Hello! I have installed recently the CyanogenMod 7 on my Nexus One and I discover a problem. When I am making a call I can't low the volume of the call, I see the volume call bar discending but the volume still always on maximum. I have already tried others roms and I still have the same problem Can anyone help me resolve this problem, please?? Thanks...
The kernel included in CM has built in volume boost. You'll have to flash a kernel author the boost in order to fix.
There's lots of threads on the subject, so a little searching will get you the info you want...

Sorry if I'm being anoying, but I'm very Noob... Can you send a link with the tutorial for flash the kernel and fix this problem? Thanks mate
There's loads of kernels, and I don't use any of them, so I'm not the person to ask... Sorry!

Wildmonks makes some excellent kernels, and he includes ones without Audio Boost. To flash the kernel, simply copy the .zip file to your SDCard and install the zip from your recovery of choice. However, I'm unsure as to whether they are compatible with CM7. Make sure to nandroid before you flash it so that you can restore in case anything goes wrong.

Theres quite a few on tht page u give me but like i say i dont want to make the wrong choice in rom and screw it over. Like i say im not a novice but want to get it right first time round . Im scared of bricking it like i done with my play
Sent from my LG-P970 using XDA App
In fact, you cant really brick any device, since it is software modding only ;-) if you cant recover your phone nomore, i am quite sure, it was a hardware bug. Or you completely didnt follow a guide given...

The easiest way :
- install ROM manager
- flash CWM from it
- put your rom (zip) in your sd card
- reboot to recovery from ROM manager
- flash it from CWM
or
N00BY0815's thread
Thanks for. The replys both to noobs yes its a full brick i went and put custom rom onto it but couldnt play the playstation games on it so went bck to stock rom it told me to update which i done it bricked my phone yes it was my fault i shouldnt hve done the update as stated in last bit of post . This is y i want to do it tidy so i dont mess it. Up this time the wife will go nuts if i do so trying to do it right this time with no screw ups .

There is no WRONG CM. Go to http://get.cm/?device=p970 and choose the one you like. Mostly the new ones are better, but not always, since they sometimes produce unknown errors. I wouldnt flash CM anyway, if your new to flashing and stuff. Better try v3 of huexxx's Zeus ROM. Find it in DEV Section.
PM me, if you still have your old bricked phone. And give me your Facebookname, cause maybe we can unbrick it
I tried zeus v3.2, there are bugs that needs to be fix. I encountered the need to re-enter my google account password every restart. The call function seems to lag and sometimes FC.
This is my experience and thus sharing it here will give the DEV to fix it for us.
Then you definitly either chose the wrong version, or made a fault during installation. I am using it since the beginning and never had any bug with it. And trust me, cm still has faaaaaaar more bugs ;-)

Dear Guys,
I Hope you can help me out, I flashed my Sensation XL using the Clockwork mod everything went well except for my 3G Mobile Internet Connection it doens't work anymore?
I've tried every 4.0.3 ROM for the Sensation XL but none of them has working 3G connectivity? How can i fix this, i've tried resetting the APN's adding new one using the Vodafone Settings but i can't get mobile internet.
When i flash a 2.3.5 rom i have working internet? Can someone tell me how i can get it fixed
Try a different kernell. One that supports ICS.
Else buy my SGS2...
Else go get ur N900 back!
Does someone have a working Kernel/Radio for me to run ICS on my SXL?

1) there is no ICS kernel sources availible yet, so the current kernels are a mix of ICS & GB. Thats why things dont work.
Did you try manually inputing the APN?
2) please post ALL questions in Q&A. The development forum is for developers to release there work nothing else.

Maybe you can flash the boot.img from the asian ICS update rom. Thats the official HTC ICS kernel.

This data problem seems to be region specific and while we can't flash radios or ruu from different regions this will remain a problem. An eu radio and ril.dll would bring data to you but just not possible without s-off. See some of us here have donated blindly for s-off which may never happen. I live in hope it does. Hopefully we can start using new base Danny posted to build roms so fastboot boot.img might bring some joy.

Anything is worth a look right now as we need it. So many have left because of having unrootable devices and this sucks. I advised people to hold back on donating blindly for s-off as we have no solid answer from the people who actually do this

Hey guys,
I've tried to install the new ICS radio but can't get it to work, tried the radio.img with fastboot flash radio radio.img but it gives me an error.
At this point there's only one ICS rom based on the EU OTA update that gives me working 3g but this ROM has Sense build in, i would prefer one without Sense.
Can someone tell me how i can get this to work?

