[Q] Strobe light with temasek - LG Optimus 2x

If I switch strobe light on while screen is on, it works well. But on screen off, sometimes I get BSODs or the camera light switches off. Could it be an hw problem? I must admit that my phone fell down from my shelf..

Strobe light? How do you even activate such a thing with screen off?

I activate it on screen on, and then i switch screen off

I never had this problem even neither on CM9 (Owain 60-80) nor on Temasek's CM7. When in turn off the screen, the flashing slows down for a second but then goes back to normal

so it's an hw problem, right?

As far as I can tell, it shouldn't be an HW problem since we both have Temasek's ROM. Also, i don't see how HW connects to how the LED operates.

Proximity sensor problem

Hi!
Since week or few days more i've started to have problem with proximity sensor during calls. After covering the sensor it doenst turn off the screen. After timeout the screen is black, but after uncovering the sensor it doent wake up the screen.
I use the latest Galnet Miui weekly, and in factory test on miui the proximity sensor works perfectly. I dont know what to do to fixed that.
any ideas?

You must have had your Nexus for a short period of time.. It's a well known issue. A widget is your best option.
to switch screen off use "screen off & lock" app
to power off ur mobile use "quick boot"

The ****ty flex cable is known to fail and sometimes even permanently break.
With CM7, depending on which version you have, you can wake the screen with the trackball and/or volume buttons, and there are widgets in the Play Store which can handle locking the screen.
I can personally recommend this widget. I use it every day and it never fails: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.soulfulz.android.turnoffscreen

Check in the settings if "Auto-rotate screen" is enabled.
If it doesn't work, send it to LG

The screen light on when i ....

The screen is turning on when i lift my phone up from the table.
When i for example put my phone on a table, the screen is turning of about 30 second, when i pic my phone up the screen turning on automatic whitout any touch on a botton. Should it was like that?

display on the table or back (camera) on the table
I'll explain my question: although I'm assuming it shouldn't work that way (at least by default), if you have the display facing down, it might be waking because of the proximity sensor. As you lift the mobile from the table, it behaves the same as if you were moving it away from your face after a call, and wake the screen up.
Actually, this would be a nifty feature for many people, specially now, with JB lacking a way to use the capacitive buttons as notifications. Considering they probably lift the phone a few dozen times a day to check their messages/missing calls/emails and only a couple times to actually put it somewhere else (and even then they probably check the missing calls again), it would save them some time

I search for that on the "Store" but a few came up...
Maybe is a app feature, don't know.
What I know (in stock) is that if you set the screen to lock, after get locked and screen OFF, only power button is able to wake up the screen
allowing the slide to unlock.
mine comes on sometimes too, soon goes back off, dont bother me too much
After the update to Jelly Bean, my Display always gets activated for a few seconds when I receive a Message.
Is there anything I can do against this?
Or am I the only one with this "Problem"?

Double tap screen on?

Im trying to find a launcher or app that allows the screen to turn on with a double tap . Most seem to have just screen off. So when the phone is on the table, a combination of double tap and face unlock would be much better than having to hit the power button whi h is awkward

I believe it needs to be a function in the kernel. In other devices I have had if not present in stock then more often or not enabled via custom kernel.
I agree would be useful, I just would like to check notification, when you unlock with fingerprint you don't see those
