the best answer for this is you should try yourself.
there are roms with lots of enhanced apps
roms with hybrid mode
roms built with speed as focus
roms built with all junk deleted
and many more other types of roms
or maybe you should ask for more specific question, people might help you.
I Just tried CM9 and it is goed!

Everyone has a different opinion what is best...thus is subjective. What's best for me may not be best for you...and vice versa. Just pick the most popular one and try yourself.

by the way I feel Kingdroid 4.2+GL_NoteCore 1.2b kernel is fine
Dunno, why everyone bleets on about pa, been there done it, but cm9's stylus experience is not a patch on Sammy based roms, also the landscape spen accuracy is terrible, you loose the great spen actions and control, snote and smemo, your be told there are alternatives like papyrus, tried them all, don't come close to the Sammy sapps, now a cm9/Sammy/tablet hybrid now you're talking
Sent from a galaxy note far far away
I'm a big fan of cm9 but wanted to try paranoid since seems so popular over here.. I've downloaded the rom but no matter what I'm not able to get the gapps..
So I just gave up and went cm9

Great bettery life and speed much more than on any stock mod:cyclops:
All roms based on AOSP like CM9 and those that are based on it, with CM9 being the best, fastest and most stable of them. Paranoid is amazing if you're after tablet/hybrid UI. As for TouchWiz based rom - no recommendations here because i think touchwiz is total sh... ( don't want to offend anyone, just my opinion ). Anyway - everyone settles with a different experience so you should just try it yourself.
Indeed, I am using Criskelo V6,
I am just wondering can I directly flash V8 Rom without wiping data?
you know restore/reinstall apps is really painful...

which rom best for battery life and smooter?
Each custom Roms are subjective to the user's preference. He /she could claim that it's butter smooth/fast, great battery life and etc. BUT at the end of the day, You yourself would be the ultimate judge to which ROM that really suits your fancy. It's all about a user's preference and satisfaction.
Don't believe on anyone who will tell you that this and that ROM works fine and dandy for them. Because their results might not be what you would expect the most.
Try and try each ROM for yourself, until you would finally settle for a ROM that you and you alone would claim as the perfect ONE for YOU!.
Always remember, there are different strokes for different folks... What works for others DOESN'T necessarily mean it will work for you. It's all about choice and individuality.
YOUR Individuality.. NOT theirs.....

I used to have stock Gingerbread on my SGS I9000. Then I switched to DarkyROM ICS, which was okay. After a while I came across the SlimRoms website, which was still developing Slim ICS at the time, so I flashed ICS, which was brilliant. Shortly after the Slim team started working on SlimBean, and after reaching a stable version I tried it for myself, a decision I am glad I made.
SlimBean is by far the lightest, fastest ROM I've used so far. Give it a try for yourself and you'll see how amazing, lag-free it is. I'm using version 3.1 with the Semaphore kernel version 2.6.2s.
Hi,
I've flashed many roms on my i9000 : Miui, cyanogen 7, Cyanogen 9, Jelly Bean, ICs..... but for me the best one is the JW8 SAUROM.
Stable, fast, GS3 Theme and a very good battery life !!
Since i am on this rom i don't want to flash another one !
Slim 3.1 with semaphore 2.6
If someone help me i definitely HIT THANKS....
Your question must be more specific, and I'll try to explain...
In my opininon the are only 2 developers team which should be considered, first CyanogeneMod which leads because of it's bigger number of devs (so more supported devices). 2nd is AOKP, which I personally prefer because it's more designale and more good looking, but also very stable. I've tested hardly both, but 5th build from AOKP has best battery life, so I'm never going back to CM, only for new tests, making new statistics etc.
Hope I helped, greetings

But not alll stock rom 2.3.x can be flash with semaphore.. and not all i9000 can be flash with the same s/rom. But still semaphore 2.7.4 is the best way to get cwm. If flashi v semaphore causing boot failure, try to flash with other s/rom and re-flash semaphore.

