US TMobile 4g to UK 3g - Dell Streak 7

Hi,
I've got a TMobile 4g Streak with build 15420.
Question is - can I upgrade to 21700 without any problem?
Thanks.

There's no real difference beyond the fact the EU modem is missing 1700mhz.
As far as the rom is concerned though, it really doesnt care what modem, if any, is installed.

[Q] My Craziest must dumbest idea ever... will it work?

well ive been having issues with 900Mhz band and 3G (my phone company supports 3G under 900mhz only and i don't get on the 3G fun for some reason ): in my weak moments i got this idea of flashing a telus(canada) "sbf" on my milestone and going along with another company that user same 3G bands as telus <.<
will this idea work? any advice?
No matter what you flash, you can't change phones hardware. If you are using north american Milestone (purchased from Telus) you will have 850/1900/2100 bands. If you have european MS, you will have 900/2100.
However if you are not using the right radio firmware, your phone won't see 3G or will have troubles at best.
No matter what firmware you flash, make sure you flash the right radio files for the hardware you have.

Will a T-mobile Nexus one work on Bell Mobility (Canada) network

Is it possible to get a T-mobile N1 to support the 3G Bands 850/1900 that the bell network supports? I know it is possible to flash different radios with android phones. I am still a fairly new user to android but i'am trying to learn and u can't learn with out asking questions
Thanks,
Ryan
You won't get 3G. You need the AT&T version for Telus/Bell/Rogers. You could try Wind or Mobilicity.
well that sucks, neither of those are in Nova Scotia where i am located
You could always try to look for someone to trade with, AT&T for Tmobile Nexus.
But it would probably be hard to do in person if there is no demand for it in Nova Scotia.
I don't know how safe it would be to trade by mail.
Any plans that Wind or Mobilicity will come to Nova Scotia? Just curious.
You could get it to work on Rogers GSM network but you won't get 3G, I could be wrong but I don't think Bell or Telus have GSM networks so you're out of luck there.
Oh yeah, there is that little snafu too. Even worse.
It will work on Rogers but you won't get 3G speeds.
It won't work at all on Bell/Telus.

So are you saying his Tmobile won't work on Bell/Telus at all?
But an AT&T will work fine on Telus, with 3G as well?
I am considering buying a nexus one for when I switch to telus next month.
Yes, the T-Mobile version will only work on Rogers/Fido with 2G only.
It will not work on Bell/Telus at all, ever.
It will only work on 3G on Wind Mobile and Mobilicity.
If you want full Rogers/Telus/Bell support, you need the AT&T version.

If you're a Canadian and you want a "Nexus One-like" experience on Bell/Telus/Rogers, and you're having trouble finding one with the right 3G bands...
Get an HTC Desire from Telus. Problem solved. If you don't like Sense UI you can flash it with all sorts of ROMs that will make it feel more like an N1, or you can put MIUI on it, or Cyanogen, etc...
Or according to mobile syrup(can't link) the nexus S will be on the big 3 in march

[Q] Can at&t Nexus One work on T-Mobile?

I'm on at&t. I have an N1 that I bought full price, off-contract.
I've now purchased a Nexus S and planned on giving my Nexus 1 to my girlfriend who's on T-Mobile. I *thought* the phone was supposed to be unlocked but there's obviously lots of confusion about what "unlocked" means.
I've found that t-mobile N1's wont work on at&t 3g, but I've found nothing concerning the other way around.
Could someone give me a clue if this will work?
The phone will work fine, but only on EDGE speeds. There are two different phones because T-Mobile and AT&T use two different frequencies for their 3G networks.
Please read the FAQ, question 13.
Why would you think it could work one way and not the other? If it cant work on at&t because of hardware the same rules apply the other way around otherwise there one only be one model.
Thanks for the replies.
So is there a way I can get this at&t unit to work fully on t-mobile? It appears not. I feel mislead.

Nexus One is not capable of "4G" speeds anyways, not matter what network / device model you use. It has a theoretical max download of 7.2Mbps and does not utilize a HSPA+ radio which is required to access Tmo / AT&T's "4G" network.

[Q] International galaxy on T-mobile 4g?

I have a newbie question. I know the note has 2 versions.
Can the AT&T version work with tmobiles 4g network? I heard that they may be slightly different.
If the AT&T doesnt get 4g what does it get? Tmobiles 3G or edge?
Can someone confirm the international versions work on the 4g?
Also the specs on these two devices are slightly different...but I can't find the difference!
If these questions have been answered sorry in advance!
They've been answered to death, but what the hey.
Some thing the AT&T version could possible work on t-mobile with a modem flash, but I wouldn't buy one hoping to do that until it's out and someone tests it.
International version can only get edge on t-mobile. Odds are if the modem flash doesn't work thats what you will get with the AT&T version as well.
The big difference is the processors. The international version has the faster exynos, while the AT&T has a snapdragon but also LTE
Ive read recently that some connectivity with 3/4g can be made. Since I don't have a note I'll post and someone can confirm.
Thanks for the answer though

They show the base bands and no you cannot just flash some software to change the bands.
