in between, live your life and let other people live theirs.

Easy way to stop the JW's at your door:
1.Notify them that you do not want them ever coming back or you will call the police.
2.Tell them to write down your address and what you said on the paper they carry around marking houses.
3.Tell them you are going to call the Kingdom Hall and speak to an elder and inform them to be put on the "do not call" list. Yes many Kingdom Halls actually have these.
Problem solved!

One thing you can count on is that dubs will do everything in their power to either not go to court or to not look bad in the press.

Just want to get a feel for how many people here smoke, not going to get into the whole legal/moral/harmful/harmless debate, just want some numbers.

As for the "gateway drug" idea, I've been smoking pot for like 5 years now (20 years old) and refuse to touch anything else. It's safe, it makes me feel good, why do I need other drugs?
In fact, if you believe commercials, it makes you shoot your friend with your dad's shotgun because you don't know what you're doing, it also makes you jump out of a window and drown in a pool while babysitting. It's amazing how the worst thing I've done while high is pass out, wake up and eat a ton of food... I guess I'm the exception.

This plant has been used since the human is on this planet. Also if you know a little about the human body, there is a "Canabis receptor" in our brain...

a great truth

While I have nothing again using drugs of any kind, including alcohol (my personal favorite), I refuse to use the non-legal type for a simple reason: they would taste & smell like blood. In my country the drug gangs are heavily armed and often fight for control of the distribution points. The problem is that these reckless and ignorant bastards don't just kill themselves, they actually take out a lot of innocent people in the process. I can't conceive giving money, even one cent, to an industry that eventually will kill me at random or those I love. If drugs were free then...

That's a good point, dgaud007. Thankfully, where I'm from, the marijuana is grown by my friends, so I know it's ethical. They're technically criminals I suppose, but they're just regular guys with regular jobs, very nice.

Valid point there, but it seems to me to be an argument for legalization.
Or for home-grown!

The only ppl that want it legalized are the potheads - which would be the reason why they drive to have it legalized. It's more of a intellectual downgrade than a beneficiary.

Really? Michigan just voted 63-37 to have medical marijuana legalized. Are you telling me 63% of Michigan are potheads? Massachusetts voted 65-35 to decriminalize marijuana, so now anything under an ounce is just a $100 fine. Is 65% of the state of Massachusetts potheads? The fact is, people see it's harmless and have no problem decriminalizing or legalizing it, whether they smoke it or not. Please don't bring your biased opinion here when you have no more experience with pot than what you see on commercials.

I'd err on the side of caution. After all, if one vegetable pizza is good for you, then five vegetable pizzas must be five times as good. Eat enough of them and you'll probably become almost immortal!
Slightly OT, but on the subject of Carrots.. most people have heard of the 'Carrots help you see in the dark' myth, right? (I'll assume there are some that didn't know it was a myth until i said it. Yeah sorry about that, your mum lied to you).
Anyway, not everyone knows how the myth came to be. It was actually a British invention..and for very good reason! In WW2 the Germans didn't understand why the Allied Pilots were becoming so efficient at intercepting German Bombers. They didn't know about the invention of Radar, and the Allies preferred that it stay that way.
So they had the Newspapers publish stories about how our pilots were eating loads of Carrots, after the 'discovery' that it helps you see in the dark. Of course it didn't take long for this factoid to reach German ears and they fell for it, hook, line and sinker!
Trolololooll.
Unfortunately, it's harder to undo the myth than create it in the first place!

Ironically, they do actually help you see in the dark, or at least help keep you being able to see in the dark
They contain beta-carotene, which your body converts to Vitamin A - helps against cataracts, glaucoma, macular degeneration and night blindness

Seriously, this is stupid.

