On the stock att rom making changes. I want to get the aosp lockscreen active. I read if you deleted HtcLockscreen.apk it would automatically to trigger the default aosp lockscreen. However I did just that using titanium backup and I still have the sense lockscreen. Anyone know something I don't? Thanks

I'm using the PureVelocity custom rom, which has Sense, but it has the Advanced Settings app (looks just like LeeDroid Tweaks), which offers to activate the AOSP lockscreen instead of the sense lockscreen. I wonder if you can use that app to achieve this? I use (and really like) the AOSP lockscreen feature.
Seeing that you mentioned your HtcLockScreen.apk, I looked for mine. I was wondering if Advanced Settings app simply replaces the HtcLockScreen.apk with the appropriate AOSP one? Mine is 1.07mb and has an MD5 of fe31e3aaf782ce16b74ea5c08007ac25
I figured it out! Delete HtcLockscreen.apk and idlescreen_base.apk and reboot, and aosp all the way!

So apparently the HTC lockscreen is just an overlay. Maybe just maybe there is a full aosp rom underneath all the sense bs

Argh... Freaking stays locked when getting a call or alarm. Freaking htc, there's always a catch.

One of the things I noticed also. When phone rings, I have to do the AOSP unlock screen, then hit to answer the call. Not *too* huge a deal for me... It's easy to get over because I love how stable this rom is.

I was just going to say, that won't work for calls. I'd recommend using Holics 1.2 (not 1.3) as it has an AT&T build.prop. The LeeDroid tweeks allow you to use the AOSP screen without any issues. Not sure what it does different, but it works.

Actually I had Holics on before, and the aosp option in Lee Droid tweaks did the same thing, unless it's fixed now

I only tried it out for a few minutes (I prefer the sense version for quick access to multiple items), but I thought I tested the calls and they worked... Now that I think of it, it's entirely possible I'm thinking back to my brief stint with the de-sensed rom... In which case, Wajee might me able to tell you what you need to do to properly remove the HTC lockscreen crap to make it work 100%.
I'm still on Holics 1.2 so I'll try it out for you right now.

Aye, as you thought, you have to unlock to accept a call if the screen is already locked. Works fine if the phone is unlocked when a call is placed or received though.
I think the issue is how sense receives calls. If you notice, you have the screen on and receive a call, then you'll have answer and ignore buttons. However if your phones locked you'll have call and ignore lockscreen shortcuts that you have to drag into a ring. I'm thinking it because the dialer is basically attached to the lockscreen, so the screen is still locked but it shows dialer information on it. Similar to how if you have a missed call, or the text it'll show you a picture of the caller on the lockscreen, or how it'll show weather information in the morning. I think the best solution would be an app that would auto unlocked the screen when receiving a call, or a custom aosp lockscreen that would show dialer information on it. I've been googling but all I'm finding is xda threads from other sense 3.6 phones that are having the same issue and people looking for solutions just like me.

I mainly want it because while I like the sense lockscreen, rosie is a "Just Ok" launcher. I like being able to use nova and apex, I want instant camera access. You can still use the lockscreen shortcuts with a different launcher, but rosie will continue to run and use resources and occasionally you'll find yourself on the rosie home screen, for no apparent reason. Usually happens to me when closing apps with the back button. I froze rosie with TB but guess what? Yep lockscreen shortcuts no longer work.
This is really what the worst part about sense is. It's literally a system wide machine that won't work right without all its parts.

Been searching high and low for an app that will automatically unlock the lock screen with no dice. Figured someone would of made one

I'm still looking for a solution to get me past a pin lock to answer calls.
Other people have had success using tasker and secure settings if you don' have a pin.

Dear friend, you can try "HD Caller ID" from Play store, it is light weight but can do what you want

Is there anyway to get rid of the stupid Motorola Dialer and load any of the T-9 Dialing HTC Dialer's? I've seen and tried AtakePhone and DialerOne and don't really care for them.
You can't load any of the HTC dialer apps because they all tie into the Sense framework.

Just out of curiosity... what didn't you like about DialerOne? I've been using it for a bit and, while not as good as the HTC options, I find it much better than the Moto Dialer.
I liked Dialer1 on my Eris, but really love the stock dialer on the DX
Has anyone been able to set dialer one as default dialer? Also after you start it the screen will go to contacts no matter what the setting is.

I downloaded Dialer one and install yesterday with no problem.
First time I went to the dialer, the launcher asked which dialer, and allowed me to set dialer one as default. Been working fine so far.
Dialer One rocks! I love how I can use the keypad to find a contact. That was the one thing I missed having since upgrading my O2.

