I just used Dr. Ketan's post (stock ROMS) to flash the latest GB and would now like to flash stock ICS 4.0.4. I reside in Hungary
and the phone was purchased in Hungary. I don't see 4.0.4 Rom for Hungary. Does it matter?
I am curious why they even have ROMs bye country.
Thanks for your observation.
Already updated half an hr back. you can see now.
This have 4.0.4 for hungary now.
Just cause your phone was bought in country a doesn't mean the phone has country a csc. That's not how updatability works at Samsung.

Hey, my n7000 is shows germany in region, and now its on 2.3.6. i'm from israel and like to know if i should change the region for updates? is there a international region?
b.t.w the phone is simfree
If you want OTA or updates over Kies you need to install the proper Rom for your country.
You can find here

iirc, german models were one of the fastest to get updates.
more importantly, tell us which version your device is currently running. if its already on the latest version then its pointless to waste time swapping regions and wiping your device.
its the latest for now
android 2.3.6
baseband xxlb2
kernel xxlc1

ok, so i installed the german ics rom on my uk note using this guide.
i want to move back to my "correct" rom, but still keep root if possible. i downloaded the new ics uk rom from here
this may be a stupid question, but can i follow the exact same guide, just substituting the lpy cf root kernel for the lq2 kernel in post 7 from this thread?
my phone was originally the cpw software (even though i didn't actually buy it from carphonewarehouse) and it seems that that rooted kernel is for the unbranded uk version, but i'm guessing that won't be a big deal?
thanks in advance.
Anyone?

If you substitute the LPY kernel with the LQ2 kernel you will get exactly this, a new kernel. The rom will still be the same. In theory swapping the kernel should work but there is always a slight risk it doesn't.
Concerning the cpw branding: What matters is the model, not the branding. So if you have got a N7000 it is fine to flash any rom/ kernel intended for the N7000.

Oops, something went terribly wrong
Yeah but I'm intending to actually flash the uk ROM as well. What i really mean to ask is, can i flash the uk (cpw) ROM with the uk (unbranded) kernel, with no more risk involved than if i was flashing the unbranded rom and unbranded kernel? I understand that there's always a small risk, but just wanted clarification that flashing a slightly different kernel than the rom's normal one isn't going to completely kill my phone unless I'm very unlucky

There are 2 ways you can do:
1. On the dialer *#272*IMENumber# then change your region CSC on the screen that comes out. The Phone will reset to factory with the new region.
2. Flash a stock ROM for your region, in this case Singapore. You can get a stock rom from Sammobile.com.It doesn't matter if Gingerbread or better still chose the latest ICS..
Good luck!
Anyway, if you only want to upgrade to ICS why not try connecting first to KIES to see if there is an upgrade for the region you have now? My GN was bought in the Middle East but I flashed Germany GB ROM and upgraded to ICS 4.03 using kies. From that version I was able to upgrade OTA to 4.0.4.
Hi guys,
I buyed a G Note with this baseband: N7000XXLRK. Looking in the internet, some sites said this is Germany version, is that correct?
And, im from Brazil, i want to install the stock ROM from my country, could someone tell which ROM i should install? (Just link to thread, and i will search it) or i need a 4.1.1-4.1.2 ROM with full Galaxy Note features and Brazilian language.
I looked in the N700 Al stock ROMS but didn't find a compatible one
Thanks :good:

My phone was on LRK but I'm from the UK
Mine was From Italia, i changed to LRK because Germany always gets the updates first (at least for note, or at least the last 3 major updates) and I'm from Venezuela..
I see no point on changing roms to brasil or any south American carrier.. They get the updates months after the official its released...

There is no official jb out yet, we're still waiting. There are leaked source jb roms which are as close to stock as possible like lsa or lsc but they still have bugs.

Btw, official jb is likely to be released soon, like within a month unless Samsung do as they did with ics and run over again, but judging by the leaks, that's doubtful I'd say.

Samsung promised JB to February?
That's good..
They have not promised anything whatsoever.

Hi all.
I have recently moved to Australia and i have taken my Gnote with me. I works on all the networks fine and im looking to flash it with Jellybean from ICS.
Is there anything i should know about doing this like.. radios and compatibility etc.. or can i just pick and choose something i like and flash it?
ALSO,
If i was to flash it with the official firmware just to take it back to stock, would it matter if i did this with a Australia version if its different? or would i have to do this with the UK firmware.
Any help would be great!
(spelling mistake in title Note not 'not')
I have a French note that I use in Australia. So far the best JB radio/modem I've found is XXLSO and I've tried several.
Galaxy Note N7000: JonRom UBLSF V1 + SpeedMod k5-3 + XXLSO on Telstra
I've done the same as you - from London to sydney two weeks ago. No complaints, no changes, nothing. Just a new sim and go! Using an international Note mind

Im from Australia and so is Sweet ROM yet is made from latest international firmware and used by people all over the world. My device is an international version originally with German firmware many moons ago.
In short, it doesn't matter mate