I'll tell you now that i'm quite an accomplished cook, and one of my specialities is pizza! It's actually quite a healthy meal if it's done well. Forget all this processed crap you'd buy from a supermarket, or the disgusting rubbish from Domino's or Pizza hut!
My pizza's are freshly made using dough that i make from scratch, with extra virgin olive oil. The sauce is my own recipe; fresh tomatoes with onion, garlic and fresh herbs for seasoning. The toppings are always the best ingredients, i.e parma ham or fresh tuna and the best king prawns. I'll do a chicken and bacon using nice smoked, and dry cured bacon with quality chicken breast. Add some fresh chilli peppers and mushrooms and you have a well balanced meal with all the food groups covered!
Anybody who has ever had the good fortune to share one of my creations will tell you it's the best pizza they've ever tasted! If you've ever driven a luxury Mercedes, you'll know what it's like to jump back into a 'vintage' Ford Escort. The Merc ruins you for other cars. My pizza will ruin you for takeaway pizza forever!
The one thing i miss about not having my flat any more, is the hours i used to spend in the kitchen! Belting out tunes and getting hammered while conjuring up Italian/Mexican/Indian/Chinese cuisine.

BTW, Rib-Eye steak should have Salt, Pepper and garlic granules massaged into it before dropping it into a pre-heated pan, containing a dash of olive oil and a knob of butter. Two minutes on each side and served with beer-battered onion rings and ciabatta garlic-bread. (Freshly made ofc).*

I was bullied at school alot as a child.
Today i am goth.. i am a Metal head.
How did i deal with my bullies? i took them on one by one.. brought their little level back down and beat them up.

Remember in junior high this kid from special ed decided to pick a fight with me, he ended up smacking me causing my glasses to fall off, and his special ed buddies decided to destroy them, I really didn't want to punch the kid, I punched him once, the nurse later told me I broke his rib. lol

It's disgusting but thankfully they were just that dumb to provide the video that has now condemned them. I hope the authorities throw the book at them.

I always taught my kids to punch a bully in the face in front everybody and I wont be mad at them. Ill deal with the school, don't let some one pick one you like that (it will also allow other bullys to take notice and join in) My son did slap the **** out of one on the bus, I didn't condone it. A bully will leave you alone if you let them know you wont take it weather they are bigger or not. They'll find another wimp to pick on that will allow it. Its that simple.
Nothing like teaching kids self confidence and how to handle themselves in an uncomfortable situation inste of playing victim like our culture is pushing.

We're in the same situation but I took my first semester in college last August here in US, and so far so good.
Edit: I forgot that there were some racist that I met in my first semester. Yeah, f*ck them.

Fights seem to decrease once you are in college

Im in hs ny most ppl bully based on what you have like nobody wears aeropastle since its labeled as cheap brand names so ppl by polo,true religons,hollister a&f and ae not to be looked down upon

Bullying is usually at the high school level, Hormones are high, insecurities are popping up, and street violence follows the students into class.
Most of the trouble makers don't graduate high school much less make it to college.

Ah I remember High School. Some kid (remember, bigger than me) didn't like something I said. During class threatened me that I'll get beat up. I ignored him. In the next few days I always saw him with his buddies, I was always alone in the staircase, but his buddies had too much respect to touch me. [ROAD WARNING] Bucket of golf balls

just bought a big ol bucket of used golf balls. why? because im tired of stupid ****s driving while on their cell phone and pushing me off the road. the police say they cant do anything about it even though its illegal in my state to use any type of electronic handheld device while driving. so its time to solve the problem myself. you have been warned.

This is relevant to my interests, please continue......

I will highly recommend two buckets of golf balls as having only one is illegal in some states.
The rule was implemented after a massive horse carriage accident happened back in 1768 in the village of Weinstenstern, England. The initial investigation done by the then forensic team found out that the horses had eaten what appeared to be pine cones causing them severe stomach issues and then passing out due to the internal damage because of the pine cones structure.
After the autopsy they also realize that what appeared to be golf balls have been thrown on the road making it almost impossible for the carriage operators to avoid imminent dead.
So on a referendum the then Mayor of said town made it into a law to carry at least two buckets of golf ball instead of just one in order to keep the balance of the universe and to avoid any more pine cone incidents.

I think he wants to take the good drivers, and the bad drivers....and KILL THEM ALL. Good thing I don't drive yet.
Also to the OP, I think paintballs would be more fun. They are talking, then out of nowhere a loud knock on the window with a blob of paint that you can't remove with your wipers.

Heard that a hand full of ball bearing would be better. Driving into one of those at any speed can do tons of damage.

I used to drive around with old broken tools. Screwdrivers, hammers, ratchets, sockets. Anything. Once put a 4 way through the back window of a truck. He started it. Threw beer bottles at me.
