I got the new 5.7.906 update last night and have already rerooted the phone. But now I want to deodex the phone. What can I use to do this? Has anyone used the xUltimate tool with success before on Droid 3?
Someone has already made a deodexed ROM of it. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1554916

Yeah I saw that but I want one that is untouched other than deodexing

As far as I know the deodexed non-dst one is pretty much straight up. The dst mod is the one that's been changed.

The original question was what can the OP use to deodex the phone? Also, does the xUltimate tool work on the Droid 3?
It was not, where can I find a ROM?
I too would like to know if there is a way to deodex my Droid 3, without a ROM.
Smali/Baksmali
ie. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1296802
I deodexed the stock rom with xultimate.
It seemed to slow down enough though after deodex was complete.
Did zipalign apk's though with Rom Toolbox Pro.
Safestrap makes it even slower booting up now though too.
User beware?
Here is the dump I pulled from the ICS Leak. Could possibly be turned into a flashable zip. Who knows, but im sure many people can use this.
This comes in 3 parts.
Part 1 = Everything but /system/app and /system/frameworks
Part 2 = Includes all of /system/framework and 1/2 of the apps
Part 3 = Rest of the apps and all the apps .odex files
Just copy everything from part 3 into /system/apps from part 2 and you are good.

Is there a way to grab this without being rooted? If so, I can upload it.

Do we have this capability yet? If so, how do I get it?

By posting in the correct thread. Moved to Q and A
I got init.d support and put a couple scripts one for swap and it works. Rooted ics 6.273 no overclock though we still need the module compiled for this kernel
Do you have a download I can flash?
Sent from my DROID BIONIC using Tapatalk 2
I will work on it tonight i didnt use a flashable zip.
Thanks. I appreciate your time. If all I need to do is drop some files in place, then thats fine also. Whatever is easiest for you.

Here's a Megashare link - don't forget to unzip the archive as the OTA and CRC files are both contained within. www(dot)MegaShare(dot)com/4358757

I installed using my script to downgrade to 902 with full data in tact, updated to 905, 230, let the Android update script run on my apps, rooted with modified razrs edge (using SuperSU), and all is well. Very happy!
Any big changes from .2233?

Webtop is reported as finally working. Updated kernel. Looks like we are either looking at an OTA or darn close to it.
No go

I went 902 to 905 renamed zip to update.zip and it was a no go.
No need to rename it. But when you say "a no go" that's really not providing any information that people can help you with. Some versions of this put the update zip inside another zip with a crc file. If that's the version you have, you need to unzip the update zip and put that on your sdcard-ext. Then go into recovery and do the update from zip option.
Does this leak make all Bionics run at 1.2GHz, or are people like me with a certain revision processor not going to see that boost in performance?
Waiting official version hihihi

Same here, I don't trust myself doing this lol. Plus it sounds like they're close to the OTA version of ICS.

I'm running the version of ICS 6.7.229. What is the big changes seen in this one? It's only 1 version number increase.

Webtop
YES! Webtop works!:good:
Is there an easy way to install this without reverting to .902 then OTA .905 then finally "update" to .230.
If I'm already on .229 ICS leak can I not update without using RSD, OTA then Recovery?

Only 1 number really? 1 number can be major differences. You really can't tell anything by a number.
Just an FYI.
As I was preparing to sideload this and had just gotten a fresh build of 905 loaded, I rebooted and was greeted with a notification to download this update to my phone!
I am not on the soak test list nor am I registered for the Bionic on Motorola's support site. This means that this version will definitely be the OTA and will likely start pushing out to all users very shortly.
