Fast and stable android? - TouchPad Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Greetings!
I am wondering which is the most stable and fast release of android for the TP?
Tried to run Oats Light CM9, but it crashes several times a day

AOPK milestone 40 works best for me. The rest seem to have issues on mine with Flash and static in the sound with the screen off.

The latest "nightly" (8/19) of CM9 is rock-solid, has the important fixes for battery and wifi, and has no lag. I keep thinking that I will try OaTs CM9 ROM but this one works well enough to hold me over until a stable and complete CM10 is available.

Agree, the official cm9 nightlies are what I use, no problems for me.

Spotted the same thing myself which is why I posted this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=30967856&postcount=10 .
After similar comments were made .
Still waiting a response or to see an apology to the posters who were berated for apparently not searching .

And if you keep searching you'll find links relevant to what he's asked... had he searched to begin with he would have found there is no build 40 for the TouchPad and the M6 is "unofficial"...
Had he done his part from the beginning THIS CONVERSATION WOULD NEVER HAVE TAKEN PLACE

Well you won't need to make a decision anymore because OAT discontinued his rom.

Both AOKP and Oats seems to be gone, as I said. If anybody has links to respectively build 40 and 08/29 release pm me

I don't know if this helps, but though build 40 is no longer on goo.im, rootzwiki has an unofficial milestone 6 build. I found this on the AOKP thread here: http://rootzwiki.com/topic/16983-aokp-tenderloin-june-24-build-40/page__st__640#entry795085.
As for OaT, he requested that no one mirror his ROM after he took them down.
EDIT: fixed link.

Milestone 6 is unstable, we want build 40!

CM9 Nightly 20120819 has been my new standard for performance and stability.
Power drain is the lowest I've had at < -30mA
WiFi, Mic, Sound, BT operating well
NO camera.
Just when I consider OaT... it's gone. :crying:

[Q] Cyanogen Mod 9 ?

Hello everyone, I've a little question for you ? I'm wondering when Cyanogen Mod Team will release 9th version of it ? I'm a bit confused, I check daily Twitter/Cyanogen site.. But nothing.
If Anyone can tell me
Ps; Sorry if this post exists yet :/
Nobody actually knows. On the cyanogen site they have a rule that you don't ask for ETA because they do it for free etc. Its ready when it's ready they say.
So guess we shall have to wait and see

Alright, We can just wait.. wait and wait ^^
Indeed. There are some beta versions out people have created. Look in the other sections of the incredible s forum. But a few of them have bugs e.g camera not compatible.

I know that there are two roms that are working. One of them are almost completly working except camera and video playback
Cyanogenmod 9
Unfortunately htc has not released it's drivers voor the Inc S, so it is very hard to fix the camera.. Hope the get it soon!! I'll guess the are working hard on it!!
Who is the dev for CM9 that owns the Incredible S?
They keep adding to the list of "included in next update" on the nightlies page. It's definitely coming for IncS.

I do agree and I have been playing a lot with this ROM. However the camera issue is related to HTC. They didn't release the source code of the camera drivers yet.
I downgraded to CM 7, last nightly build. I was missing my camera, I paid for it

CM9 is a long way off. There was a post just recently on Google Plus about the way they're trying to work in the options. This is why the tree is still at early alphas. Yes it's ICS, but it's lacking much of the nuances that would make it CyanogenMod including most of the options that we've come to know and love. I'd be surprised if we saw CM9 nightlies for the IncS before late February/early April.

Well my experience with cm9 is : lagging and unstable, big battery drain, loss of signal and flicker on the screen like the fps cannot follow.
You should go with cm7 instead or stock tbh.

If this is what I think it is, a port of the recently released Google vanilla s4, then this should be interesting. Granted, there are proprietary drivers and software for touchwiz devices, it might not be as exciting or feature laden as tw, but it is certainly something different. No, I was too lazy to read the link for clarification.

Actually, they're two separate things.
I just got the new build box up and running so first order of business was making sure PA and AOKP build properly.
Those builds got posted this morning.
Next I'll be working on the Google Edition stuff to see if we can't make a pure AOSP ROM.
Also curious at the kernel to see how it stacks up versus what CM is already using.

Like anything else I work on, too many factors and especially this one needs to be looked at carefully.
For example, the file released by JBQ looks awfully similar to what Samsung OSRC normally releases.
But when I asked before - well, can we build with that? - the answer was no.
Reason being we need things like the proprietary binaries that are up to Samsung to release.
I'm going to start by what JBQ said to do:
1) Make a clean AOSP repo
2) Drop their changes on top of that repo.
3) Add kernel - which I still want to compare to the source used in CM.
Anything else I may use what was pulled for CM (such as vendor blobs) to fill in the gaps.
We'll see if this plan of attack works or not.

I ended up trying it yesterday and data indeed does not work. I think some people are getting confused because 1x data still works but 3g does not work even after using the APN Backup and Restore app and KT AOSP Kernel.