The idea of two developers was what I was thinking as well when I was making a decision either to stay on stock 2.3.6 or flash something new. CM9 is more "readable" for me in terms of numbering and Stable/Nightly/Experimental. Even tough I do not understand how come there is a stable version followed by nightly builds.
When watching some videos and screens of AOKP I felt it might be even better but I got confused in the numbering (which of the builds is the most stable as I need a working phone not a phone to be flashed twice a week).
For me the best ROM is SlimBean with Semaphore Kernel!:good:

C-Rom Mix V9 here - it's a near perfect ROM. Stable, everything is where it supposed to be. Very smooth operating. My last phone - XPERIA ARC S was destroyed (and its hardware is superior to that of i9000) - Galaxy - being slower by half is faster when speaking about this system operation. There are some hiccups with number recognition sometimes (like 1/10 phone calls and only till i pick up - so no showstopper for sure ). The camera is limited to just basic functions - but is working perfectly fine. The calendar is more basic than in ICS modded ROM for ARC S. The battery last for a day or less - but here i cannot say if the battery in my phone is just old or is this ROM (i got the phone used and the battery is 2,5 yo). And these are my only complaints - not much I have MUUUUUUUCH more complaints on every other stock/modded rom for Galaxy & ARC S
It's my daily ROM more than a week now.

Sorry I know u ask for JB, but have you tried Democrazy CM7 ? Is pretty good.
Now I throw a question? Why would you use CM10 that is a lot heavier than CM7 which doesnt let much space to install things in it?
What is the point of having latest but super limited phone?
Is there something that I am missing?

Er...you may be in the wrong forum...
I have found the CM9 nightly to be the most stable for playing games. I've tried the CM10 and others but as soon as I launch a online game, the TP will generally freeze up.
I play a game called "Tanked" which is online and a great tank killing game against other players. Lots of fun...great graphics, and addicting.
If someone has a suggestion as to a more stable, yet fast rom for this type of gaming, please indicate which you use. I will try and load it up and give you a quick review of stability vs the cm9.
Thanks

Same here. My kids love playing games and I have problem with the T-pad crashing on CM10. I've tried every CM10 ROM available. Each has it's own unique advantanges, but hate seeing Tp constantly crash to mboot.
After rolling back to CM9 nightly, I am not longer having this problem. It's not as smooth as CM10, but kids are happy.
Thanks the Dev for trying to port JB. Hope they continue to get things fully straighten out.

I'm surprised there aren't more posts in this thread..BUT...

Hello, I just decided to put Android on my touchpad, but I don't know which ROM to go with first. I just want something with the best features available while being stable, I don't know if I should go with CM9 or CM10 since from what I see the CM10 ROM's seem to be more buggy? As-well as which Android version, since the latest is 4.2.2 but it still seems to be in its early stages of development.
Any help is appreciated.

Thanks for the answer, I flashed it on my touchpad, however I noticed that flash is really buggy on CM10, it just gives me some horizontal lines, and when I full screen it theres only like a 10% chance of it working, since most of the time its just a black screen or it just flickers over and over and freezes, sometimes its even crashed my touchpad. Would it be best to go to a CM9 rom, or is there some work-around for this problem?

Sorry, I didn't saw that thread. Thanks.
Ginger revenge
Basically all functions work in GB, ICS and JB, but the only real difference is how AWESOME GPS works on GB, and how terrible it works on ICS/JB.
And the roms which are mentioned are idd the best options, you also could try broodROM Business Edition, but it's not as dated as Gigabread and Gingerrevenge
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1923279
Ginger Revenge, i´m realy satisfied with it
You can use my ROM , you will not regret it http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2143035
I suggest GingerRevenge for GB(RC3)
ARCO 68's CM9 for ICS(RC5)
Ivendor's CM10 for JB (beta 2)
Kernels:
GB:feacore (Jack of all traits!)
Skyhigh (super performance)
ICS:Broodplank kernel
JB: ErikMOD kernel(performance+++)
Diablo333 kernel
Nexus kernel
Device model:SGS+ (i9001)
Recovery:TWRP 2.4.1.0
baseband version:XXXPF
Current ROM:CM10 by ivendor beta 1
Best ROMs ever:
1.GB: GingerRevenge by hiej
2.ICS: CM9 by arco68 RC4
3.JB: ivendor CM10 beta 1

I used to like the Endroix ( CM9 ), but the Dev has stopped the further development on that and the last version got some random reboot issues.
and if you are referring to Ehndroix II , I dont have a good impression on it from start, I do agree that look wize its the Best available, but performance wize its not stable.
CM10 is still buggy, and adding application on top of that will not help,
As of now only GB is stable to work with ,u can use either Ginger Revenge (using it now) or Gigabread+ .
Cheers,
KiK
