Here is the link to root your galaxy mini.This file does not belong to me but I have personally tried it and I am currently using it.You have to go to boot menu by pressing the home button+power button.You will appear at the boot menu.Install the zip file and our phone will be rooted.The zip may also work with other Samsung devices.

ok, this was stupid, but I tried installing the [R3]BLURR3D V1.5 PB W/POWERBOOST 1.95 ROM this morning and got a little trgger happy and forgot to select which rom i wanted to select and rebooted it and now it will not turn on. It just stays on the dualcore screen. what do now? any help would be awesome.
Man try going in download mode and install Odin in your computer. From their try to install a custom rom and check if it works

To get into download mode
1.shut down your phone
2.press down volume key home key and power key together until u are in download mode

I recently flashed the hercules 10u kernel on to my Samsung Galaxy Ace and it got bricked. Can anyone help me please?

Can you get to recovery or download mode? I don't think it would,if it does,then flash a stock firmware with Odin..If it doesn't work,service center is your only option...

Open odin.exe and install mobile drivers.
1. Connect phone 2 pc.
2. Remove battery.
3. Press the DOWNLOAD MODE combo keys.
4. Re-insert the battery (still pressing the keys).
Check whether odin detects your phone (COM port mapping box turns yellow). If it does, install the stock firmware. If still it doesn't, contact the jtag box dealer. He will surely help you out. And, unluckily if that too doesn't work, bring it to the nearest Service Centre to get it repaired.

2. take out the bootanimation.zip
3. push it into your /system/media

did you open up the file i provide? its the .zip inside the .zip youve downloaded. not the whole thing. open it up. take out the .zip inside it.. and put it in your /system/media... set -rw-r-r- and reboot......... :cyclops:

no. actually at the zip itself. if you use solid explorer.. when you moved the file into system/media... you longpress the zip and you can set it there. the permission..

I am starting to get the feeling it has something to with me having a stock kernel on Verizon.
I have tried a hundred times to customize my boot animation and it fails every time!! No fun.
I just tried the long press and no permissions popped up.

I got it to work but it comes up to a black screen then the X with the colors then black screen until it boots. Any ideas?

did you replace the new 1 on the old 1 with the right steps? i don't think there will be a problem...
maybe you could just wipe dalvic and see.. the permission is set to -6-4-4- right?

I followed all the steps in the OP. I've gotten it to work but it pops up for like 2 seconds then goes to black for maybe 10 seconds then boots to home screen.
Someone posted it in this thread and everyone seems to be having the same issue.

i've just read that thread. it seems that your device do have a different type of files for the boot animation.. thats why it got that conflict there..
by now you should have the animation working properly i guess.. congrats..

you need to have root access my friend.. did you root your device?
not working for me either.. rooted device. Actually I have N4 but I installed custom rom and the boot animation sucks
The last 2 weeks my power button isn't working, and just on time the new cyanogenmod came out.
How will I able to install it without the button?

I already know how to access adb. After searching a bit I found this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1667929 which however requires the power button in order to select in recovery menu.

There are some recoverieswhich do not use power button. Instead they are using home button. Look for it.

I wanted to flash 4.2 custom ROM on my phone. So I read about the procedure and flash custom recovery. But now I can't go to recovery. Ever time I tryed go to recovery holding home+power it stuck at Samsung kernel logo. So what I have to do now?

hey my friend, you can go to recovery while ur rom is running by long press on power and choose reboot> recovery...if it didnt appear go to settings>devs settings and enabled advance reboot
if this didnt work, so power off the device then long press the power+home and keep pressing then until it goes to recovery

so simply long press (power+home+volume down) and keep pressing them until samsung logo appear keep pressing on the home button only, and it will go to recovery

I tried. But it didn't work. And I can't find an easy way to root it. Can you provide superoneclick root files? All link I tried is down. My firmware version is 2.2.1

to root it u have to be on the latest version of ur firmware i.e. 2.3.6 then u can easily go into recovery mode by power volume up n menu key combinations! you can upgrade ur firmware via kies or odin.