I would like to know if there is way to completely disable the lockscreen of the One?
Thanks to Sense4, the OneX lockscreen could not be disabled, which I felt it's silly not to give that option.:silly: I had to use ROM Cleaner to remove sense and that worked.
Cheers!

As the person above said, yes it can be turned off. And for one X, it wasn't supported till Sense 4.0 but it is supported in sense 4.1

Thanks to HTC, no. We have to wait for someone to make it so we can flash the stock 4.2.2 lockscreen. People in the ARHD thread got it to work by renaming or removing the HTC lockscreen apk but supposedly some could add widgets and some couldn't. That thread moves way to fast so I can't find any of the info for that now so have no idea how to get it to work or if it really does work.

I have renamed the lockscreen and now I have stock. But I can't add widgets to it. I saw some people on the arhd thread who can ....

It's ridiculous that HTC didn't add this option.
Sent from my HTC One using xda app-developers app
for some reason if you dirty flash from a 4.1.2 ROM to a 4.2.2 one you get the ability to add lockscreen widgets to the stock lock screen (which you get by deleting HtcLockscreen.apk)
I suspect HTC removed whatever bits of system ui from 4.2.2 that supported them, and dirty flashing is the only way (so far) to get those bits.
Do they work on stock lockscreen?
Sent from my HTC One using xda app-developers app
And I thought Samsung's implementation of Lockscreen widgets was dumb... at least they can do it. Bad HTC, that's a very bad HTC. I'm gonna get a rolled up newspaper.

Hopefully someone will figure out how to add them in. So dumb that HTC would do that.

Mine works. I just flashed the 4.2.2 rom TWICE, then deleted HTCLockscreen.apk (or add a .bak to the end of it) and it worked. I went back to 4.1 right not so I don't have a screenshot, but it did work for me.
HTCs lockscreen system is bad enough already. You can't even have a different wallpaper than your home screen unless you are willing to lose out on the function of the other lockscreens. God forbid us being able to have a different wallpaper AND having notifications on our lockscreen. I really hope someone works on this. Because from what I can tell torxx and mike couldn't really care less widgets on the lockscreen. Torxx just told me to use something like widgetlocker but that thing causes lag sometimes and mike says he hates lockscreen widgets period.

Same thing for me…

I don't have the HTCLockscreen on TrickDroid 6.0.1, I search it with ES Explorer but not find… WTF ?
Hi guys,
Running ARHD 12.2. I was wondering if there is a way to replace the sense lock screen with AOSP and also use lock screen widgets, like dashclock.
I would like to avoid widget locker as I'm not thrilled with its functionality.
In my searching, I've come across a few posts alluding to doing this but I have my found explicit directions. If anyone could provide a step by step (or a link to one) set of directions, that would be very much appreciated!
Thanks,
J

Navigate to /system/app and rename HTCLockscreen.apk to HTCLockscreen.apk.bak. Reboot. Voila! AOSP Lockscreen. But to keep the widgets I had to dirty flash from 4.1.2 to 4.2.2 so I'm not 100% if you'll have working widgets, though I don't see why not.

A word of advice - while this trick will work, you still might be disappointed. The reason being is the fact that with the aosp lockscreen the phone stays locked even when a call comes in! So to take the call you will have to enter PIN first (my phone is PIN locked). Voila...
My HTC one is the first of the htc phones i have used to far ( and its not the last for sure ) ... When i got this phone it was on sense 5 version with 4.2.2 android. I have flashed almost all roms and quite happy with it. Until recently i came across a downgraded rom [ROM]HTC new one First sense4+ ROM with Android 4.1.1 by kuaidao ... Thanks for him i got the chance to feel the sense 4 version.... I must say it is an amazing feel of it... I love every single bit of it...It has skins of its own..... more lock screen options and more skins for lock screen... and more than anything... the screen lock is extremely smooth and very helpful,... and trust me its very very very very very smooth.... i just fell in love with... I just don't know why the htc have removed that lock screen and replaces with a naked and more simple lock screen in the sense 5 ..... ... for the first time i was even more happier to have downgraded my sense version from 5 to 4 and android 4.2.3 to 4.1.1 .... everything works perfectly... except few small issues like Chinese language and missing the beats audio...
Now for my request... Is it even possible to take the entire ring lock screen and even the skins and other options and get it on our sense 5 ???? I am sorry if i am sounding noobish... but i am really a noob on these issues...
You can just download morelocal2 and change to your language.. in addtion download keyboard and everything will be perfect..

Delete HTCLockScreen.apk from system apps. You'll have an AOSP lock screen like this.
Backup first though, on some custom roms it causes bootloops.

Yah, I realized that, I have no idea about the old sense ring lock so I figured I'd give you an alternative. Since the new lock screen is terrible, IMO. But I hope you get it figured out. Good luck. Haha
