can anyone help me how to match baseband and ril..?? i'm from asia (philippines) i have flashable zip 725RIL-V20b-p990.zip and 725-V20b-Baseband.zip., do u think it match?? can anyone give me other matchable ril and baseband??? thanks in advance.. any suggestion will be appreciated..
BTW my current BB is 0327,and my current RIL is 0218(10b) any suggestion also.. thanks..

If you have rooted phone, you can use this https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.sibbor.getril&hl=sl and change RIL
Easiest way is to use the Get Ril from Market. It will check if it match, if not you can download the proper RIL imidiately

You have custom Rom? Or stock?

yup i'm on custom rom temasek latest build 135., my current baseband is 0327 and my current ril is 0218(10b)..
So, from my tests best combo for this Rom is v20s BB + v10d 0725 ril. But I live in Poland...
But to have stable and good quality combo, if above won't work good try 0725 BB and v10d 0725 ril. That should done things
Aldo you can look into baseband thread for another BB but I recommend you this two as they don't contain bugs and give good quality.

+1. try the 0725+v10f SEA
BB 0521 (V20s) + RIL 0218 (V10b Europe) work fine for me. I'm on Temasek's ROM, build 135. But I live in the Czech Republic. Your hardware might be slightly different. You must try the right combination for you.

Actually I've just flashed BB 0521 as well and I'm very happy!! It's too soon to tell but I think my battery life has nearly doubled!!!
My Baseband is 0725 Ril v10d0823

apply zip in recovery
works fine for me on MCR 18b2, using Baseband 1035.21_20110502
not tested on CM yet ...

calling & sms in/out ,works fine for me,i just tried, but i must honestly say it also worked fine with old RIL for me ...
I guess you have to try out yourself, cause not everybody is facing call / sms problems with 502 baseband ...
Tried this too. Works fine. Better then the other RIL I'd say in fact
it is same RIL as in ril by Paul of MoDaCo, which he gave for baseband 405....
I compared it with Hex comparing tool, its just same RIL, same size but just different built date. Which can be due to new release date of firmware and new extraction.

The spanish 10c is not a branded vodafone rom. Is a unbranded LG version ;-)
Do you need to reflash this RIL everytime you flash a new ROM?
I changed the RIL on my O2X with the app GetRIL, it suggested that my RIL and my baseband aren't compatible and since then I have an occasional BSOD ... how can i get another RIL?

I'm newbee and have newbee question:
with getting away from stock ROM and installing different ROMs I found out that I need different Basebands and RILs.
So I got getRIL app. The version of RIL I can understand (218, 725 etc) but it says I have:
baseband 1035.21_20110725
As I understand it's 725, but what version (10d, 20l, etc?)
Like people put in their signatures:
Baseband: 0725 (v10d) + matching RIL
So is there any tool to match my BB number with the version?

Hi, i also found this puzzling.
Getril is the tool so if you installed 0725L BB for example then install 0725L ril using getril or LG ril.

But this is exactly the loop I'm trying to solve. How do I know what version of BB I have NOW (without installation)?
Also it's weird that I get signal with 725 BB and 218 (V10a) RIL, eventhough getRIL says that my RIL and BB doesn't match...
I'm on Gueste2X v3.2 Hybrid Revolution ROM with ETaNa kernel. I read that this ROM requires 218 RIL but it's still strange that it works with 725 BB.
Any explanaitions?

Oh i see what you mean.
Sorry i don't know, CM7 based roms suggest 218 but will work with others. Just try to match your 725 with another 725 ril and if it works without problems leave it.
I tend to install BB which rom recomends.

If you're on stock, you can use the hidden menu. Dial 1809#*990#, click Version Info, look at "Factory Version". That's the baseband version. (Or rather, the name, date and version of the firmware the baseband was released with.)

Thanks! It's exactly what I think based on information i found. But then why some senior members here put following statement in the signature:
Baseband: 0725 (v10d) + matching RIL
How BB (and not RIL) can be v10d???

i used WIN7 Ultimate. drivers i got automatically and everything went ok.

i instale all ROM, not sepparate ril.
you can try to instal it from CMW, or get back old bb and ril, then coppy new ril file, and pull out battery(not shut down), then install BB. it might help (helped for me oince.)

You cannot match 521 on CM, that's correct.

When I flashed Temasek, my network signal was very poor and oscilative. The RIL recommended by GetRIL was horrible too, I had to test manually each RIL until I find a good one.
As it depends on your country and carrier, you'll probably have to do the same.

which one do you use now, my signal and call quality seem good, better then it was on stock rom... But my battery life isn't that great, i don't now is that related to bb and ril?