Here you go.. ripped as much Sense as i cud in the limited time i have today..
I would love to see a senseless ROM with full ICS theme:
- ICS Dailer
- ICS Pull down menu
- ICS Lockscreen
etc.
Further I would like as much apps removed as possible, apps like:
- Facebook
- Google+
- Youtube
etc.
At this moment i have installed the ICS 3.6 Ripped, it al works perfectly I just don't like the Sense styled menu's. I'm not much of a developer but if i need to test something im glad to help. Please help me?

to flash radio, hboot etc. you need make s-off your phone. Flash unprotected hboot from unlimited.io and than flash new radio.
It can be as simple problem, look at insanyly cool sense install instruction and flash a rom that way if you dont wipe dalwik and cache data will fail. I have had same problem

This problem can be solved by manually remove and add your APN, with the exact same data. For some reason this works! Try it:good:
Hi everybody, here's the question.
I'm on cm7, latest nightly, and I'm using psn 's modded firekernel. I tried flashing djsky2011's beats audio, mounting /system as required, and it was successful... excepted that it broke the rear speaker.
Audio via Bluetooth and speaker was good, and even phone calls could be redirected to rear speaker without problems, but any attempt to play music (either from videos and songs) resulted in a loud noise and nothing else. I had to restore a backup..
Did anyone have the same problem?
Sent from my Ace on Apocalypse Rom
So is there anybody who has an idea of why only the rear speaker sound output is broken?
Sent from my Ace on Apocalypse Rom
Does someone at least know what files in the beats audio mod refer to back speaker? I could try removing them and flash it again...
Thanks for your help.

well obviously nowone can help you. have checked the respective threads about beats for CM7? is there alredy such a problem reported (+solution)?
if not: ask them. only thing i can tell you is that it works very well for me.
AND: did you follow the installation instructions?

Checked them and found nothing about it, also they are rather old. I followed the installation instructions correctly, in fact you only need to mount /system and flash the file.
I'll try asking in the thread then, I thought asking here in q&a was meant to be more appropriate.
Thank you anyway for your answer.
PS: Since for you is working fine, what rom are you on?

Hello, I have exactly the same problem as you have. My phone is an alcatel ot 990. And it is running a beta unofficial rom...
I think the problem is that beats audio has never been designed to work with phones that have more then two speakers, although i am going to check the config files.
You should listen poweramp, it's better than Brats audio.

I am going to answer you step by step: I bought my phone half use (4 or 5 months ago), Kernel version is: 3.0.16-g271fd09 [email protected]#1 PREEMPT, The last update i did was about 1 months or 2 (i downloaded the rom from htcdev.com), I do not know what is the radio exactly so i am going to type every information i found: Base band version: 20.76.30.0835U_3831.19.00.19_M, Build Number: 40.14.405.2 CL408426 release-keys, Bowser version: WebKit/534.30... No, i did not drop it never, Does not get wet neither... My phone company not even know i have an Android!
The radio is: 3831.19.00.19_M and HBOOT is: 2.03.0000. VIVO PVT SHIP S-OFF RH
If need more information just Let me know and i will provide you with it.
And i have another question: If i want to wipe the dalvik cache... all my apps will uninstall or delete? what happened if i wipe the dalvik cache?... It is just i want to run the games quickly (without freeze or not so much) and i was reading if i do a wipe dalvik cahche the smartphone entire should go faster...
waiting for an answer yet.... D; i really need help.
Sorry mate been a little busy, try calling HTC and asking them what their current radio is for your phone type and country. Otherwise I suggest getting your phone rooted and changing the kernal and if that fails try changing your Rom to a stable Rom. Withou root on your phone there is not much you can change. Only HTC can alter it.
Sent from my HTC Incredible S using xda app-developers app
---------- Post added at 10:37 AM ---------- Previous post was at 10:30 AM ----------
Also it is safe to wipe dalvik cache your apps will not uninstall, only the crap they put on your phone will be erased. After a delvic/cache wipe reboot your phone, and it will come up with android upgrading. Another question when you downloaded the Rom did you do a clean or dirty install. If it was dirty (did not format phone) it may explain your WiFi issues. What Rom version are you running anyway?
Sent from my HTC Incredible S using xda app-developers app
I see... i am runing the rom i wrote above: vivo version 4.0.4 which was installed with RUU asistant from my PC 5 months ago (more or less).... and has been installed cleanly too (formating the phone entire but not the dalvic cache) And i got this problem recently (before, about 3 weeks i did not have any problem with wifi)... why now?
My phone is rooted already (i wrote it above too: S-Off) but i do not like the customs roms... i like the "original" or not personilized roms to my device... there are many custom roms right here (xda developers page) but i do not know if that roms get me more troubles that i have already... so i trust more in my stocks roms than customs for that...
Custom roms can be soooooo much better than stock, for one they get rid of bloatware which can slow your phone, and drain battery, and consume data. There is an abundance of info on these Rom pages, which can guide you on how to remedy any issues you may have, including hotspot issues. I think I read something on the net today about HTC having hotspot issues from their latest update. I use second sun Rom, with redux .6 kernal, radio is 28m, didn't like the 19m version. Hboot is blackrose. Second sun has everything working, no issues at all, its smoother, faster than stock and it is based on the 4.0.4 Rom, also has a jellybean switch. Try this combination. It may help.

