Okay, so basically, I get this error when I try and root my X8 through X8Toolbox.Final
I've rooted my phone through this toolbox already and this problem only started occurring after I re-flashed back to stock with PC Companion.
This is the error:
processing command . . .
waiting for device . . .
running psneuter exploit on device . . .
Unable to chmod /data/local/tmp/psneuter: No such file or directory

Alright, I'll attempt it.
Or use FlashTool..
I never use toolbox
if u still get some error just try with Flashtool
root -> click Padlock icon
xrecovery -> click Cross icon
Root via superoneclick

use flashtool because .. it's easy
Use....1super click to root your x8....
Sent from my E15i using xda premium
i would recommend flashtool too, 'cause you can do anything with it, root, flash recovery, unlock bootloader, aso
works for me without any problems
Okay, thanks for the help I guess.
I just found it a whole lot quicker and more convenient to be able to root and all that through the toolbox.
it's just weird since I've never had issues with this toolbox before

basically the time when you rooted your phone something went wrong and it is currently causing you this issue that you are having right now.
the current issue you are having right now is common.
its like a hit or miss thing.
-root with no bugs
-root with bugs <------- thats where you are now
-no root
just root it again and it will most likely solve the issue.
It seems you will have to restore your phone with SUS.
Then root using this script: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2186368
I had the same problem than you, it was caused by using a bad root script. I fixed it restoring and using the script i from the thread i posted, it does not include a recovery, remember to install it later.
may be is that point.. every time i root still not good.....
then i try the other bro that root , my device is root ^^

Happened to me as well, so I backed up TA, unlocked and rooted 253.
To be honest, I can't really see a difference with/without Bravia engine. Anyway, if I ever want it back I'll just restore TA

TA is where DRM keys are stored (bravia engine etc). Had to go to Sony to get the unlock key yes.

3. Type dd if=/dev/block/mmcblk0p1 of=/sdcard/ta-backup.img
"Backup: dd if=/dev/block/mmcblk0p1 of=/sdcard/ta-backup.img"

4. Copy ta-backup.img on the computer too (please check MD5, i never did this but it's important)
5. Flashtool: flash new ROM (i didn't turned on my phone after this but it doesn't matter)
6. Unlock BL with FlashTOOL
7. Flash AdvancedStockKernel (i've used the one provided in link even if it was for 434)
8. TurnOn the phone, press vol- until CWM will pop.
9. Flash SU.zip
10. Open FlashTool again, select the new rom but uncheck everything except KERNEL
11. On your phone you have the option to reboot system (CWM menu), do it and press V-
12. Flashtool will start flashing the kernel
13. Start the phone, open terminal and use restore ta in terminal:
dd if=/sdcard/ta-backup.img of=/dev/block/mmcblk0p1
You will have the new room with root and BL locked again, BE&DRM intact.
Everything works as expected

sounds a bit scary it wasnt so complicated on the galaxy note
i think i'll wait for an easier way to root, without unlocking the bl
dont need custom roms as sony releasing latest version anyway
but i DO need root for titanium backup

Thank you so much for this valuable information.
Apparently rooting your Xperia Z with flashtool changes the bootloader status to unlockable.
Reflashing the firmware with the PC Companion application fixed that.
updated the firmware and unlock aloud status is still no.

It is indeed scary as if MD5 sum mismatches or there was any errors while restoring or backing up TA, then the device would be hard bricked and recovery would be impossible. Then you'll be having an expensive paperweight in your hands buddy!

Have you unlocked your bootloader? If not, do that.

Each time I get a bootloop, then restore to stock I seem to run into some sort of problem running the root script. Several things have worked for me variously: make sure you have the latest version of Doomroot. Reinstall the fastboot/adb drivers that came with flashtool (i have to do this almost every time) sometimes one version of recovery wont work, try the latest dual recovery beta first, if not try the earlier nonbeta or a single recovery. Reboot the computer after using flashtool or doom, sometimes they leave something running that seems to interfere with other scripts, dont know why. So far doing these various things have eventually always gotten root and recovery working again for me. If you have a c6606 there are some additional complications you may run into that ive managed to get around through trial and error (aka the instructions for.downgrading the kernel and rooting then reupgrading it needed some modification to work on my phone)
Firstly thank you @mrjraider,I wipe data and cache,it downgraded to 4.1(.257 rom)
I want to root 4.3,but it needs unlocked bootloader.
So i downgraded to 4.1(for backing up drm keys using cwm)
But now it wont root @DooMLoRD rooting kit (v16,v17,v18) says
"adb server is out of date"
How can i root 4.1?
Thank you
