signature error on 2.2 during recovery mode

It applies to people who have upgraded to 2.2 via ODIN. However, I have 2.2 stock installed on my phone that was provided by AT&T via Samsung Kies. I just rooted the phone and want to install a custom ROM (Serendipity 6.4).
I keep getting this message:
"E:failed to verify whole-file signature"
"E:signature verification failed"
I tried following the instructions here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=804226 but it timed out. I then followed some instructions that advised that I use SuperOneclick 1.9.1 Shell Root first, and then try the "2e recovery" tool, but the Shell Root tool timed out as well. FYI I did have the USB set to debugging mode.
On a side note, what mod would you recommend? I want to try 2.3, but my main concern is speed and battery life. Thanks.

i am gonna make a thread on this.
you can modify 3e or work around it by odin flahing a kernel without it
i use speedmod kernel for the second option then you can flash back to a kb1 based kernel with cwm baked in via cwm in speedmon kernel
ill post the 3e mod in a minute if you prefer not to use odin

This 3e recovery fix one as been asked atleast 100 times in the last 2 weeks and as been answered every single time..

The topic of this thread is great but ur questions are just too ....we are glad to help but then google gives a much better explanation for almost everything.
Thing is when some kind person answers such questions ppl come up with more of such questions cuz they get answers without pain.
Yes rooting voids warranty, there are no risks of bricking if u follow the steps properly. But no guarantee
Btw how old are u? Pm me if u don't want it out in the open.

im 15 years old yet.
im freaking out so much because last time i rooted; market disappeared and all apps too none of the apps in the mobile were working not even go launcher ex..its froghtening... it reamained the same when i applied the 1 file method to flash my rom
then i tried with multi file method it bought it back to normal all was normal except @nishanty
but i rooted my phone many times before when it was 2.2 froyo
please inform me if you find a way to temp root or root and unroot quick
i have see a app name temp root remover in the market
which say it replaces the su to mu.. which removes root is that true..
please tell me ppl who are with rooted phone

so here goes,
i have been trying to make a new port based on the RD miui rom, which initially worked out well, with the limits of the Custonexus rom + usb storage sharing which seems incompatible completely for now.
it has been tested , but somehow not lived up to a satisfying degree. the new base is little improved and got the fixes from custonexus rom included to support better handling and enabling/disabling in general (which of course should be perfect now)
anyways, there exists a big drawback on this alpha i will publish, which is it cannot currently use ClockWorkMod to restore to stock or another backup. and i have struggled to solve it, but unable to.
so it comes with a certain degreee of being less perfect, since you need to be experienced in using kdz recovery.
question is, how many would spend time with it, if you cannot use ClockWorkMod to restore (although most should know kdz recovery programs by now) is it worth releasing?

no problem for me..really happy to see u are the only person work hard to make custom rom for LG 4X,,,so no reason for me to buy nexus 4...thanks a lot!!

I love MiUI and I love you Dexter. But i'm affraid the 3G doesn't work in France with Custonexus, or maybe I'm a noob.

totally agree and why i wondered. but i checked other sections and there exists worse ports than this MiUI.
but i cannot go back on a XX:1 in favour of releasing it, so here it is. Those that dislike the release, can simply skip it.
my secret agenda is that someone sits down and say i can do much better, and release a new 100% working ROM if possible

a common developer excuse is simply : we got no chance of compiling a kernel with fixes.
actually in this case it would help MiUI on the vibration fix, since they expect to control vibration with parameters with an updated kernel driver we do not have a chance to fix, so its messes up somehow expecting a newer driver.
and yes, i know there exist appreciation and worth the effort trying to show o4x can actually go all the way, and better if i get my f....
(AND i just got my cm10.1 compile fully sync'd YEAH!!)

No, this is an Android, I have this on my Express also. May, if you Force close the Launcher3, your icons will appear again.

But, with the latest GPU drivers, our MDDI screen doesn't work, because they've pulled out the support of it. So, I have to solve this somehow, I'm working on this for a week now... The only thing, what I've got was a blank screen. But I didn't give it up...

Is this similar to the problem with Sense 5 on our phones and would solving this go along ways to also fixing Unimaginable?
Recall NIK was working on a new IncS ROM when time constraints took him elsewhere. I'm wonder if he was working towards something similar and if contacting him may help.

I try many times to force close the launcher3 but icons doesn't reappear.
Another troubleshooting :
- wifi bug (sometimes wifi shutdown but works after reboot)
- broken mms (cyanogenmod problem ? Cannot receive / send mms)

If you check the official website you'll see Z3 Compact (Aries). There are no builds available yet. Apparently they will be available in the coming weeks.

You need to unlock for every custom ROM that doesn't have a stock (-based) kernel, else you will run into a bootloop. So yes, unlock is necessary. Don't forget to backup your DRM keys before.

I can't wait to try Paranoid Android on my D5803. I hope they hurry up and release a candidate.

However, the conduct of above "senior" members gives more insight into their state of mind than anything else, least of all information related to the subject.

Same process then? flash boot.img and zip from TWRP?
Edit: Everytime I do that, my phone doesn't boot. Be it with CM or other ROMs, and I have to flash a stock tft. I'm currently on Concept, since I've never managed to get CM working.
Edit2: tried to install but had to modify the install-script. My device was being recognized as "z3c".
Edit3: error flashing, same thing as CM. Flashing stock MM to see if it has something to do with using Concept before.
Edit4: can't enter recovery after flashing stock MM. Going back to Concept and not sure what to do next

Flash any 5.1.1 with Flashtool, and then try to flash PA through TWRP. I have no explanation why, but after being on Concept I couldn't flash even a stock 5.1.1 or even 4.4.4, so had to go with Flashtool.
From my wild guess (no knowledge about it whatsoever) it may be that on concept partitions are mounted on different points, so the one from update script in any other rom doesn't match.

I'm downloading the build now,can't wait to test it.
I'll Flash it tomorrow and edit the post for share my opinions.It's very good to see aosp roms.I was so bored of stock-based roms like Slim.