hmmmm i am thinking about to change my rom.. but need more information for example, my htc incredible s (vivo) it is completely compatible with that rom?, how many available storage space i need? (whats the size of the rom file), i have never installed a custom rom before, so how could i install it sucesfully? it is with RUU? (Assistant/wizard for pc?).... though i think that all information i could find right here but i do not like the matter of wasting time so much (;
And... i will completely decide to change to a custom rom when the problem i have becomes a fu**ing curse to my life (lol, wich it is almost here)
Mine is the same type inc s vivo. 4ext or clockwork mod are best for flashing. I use 4ext touch for recovery/management. All you have to do is save zip file on sd card, not under any folders just on main file. About 400mb is needed for file. Then perform the format all partitions except sd card. Then choose install zip from sd card and select your zip.

i see... so every custom roms comes in zip format? it seems to be easier than i expected (; but before all, i need to choose the perfect rom i want, i would like to prove the JellyBean sense 4 in my device... but it can be unsuportted at all for the poor cpu incredible s has O; and u said me u have a good rom running in ur device... i want to know where i could find it? what sense it is? u told me about could "switch" to jellybean, i do not understand that...
could u reccommend me a rom that it is nearest to "perfect"? if u know what i mean.... i say, almost perfect or perfect to me! (smooth, fast, without freeze, insane browser, tha games i install run perfectly, the apps without freeze, you know what i am talking about) i say "insane browser" cause the browser ics comes crash and close every second and it freeze very much when playing streaming videos (at least to me) and of course a stable ROM in general, without bugs, with no erros at all!
I would check your router, maybe test on another wireless device if you have not done so already. If your using encryption try a quick test with it disabled or try using another network.

i tried it all you said: connecting my device to another network, trying to connect to my router without pass (encryption) and tried too using another smartphone (to check if the issue is for the router) and all of this it is the same result: incorrect download in everything, everywhere and every file of the entire world! i don't think so, I was reading the comments of the post of the Sabsa prime and some users having issues with the ROM, and the second sun I think have some bugs too... D; really it is so necesary to change my stock Rom to a custom Rom to solve a wifi problem? it is not easier to change the radio? or upgrade my kernel? .....
I am using second sun and I have not found any bugs, everything is working just fine. The first posts are there from when it first came out, before any fixes. If you would like to try to change the radio, the latest one is 19m. Can't suggest a kernal as they all react differently to different rims, its a matter of trial and error. Also if you would like to try a diferent rom, just perform a nandroid backup first, then change Rom. If you don't like the Rom all you have to do is go to recovery and recover the previous Rom. It would be like you never changed a thing. The backup is always there so you can try as many roms as you like, risk free.

exactly, that is it cause I have some games that doesn't work on gingerbread... I will do the back up of everything first (Nanandr... however Lol) how many free storage space I need in my SD card to do that? I will need to buy another Sd, the mine it is almost full of games and apps (every time I install an app, I transfer it to sd card) and it is full of files and crap.
first I will prove the second sun Rom, if that don't like me, then I will flash sabsa prime and will tell you how goods it is for me in both.
Someone could paste me the download link of the ultimate radio (.19M) and tells me what I have to know or how could I install it successfully without risk? (for example: what radio I need to have installed first?, the process is the same of flashing a Rom?) though I think that information provide me in the download link (the radio thread)...
You can find most of it here. Radios and kernals.
